15 Passion Flowers for 1 Exquisite Jewel?

Flowers are now up to 14s+ to buy, putting it at 10g+ for just flowers per accessory; this is absurd and the recipe needs to be changed to 1 flower per exquisite passion flower.

The stats are worth it for mainly support necromancers, and we didn’t have a good accessory alternative until now. But it’s absurd how much more expensive it is to be a support necromancer than a support elementalist since we don’t make good use of power and prefer condition damage.

I was about to make a new thread about this so I’ll just paste what I was going to say.

Why are passion flowers so hard to gather? The rarity of these makes crafting apothecary’s gear much more difficult than any other set. To make all 5 exotic pieces, you need a total of 375 passion flowers, and I haven’t gathered a single one from passiflora. The only passion flowers I have are from consortium chests, and they only seem to pop up one at a time.

Karka shells have a low drop rate as well, but at least they’re dropping at all. To make a full set of Apothecary’s armor, you need 180 shells, just less than half of the number of flowers you need to make the jewelry (and that’s 6 pieces, as opposed to 5).

It also makes no sense when comparing it to the drop rate of other gem options. Apothecary’s is just an alternative to cleric’s, and yet cleric’s is fathoms cheaper. Making one exquisite sapphire gem requires 5 sapphire orbs, an item that (1) is very easy to acquire by one’s self, and because of this (2) is very cheap in the trading post. Currently, one sapphire orb is going for about 2 silver, while a single passion flower is going for 8.
In other words:
-the required gems for a piece of cleric’s jewelry ~ 10 silver
-the required flowers for a piece of apothecary’s jewelry ~ 1 gold, 20 silver

What is justifying the ridiculous difference in value for this particular stat combo? I can only assume that this is some sort of fumble because I don’t see the justification for making the drop rate of a green-level item lower than that of a yellow.

I really like the points you make and I think it’s a really good analysis, the only quick rehash is that the gems for a piece of cleric’s jewelry vs apothecary’s.
Clerics ~ 10 silver
Apothecary’s ~ 600 silver = 6 GOLD

Flowers vs orbs – 1 orb per gem vs 15 flowers per gem = 5 orbs per accessory vs 75 flowers per accessory

Flowers are x4 as expensive as sapphire orbs = 10 silver * 4 * 15 = 6 gold

25 ectos, is 6 gold and 74 ingots is 3 gold, just so you know you can prolly add another 5g to to that XD

You think it’s an extra 5g for all 5 accessories? It’s an extra 5g PER PIECE! That’s 25g more for a full accessory set, even over berserker’s!

Every other Exquisite Jewel takes a single orb per jewel, why does the Exquisite Passion Flower Jewel take 15? Passion flowers are more expensive than ruby orbs at this point, but even when the market settles they’ll still be around the average price of an orb (and in my opinion more irritating to get because of the rng).

At current market prices buy order prices (7s), it costs over 5g per accessory just for the passion flowers and around 7g total including oricalcum and ecto; there’s just no reason for the jewel to take 15 times as much base material when everything else is the same.

Acessories with Dungeon Stat Allocation

In the current gearing system, we essentially have crafted gear and dungeon gear. Each dungeon offers 3 different statting options giving us wider variety of stat choices, some of which overlap with the statting available on crafted gear; but currently there is no alternative option for accessories (amulet, rings, earrings) other than having them crafted and choosing from the available crafted stats.

My suggestion is to give each dungeon a set of accessories with the stats exclusive to that dungeon so that players would be able to obtain Vitality/Healing Power/Condition Damage rings or a Precision/Toughness/Condition damage amulet, etc.

There just aren’t enough accessory options available currently. We should have access to accessories with the same stat allocation as the dungeon gear as well as have access to accessories without the use of a Jeweler.

It’s only on the cloth, and the fiery arms/tail is tied to the chest piece.

The arah gear makes me sad as a clothie.

The shoulders are misshapen, the eyes have freakish eyelashes rather than little wings and the pants don’t go past my knees.

I love my charr, but the state of the dungeon armor on them is atrocious. The only set that charr got some love in was the flame legion set. If it dyed darker and didn’t clip so badly with all non-flamelegion shoulders I’d never use any other chest piece.
