I believe that the precursors that will be acquired through the Heart of Thorns Scavenger Hunts will be account-bound, and won’t be tradeable (as it would affect the market as you mentioned). I’ll find the quote on that and edit it here.

I’m not sure what you mean by ‘completion’. It seemed you cycled through the list of rewards shown in the legend for each map. I’m not sure how often the rewards per map will ‘rotate’. Daily?, weekly? more/less often?

Regarding the first question, there’s already the interview from Curse and also the post from ArenaNet. what is not clear is that on the Curse Interview they say you need to reach the Legendary Division in order to star work on the Legendary version of the Back Pack(what makes sense in some degree) but that is not mentioned on Guildwars 2 post, hence my question.

1) From the information we have read so far, it doesn’t sound like we need to reach the Legendary League:

“Earn league tokens to spend on PvP exclusive items like the back item Wings of Glory. Once you hit the Legendary division you will be able to work towards the legendary version of the backpiece.” – Source

That to me sounds like once you complete any tier of League, you will receive “League Tokens”, which if you gather enough of, you will be able to trade it for the first part of the backpiece (which can possibly then be upgraded through scavenger hunt achievements).

It is possible that there are exclusive parts of the item that will require a Legendary League status, but that depends on whether or not it is moderately simple for most players to reach that League tier; but from what I can imagine, it shouldn’t be mandatory (but that is just my speculation).

I have a few questions regarding some upcoming features, after some research there are still some things that I would like to see if there’s an official answer to it, not just speculation, the questions bellow are part of already discussed topics:

1.) PVP Leagues – To get the Legendary Backpack do you actually need to be on the Legendary League?

2.) Old legendary Precursors that will be attained using the collection system will we be able to trade them on trading post or will they be account bound?

3.) Regarding the Map Rewards we saw on Beta Weekend 1 – do tracks actually reset after completion or its a daily based reward? **

That’s a question that I cannot answer, I’m sorry to say. From what I recall, entry is determined by the folks at the door or the gates — not by the exhibitors. ArenaNet doesn’t have the means to invite people into the venue in advance of the posted hours, but you’re welcome to inquire of the gamescom organizers on what their requirements would be. If you don’t get in that day, stop on by when you get a chance!

- Can’t access a craft profession tabs if the craft profession is not active (E.G. if i have armorsmith and jeweler activated and i approach the cooking bench it will not allow me to interact with it)

- the title of the crafting professing shows unknown instead of the crafting profession.

for the last year I have been developing a custom CMS dedicated exclusively to Guild Wars 2, so you can see how this integration is an awesome news for me ( even bigger than the expansion)

The API is fully integrated on the system, its used from simple item views to fully track the user investments on TP

This is the cherry on the top of CMS, I really believe this will make our users really happy.

Many of us want more skills, weapons, races and classes. These are the expectations we have been told about months and months ago, yet we only got 9 new (useless and expensive) healing skills. So these are our expectations: what we have seen for the past two years is not the full potential of ANet. If what we had was the best they could do… I can make a better game on RPG Maker…

- But what if the game was like RPG Maker and the stuff you can make is limited by what the engine is capable of doing? You’ll see them making tokens, skins and new maps because fixing something fundamental like bad UI and collision problems is beyond their abilities.

Then I would simply say their game don’t deserve the “GW” name. There are things that are unavoidable (or really difficult to fix), but many of their releases aren’t even tested (and if they are… Well the testers don’t do much).

They shouldn’t focus on being too different, they should focus on being good. And that’s were they somehow got confused and “failed” to delivered quantity and quality.

It’s not a matter of limitation, it’s a matter of organization.

basicaly you are trying to compare a end-user grade product(RPGMAKER) with a full blown engine dedicate to the game, what’s the point? so where is this better game you can make then? how would you design the server side code?

This isn’t the first time they’ve made a new logo or even attached a title, however this seems to be the first case of them actually registering it. It could be a new expansion though it could also simply be the result of people complaining about free content and their response – marketing. For example, it could simply be a “box set” of season 2.

An expansion is plausible however and the current story is obviously building up to an introduction with Mordremoth. Although the title makes it sound small, anything is possible. Sure, why not, let’s get support from Cantha for example.

Yes, but I believe they would not sell something that they have already gave for free, also as we all know they always said that they were working on something exciting ( not saying is something that exciting :P ) but lets compare the numbers of content release from the beginning

on 2012 there were 3 releases ( the games was new so no need for new content, either way we got the holidays)

on 2013 we got 21 releases – all content ( most of them temporary)

on 214 we got 17 releases – from which 2 of them were feature packs, and the holidays were just a reuse of old ones, and no Dragon Bash …. (lets take in account the China release has taken some of the time of the teams)

my opinion is since there were no lay-offs like in other NCsoft studios, they should have been working on something.

I can see on how the China release may have affected the content on 2014 but even so we are talking about 8 weeks not counting the holidays releases that were just revamped with new rewards …

But as always this is just pure speculation … and as you said – a boxed product – why would they register a trademark otherwise if was not for selling something?

I am not saying this may be the logo for an possible expansion, but if you look at all the living story episodes, non of them have the dragon type logo, nor the Game name “GuildWars 2”, living world episodes have been using their own style backed by the “Living World” logo, I believe this is something different from the “Living World”.

But as always I am not getting my expectations high … *All Aboard the Hype Train is leaving

Maybe not but there were some ghosts and xunlai chests there that I had not seen there before. So I have no idea, plus new item creations have been created before with pre-existing items in the game. I don’t think anyone should dis-include recycling already implemented items in the game simply because of something new. Mawdrey was a good example

This is really great news, I have been waiting to see this live, just made a few tests looks really good.

one good thing would be before the documentation is ready if anyone of the API developers team can just post some of the parameters accepted by the commerce endpoint would be gold.

This announcement is kinda funny to me since I developed an Overwolf WvW helper last week.

One of the issue that robotempire.2451 pointed out regarding the api being broken, is kind of a shame for Anet to put a awesome contest like this but not fixing is API first, i know that there’s a workaround for the world names(i use it myself on the WordPress plugin for WvW stats)

but who grant us that with the next release another endpoint just breaks ( for example the matches.json) and then what was a great application is just useless due to the fact that the API is not working.

I think is a great initiative, but would be great to have the API fixed first and ensure that even if breaks, we have fail-over endpoints

The problem is only one – Release of new content – every time an update is coming this happens to the game. Why? more likely because they are pushing the new files into the live servers and then you see all kind of wired issues, infinite loading times on maps, lag on skills (lag in general), issues logging in … it does not happens to everyone, but there are always people that gets affected.

As an experience release engineer i can assume this is related with mismatch between the new files on the server and the files on our client.

would be great if a Dev can clarify this for us as well.

Yes, I see your points, Lilith, and I respect there are many different ways of looking at things. I just don’t want RD to feel bad, or betrayed, or somehow feel negatively towards us, as a company. That really is all I’m hoping, because I <3 ArenaNet and I believe we do right by our players.

Gaile, honestly I think the kind of attitude Arena Net is taking with this ( i will no mention the Cultural Armor) makes people just go away… if you check you will see that since i bought the game i have already spend over $2000 or more in this game, and I started to slow down on my gem purchase exactly because of this… why should I invest in something now if in a few days i could have something better, or a better way of seeing this is why should i bother to invest if the investment will no be rewarding against the guy that bought the pick now for the same money have better features?, and you guys just could upgrade all the mining picks.

I am in the software development business (for car manufactures) what do you think if our customers would do if I sold them a software and on the next month i sell the same software with better features to another client for the same price?? for one, i would lose my customers for sure…

please have the team at least reviewing this.

What happens if the players that actually put money in the game stop doing it because is just not worthy??

Hello first of all im really sad because this was the first light set i liked and loved for my sylvari.
I think people who bought it would keep it. I know many of you will call me crazy but the real fact was the set comes out, 20 hours later i payed for 4000gems to buy flamekiss and other consumables, weapons, etc to match.
I guess most who complained never bought gems.

most who complained like me for example, i have been spending money in the game since the head start and put together until now it will easly go over £2000 yes £2000 .

the point is simple, this is cultural tier 3 human, it should never ever been put to sell in the gem store, even worst for all races… this is CULTURAL ARMOR. end of story. otherwise next time would be some legendary weapon skins on the store

Hey, everyone. We’ve been reading all your feedback about the Flamekissed Armor Skin that was released into the Gem Store yesterday.

Although the Flamekissed Armor uses the same mesh as the Tier 3 Human Cultural Armor, it was not our intention to create an armor skin that so closely matched the existing Tier 3 Human Cultural armor set. The intention was to use the mesh as a basis for creating an armor set that stands apart and is distinct in appearance. However, after reading your feedback, we agree that the Flamekissed armor is not visually distinct enough from Human Cultural Tier 3 armor.

We will do a few things to address this issue.

• We will temporarily remove Flamekissed Armor Skin from the Gem Store.
• Players who have purchased Flamekissed Armor Skin will keep the skin.
• We will make new art for the Flamekissed Armor Skin that achieves our goal of making a visually distinct and attractive armor set and does not closely resemble the Human Tier 3 Cultural armor.
• Once this new artwork is completed, we will then update the Flamekissed Armor Skin so that all existing sets that players have purchased get the new art. We will also offer the Flamekissed Armor Skin for sale again at that time.
• When we update the Flamekissed Armor Skins with the new artwork, any player that has already purchased the set and who does not like the new, updated look, can get a full refund by contacting Customer Support.

Note that there is no ETA on when this change will happen. We need to work with the Character Art Team to determine when we can have a new armor skin ready, and this could take some time.
