So you’re finally going to talk about Guild vs Guild… a week after the scene has for all intents and purposes, died on the NA servers. Well done Anet, lets talk about what we can do for the GvG community after all the top guilds on NA have retired or left game for ArcheAge. That’s what I call progress boys.

You do sound salty, glad you admit it. The content of your post makes it sound like some of these drivers you disapprove of had to go around and pull favors to be on this panel. This really isn’t about stroking ego and I doubt they could care more or less if they had been asked or not. If they have another workshop, I’d expect a different panel. As stated before, there is only so much time to organize something that’s not even supported by Anet. It’s quite easy to be dismissive. I could dismiss every single person on that list by linking them to some nonsense or another, but the reality is that regardless of what opinion you may hold for them, these are players that have had different experiences, success and failures that can prove to be of use to newcomers. I for one will hope that it will be productive and actually help.

PS: I couldn’t resist this one. Clerics and sentinels? Really? LOL.

If a small vocal minority yell loud enough, they believe that it will pass off as truth and some will be susceptible and believe it as the truth. Quite frankly, TW will be blamed a lot for ludicrous reasons. I am surprised IRON is still being mentioned, they moved to save their guild and it was a smart move on their part. The good things done will be forgotten, how many times has Indo pinned up and led publicly during EU and NA? Countless. What is this about us bashing the non “super elite”? Any time a warrior or guardian has had problems I’ve put myself forth to help with builds and how to apply the class in the fights. What I’m hearing is a personal vendetta and as such, it’s rubbish.

Just as Choo does not want to “carry the PPT” solo, neither does TW. Been there, done that. TW was responsible for making SoR BL feel threatening for many months. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect 1 guild to stay on a map forever and do the same thing over and over again. So to my friends in Choo, as I’ve said before, wish you guys the best.

But those that point fingers, you may go ahead and cry yourself a river because we dare to improve our guild, to practice for GvGs and have fun in the game. I have never seen Indo or Zorh yell at non-TW for following during guild raids, they’ve always been polite when running guild only. But please, let’s not act like TW playing for fights made the server crash and burn. Or are the people that are pointing to us for having this mentality admitting to not being able to think for themselves? If you wanted to play for PPT, you very well could have. No one forced you to not play WvW the way you want to. It is easy to blame a group but very hard to admit that you don’t want to take personal responsibility is it not?

We are very confused right now, probably because of binge drinking and twerking but we have established a solid reputation of destroying everyone and everything. We also have experienced leaders such as Zorks and Blindo who consistently wipe on inc. We are tired of gw2 and now we seek a server where Blindo can retire and casually RP in peace. If your server does offer a thriving leprechaun based RP community, you will be at the top of our prospects . However, we also can not be paid to go to your server. No, no, we can not be bought. Our marketing manager has come up with a brilliant idea on how to end up on the proper server. Whoever offers the highest gold assistance to keep us off their server will be guaranteed to not put up with our RP nights in EBG with the lord keep. Whoever offers the least amount of gold assistance, well, we will see you soon. Now then, any offers?

Before I get massively trolled, let me say that I’m not commenting about the mechanics in EOTM. Do I like how it’s littered with PvE nonsense? No. It gives it some flavor but yes, I think it’s a bit over the top. What I mean is, the day that WvW was decided to be a 3 way battle between independent servers, it was doomed to coverage warfare. 3 faction warfare has been successful in a lot of games before and EOTM does this in a sense. To accommodate so many people, you would need massive, massive maps as well as restricting mobility (no way points or fewer waypoints). Guilds pledging allegiance or players to one of the 3 factions would have done a lot for coverage imbalance instead of having this tier based system.

Would it be a super zerg meta? No, it wasn’t in other games because maps were large and you absolutely had to split forces effectively to cover the map. It’s been done right before and I can’t help but think EOTM is a very subtle experiment to see if this would be viable in the distant future. Thoughts?

PS: I’m ignoring the flood of qq about supply draining, distracting people from being in real WvW, etc. Imo, ppt is rather pointless when the system is severely flawed.

Thank you for you input so far. I should have been more clear on what I am looking for as well as offer some details about myself.

I currently play NA primetime, however, with certain changes to my schedule I will be playing EU prime 3-4 times a week instead of NA. My knowledge of EU guilds is limited hence I’ve come to ask for your input. Some guilds I can name are EXG, GD, IRON, RG, but the server is also an important factor in my decision making process. Deniara, as you say, skill does not revolve entirely around GvGs and Guilds. The server I am on now has a good share of commanders capable of taking PuGs and delivering the performance of an organized guild, we have 3 of those in my current guild.

The reason the server is also important besides the GvG guilds is that I don’t like to be entirely dependent on a guild to get my share of WvW. Where I am right now, we have little EU presence and lack commanders in this timezone to get a decent group going. By this very token, I will find myself playing NA whether I want to or not some nights but I don’t want to be in a situation where I’m one of the few people online and the only thing to do is PvDoor.

So I suppose creating a priority list is better.

1. GvG scene/Server with combat oriented guilds and PuGs
2. Server emphasizes open field combat during EU prime
3. Widely used community TeamSpeak or whatever VoIP
4. Optional: In an ideal world, NA also has open field battles and is not a game of night capping

PS: My stay will not be permanent, which is why I have not gone to guild leaders. I seek a stronger meta to play in, new and challenging opponents (open field and GvGs). I’m a seasoned melee class theorycrafter and player that wants more 15v15s, 20v20s, 30v30s, I’m just tired of 60-80 man zerglings and opposition that rather take a camp than get their hands bloody.

I currently play on NA servers and have played from tier 1 to 4. It’s starting to get stale and I’ve been told that EU is a bit ahead of NA in terms of meta and “skill”. I would like to go on a EU tour, so my question is which servers offer a thriving GvG scene and open field fights? (I’m not a PPT player nor will I play NA timezone so forget about recruiting for that purpose).

Throughout this match, most of the groups from SBI and SoS have been pleasant. You guys have fought, heavily outnumbered but still came to fight. This on the other hand last night at Veloka was just a disgrace. I don’t mean anything of the server, but just you guys in this screenshot alone are a disgrace. I’ve played in Tier 1, 2 and 3. I’ve seen Maguuma strategically wait inside bay for 10 minutes with 50, biding their time to get the upper hand and jump us and kick our teeth in. Veloka last night was pathetic and boring for us and dare I say, you guys. This is the first time I’ve seen a group this cowardly. You guys in this screen knocked down the walls and the gate while up there. Cool. Then you sat up there for 30 minutes while 7 of us were waiting, thinking we were in for a fight, ready to defend. Nope. You guys just sat there and kept on firing siege… at pretty much nothing, for 30 entire kitten minutes you sat on siege accomplishing nothing. You’re a friggin’ bore, you managed to kill no one while you were up there. Do your server mates a favor, leave and go to Anvil Rock so no one has to put up with your crap play, not your team mates or your enemies. Yeah, I mad. Luckily, an eternity later your teammates capped the overlook nearby and then came to fight us… all the while you guys still sat up there.

Anyway, shout out to TE from RISE. You guys bring it and it’s fun fighting you lot. Looking forward to seeing more of you throughout the rest of the week.
