The amount of times that this game is willing to give you absolutely nothing back for your efforts, either through dungeon chests, the mystic forge, or even salvaging, is completely demoralizing.
The lodestones are a rare drop, but getting 1 to 5 per hour is possible. Someone leaked the secret spot where farmers get their supply from. Perhaps if you search the forums, you’ll find it.

I’ve averaged about 1 lodestone every 2 days farming CoE and malchor’s when the Altar of Tempests is taken.
The drop rate is a problem, lodestones are a stupid gateway mechanic. There’s no prestige in someone buying gold (either through anet or a 3rd party) to get an item.
Which server are you guys on? I’m on Crystal Desert and I’ve NEVER seen anything respawn faster than 30 seconds.
I’m on Crystal Desert and I’ve seen karka immediately respawn literally on top of the one I’ve just killed.
I’ve seen this in orr and other zones too, it seems to occur more often when there are other people in the area. If I’m just killing them on my own, they don’t tend to do this.
There needs to be like a ‘safe’ radius around a recently killed mob for at least 30 seconds or so.
Mesmer’s do not make the best bunkers in my opinion due to the fact that they do not have any form of stability.

You should make everyone at arenanet aware of this so they don’t post misinformation like “it’s a bug”.

Twiddle with the texture quality settings (put it on max quality) and/or the negative LOD bias setting, I can’t remember which fixed it for me.

Did we really need another charged lodestone sink?
Right now demand far outpaces supply and there doesn’t seem to be anyway to abate it. Charged lodestone recipes are some of the most expensive in the game by nearly an order of magnitude compared to other lodestones (glacial, for example).
This really needs to be fixed; either rebalance the distribution of recipes or add an alternative source of supply (through dunegon tokens) for the lodestones.
It happens if that particular zone crashes and restarts, which happens more often than you would think.
No offense, but did you just discover that this game is SIGNIFICANTLY unfriendly towards mele in regards to dunegon encounters?

I assume that kill shot is so awesome because the highest of on high classes normal attacks wouldn’t work well in explorables and a demand was made.

Not only backslot items, but also jewelry from drops (that is soulbound by default) cannot be salvaged too.
That isn’t exactly true, I’ve salvaged a few rare rings I’ve gotten as drops / from chests in FotM.
I hope the spineguard thing is a bug, I’ve salvaged the other back pieces that look like books.
Other rare back pieces that drop now can be salvaged, however none of the spineguards can be. This is annoying. Fix please.
Uncontested on Crystal Desert. Just completed the defense event, should be up a while longer.
You’ve got DR in every other dungeon in the game, on karma gains from dynamic events and mob drops, even on resource gathering from mithril to orichalcum.
But this new baby has no DR at all. People can literally farm this set of mini dungeons 24-7 (and I knew a few that basically have).
To me this sudden change in design philosophy, more than the vertical progression, is cause for concern. What in the world is going on?
You can get them from the new dungeon in addition to the old acquisition method.
Except you can’t get them from the “old” acquisition method due to the fact that the DE escort chain constantly bugs out due to whatever three month old horeskitten excuse they’re using, and sometimes does so out of range of the champion giant with which you can reset it.
Either fix the freaking escort DEs that CONSTANTLY bug out or move the shards to another vendor that has a DE chain that is actually able to be completed. Your choice. I’m tired of wasting people’s time trying to get it done.
I am having a problem with this achievement, I am 1 kill away from achieving it,but it wont move. Does anyone have a solution for my problem? (I didnt die or DC) Heres the Screen shot :

It’s bugged in the sense that you need 500,000 experience in the same zone, without logging out, and without dying.
But it’s possible to do.

If you like, farmed every DE in cursed shore for 3 or 4 hours and never died.
This is a rare back item I got as a drop in a fractal, but I cannot seem to salvage it. I got another back item (a book of some kind I think) and was able to salvage that, but can’t do anything with this but vendor it.

I agree that lodestone rarity is a problem however the legendary gifts only require 100, not 250.
I don’t understand you people. What is the difference of grinding FOR A SKIN vs. grinding for a minimal stat increase? It probably isn’t going to be more than a 1 point stat difference like crafted vs. dungeon. Get over yourselves. You will grind for a legendary for 1 more point stat, but not armour? Oh well, to the cry babies, goodbye and send me your stuff when you rage.
Two points:
+10 stats on a single item is not minimal.
Legendary items don’t have any additional stats over exotics, they’re cosmetic only.
The main guys I see drop oranges, which isn’t very often, are pirates.
Pirates = Oranges = Gangplank … logic
Makes sense, they’re combating scurvy.
Tradeskills basically seem pointless once you hit 400, none of the unique weapons or armor can be crafted they’re all forge items.
I would like there to be an incentive to have a particular tradeskill outside of the ability to refine ingots or wood planks. It seems like anything actually worthwhile requires no tradeskill at all.
It’s not impossible, you don’t need to get 5 in one go.
Over the course of a few days I got it doing shatterer randomly, it’s not that hard.
I have never had a problem getting gold in even the most populated DEs in Orr. (Plinx chain, Arah defense, Grenth chain). Phantasmal Berserker and Phantasmal Warden + blurred frenzy generally do a pretty good job at mob tagging. I also use sigils of fire for a bit more AoE (albeit random).
Clearly it’s too late to change, but this is an incredibly bad decision.
Not even 24 hours and the match is decided.
Can’t wait for 6 more days of this…

How is ONE a run “way too easy”. How is doing a full clear of a dungeon path no effort?
Let’s say your first run of the day only, limiting you to 3 of whatever lodestone comes from that dungeon a day.
Yes there would be more supply in the market. That’s the entire point. The idea is to get rid of the 3-4g Charged Lodestones in the TP right now, because as I said, they are TOO expensive for what they are/how many you need.
That or purchasable for 60 dungeon tokens from the vendor.
As it stands now, they are far too scarce for what they’re used in/for.
Also mesmer clones.
And pets.
Any anything else that isn’t player controlled.

I was getting further and further when I managed to get in to an instance with only one other person. Now I’m back to “can’t see where I’m going”

The difficulty of the jumping puzzle would be FINE if I was alone. The fact that I’m forced to group with random people combined with camera bugs makes it nearly impossible.

Have fun playing as a melee mesmer then, i suggest you try either a thief or a warrior if you really like to play a melee class.
You can even try to make a level 1 go and do some testing on some dummies in the mist and you can see the dps difference.
I have a thief and by far the mesmer is more entertaining to play. Even if I don’t do 13k in one hit. I don’t think anyone playing mesmer is doing it to see huge numbers on their screens.
Getting into mele in PvE and boss fights can be more difficult than AFKing and spamming the hell out of Spatial Surge, that’s true. But it’s also significantly more entertaining, and thieves can be just as squishy in those fights and they have lower health pools.
I suggest you understand that almost every style of gameplay is viable on every class if the person knows what they’re doing.

It’s doable, and it’s fun. You just need to be smart. I run greatsword and sword/sword or sword/pistol depending on the boss. Blurred frenzy and illusionary riposte are critical for survival, the root from illusionary leap/swap is helpful. For mobs that knock down I run mantra of concentration to break out of it and get away.
Being in mele range is a lot more dangerous and it’s not nearly as easy as just using ranged abilities, but it’s a lot more fun and more rewarding gameplay.

You’re fighting Crystal Desert which isn’t all that organized when it comes to WvW and ET which was decimated by server transfers.
It doesn’t have anything to do with fragmentation. Just look at your disk light, it isn’t pegged. Whatever they did it’s about the communication between client and server.
It’s not just zone loading either, whatever it is I think has to do with the ‘culling’ of characters and the preview for your character when you go into the dye screen.

GW2 can push a GTX580 to 80-90C pretty easily, if you’re not CPU bound.
I put an Antec Kuhler 620 on mine and it doesn’t exceed 60C oc’d to 900MHz GPU 2100 Mem.
If the mesmer has 100% map completion you should never have any difficulty at all finding him.

I have an SSD and a VERY fast computer and it takes 20 seconds or more to load into a zone now. It wasn’t like that before the 10/7 patch.
Ori nodes not showing up as minable - Friend showed me spawns I see a ruined base like I mined it but I haven't, can mine 2 out of 5

On the one hand, I appreciate not feeling that I’m tied down to spending 30-45 minutes mining every 5 hours to make money and I feel like the change is a good one for the enjoyment of the game. Every minute I don’t have to spend in Cursed Shore or Malchor’s Leap is a good one.
On the other hand, I think it’s asinine to nerf the spawn rate THIS LATE in the game. People who build their legendary weapons already have had a significantly easier time of it than anyone starting the process now. If it had gone in like this at release it would have been acceptable, but this combined with exploits making precursors and Arenanet not removing them from the players/economy shows significant shortsightedness.
I’m pretty sure he will spawn grubs on clones/phantasms and possibly pets. If anything this is something that needs to be addressed because spamming greatsword 1 for 2 minutes in P1 sucks.
