I managed to download a patch, but then got the attached window.
So currently some very slow “repairing data archive” is going on…
Still getting the same old message in England – I restarted the computer, which took 25 minutes as there was the previously-mentioned Windows 10 update to install…
Yes, I’ve got the “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” message too, here in England, switching on this morning. I did hope that switching off my anti-virus would solve it, but no such luck.
I’m just curious – why have I received no less than ten emails to tell me about “Heart of Thorns” being available at 50% off, in a fine assortment of different languages, when I already do have and play the expansion…?
Well, GW1 is still running, so we should be safe here for many years yet.
It seems a bit unreal to not be doing the daily achievements for my main account today, and to have more time for other stuff… it’s lucky I’ve got a second account, to keep things going. 18,495 points currently, I’d better stay alert for when that total stops going up. I don’t think I’m going to start doing fractals, PvP, or crafting, however, and only jumping puzzles when strictly necessary.
It seems strange that the game encourages one to do the dailies as part of one’s routine for about four years, and then suddenly abandons one. Weren’t the dailies devised as a way of encouraging people to play regularly…?
Still getting that remarkably unhelpful message:
Guild Wars 2 has encountered an error
The game client is unable to gain access to the log-in server at this
time. This is most commonly caused by firewall or router settings,
security applications, or connecting through a campus network. For

…………………………………………… Build: 16845
………………………..Error Code: 42:6:3:2158
I’m in the United Kingdom, using a Virgin Media cable connection.
Not just me, then, phew… same error code and build. I was playing fine this morning, UK time, but couldn’t log in this afternoon.
I was looking forward to having more choices for doing the dailies, so feel rather let down by the silly additions like Keg Brawl and Mystic Forge, and the disappearance of the five regular events – there aren’t many group events around, after all. And after this time, with five slots there aren’t many more story progressions to go, will I have to ration myself to one a day to make things last…?
Regular events are rather killed by the current choices, if they don’t count towards dailies. Poor Guard Barthol will wonder why nobody talks to him any more, and boy will Mona come up with some ripe language if nobody wants to escort her and her pack bull to Claypool!
