Thought I’d leave this here. It’s roughly 1/2-2/3 of the bags I got while standing still on the ac. Fun fun fun fun fun.

Lol at the ele qq. Try disengaging with an engineer. Jump shot? Others catch up to you no problem, and slick shoes is never going to be on a bar. (Not to mention rifle 4 misses half the time you try to use it anyways).
Without having watched the SotG, can someone tell me any updates on necro if any are discussed?

Just as an aside… It’s scraps and arguments like this thread that build server pride. I can notice myself becoming more and more attached to HoD as the weeks go by.

I honestly can’t wait to see this, because I’m thinking that if you spec completely into turrets it actually will be viable now. It would certainly be a pretty fun build to use with cc and all.

Tbh I think the biggest mistake people make with the HGH build is spam all their potions at once and then have them all on cooldown during the fight. A HGH player will pop the buff ones first and the utility ones later.

Yeah that was a rough lesson when I first started running the hgh might build. As of now I use the healing elixir, healing tool belt and Elixer b tool belt right as soon as the timer starts, and the actual elixer b when the gate opens. The timer with getting the heal back seems to work with the start of the first fight. Grenades from distance, swap to pistol to proc more might and instantly back to nades until someone attacks you. Etc. that seems to be the best engagement pattern that I’ve found.

I lol’d. Hgh might stacking p/p is the best spvp eng build discovered/available.

ty to Henge of Denvari players GT guild and others that happened by for giving 1v1s to friends and me, we had lots of fun and enjoyed the time we share. My favourite part was the 30 minute duel between our guardian and your mesmer as well as the 2v2 and warrior that kept turning into trees. I wanted a larger group fight but server decided to reset because patch but w/e i still had gr8 time considering up until now i just meet dog GoM players in wvw

Hello! I think I may have been in the group that you were talking about.
I was the GT (though I may have been repping HoH at the time) engineer by Dreaming Bay/Greenvale Refuge doing 1v1s with a group of you (a thief, warrior, engineer and elementalist, though I didn’t fight the warrior). They were lots of fun, and a good learning experience.

Block The Ghostly [HoH] is recruiting for guild 5-man events in the upcoming patch. We currently have 3 very active players and are looking to recruit 10-15 more.
We are on Henge of Denravi, and would require you to be there as well. Our guild has been around since the beta, and has max buffs with MF buff constantly on.

The 3 of us are very experienced and looking for people who meet the following requirements:
1) 4,000+ ANet points
2) ~4+ hours logged in per day
3) Must represent the guild
4) Must want to run the upcoming 5-man dungeons in the February patch.
5) Must be friendly and willing to contribute constructively and listen to advice (constructive feedback in a not-harsh manner =P)

Additional pluses:
1) Having a personal long-term goal in mind (Legendary weapon, certain achievement goal, etc.)
2) Interest in SPvP (we started as an SPvP guild but stopped after the lack of interest in the game type)

Hey all. I fought a great hammer guardian today at Redvale Refuge around 12-2pm EST. I think he was GOM, and he had the legendary hammer. I’m wondering if he/she is reading this, or someone who knows him/her is reading this and can contact him/her, can they tell them to reach out to me in game? My in-game handle is “D I M H”.

Some tips for those goin for legendaries:
Do your clover recipes first if you can (1 at a time, not 10 at a time, because you can lose BIG doing 10s). Doing them as soon as you can means that you get T6 mats when you fail and this have to buy less mats later on.
Buy t6 mts when they’re low, they fluctuate in price a lot.
Do dungeons and dailies every day. It’s by fr the best way for karma (keep your jugs and drops, then use them all with a 50% booster, 15% guild boost and 5% guild banner to reduce how much you have to farm by A LOT).
AC exp is great for gold farming. You can get 4.5g in 1 hour with the right group, killing all tg bosses and $ champs with omnom bars. I didn’t do it because fractal weren’t available at the time, but apparently higher level fractals are great for farming gold through drops.
Be patient! For big ticket items don’t buy the posted sell price, post a buy price. It costs nothing if you don’t get it. Certain announcements make the prices rise an fall, so keep an eye on the market to save some $$$! Also, someone will eventually cap balth during your time going for a legendary, so check in on it now and then. Try to get enough karma for about 230-240 shards so you can make your clovers early.

Boy there are a lot of QQers in this thread. Legendaries are meant to be end-game items, accessible only after a lot of hard work. There are only 3 things I dislike about legendaries: 1) the exploiters early on with the less-than-level-70 rare swords being converted to precursors that we’re for some reason not banned. They could have at least deleted their precursors. The exploits early on really contributed heavily to the price gouging o the precursors. 2) the fact you can buy a finished legendary, because I HAVE come across 2 people who were so bad that they clearly didn’t earn theirs (compared to about 20-25 that I have seen that actually earned it, judging by their skill level). 3) the fact that the balthazaar quet is not only very difficult, but sometimes bugged for days at a time.
Other than these 3 things, I had a blast earning my legendary rifle. Most of the items I got over time from just playing the game, either by buying stuff with my earned gold or by getting drops.
Also, if you’re doing a mystic clover 10-at-a-time recipe, failing, and qq’ing: stop being a dummy.

I’ve been on the Henge of Denravi server from day 1. As many people know, there was a mass exodus from our server to other servers due to big wvw alliances moing to other servers and the band-wagoners following. Recently, though, I’ve seen a lot of leveling players around without guild tags (not bots either). And at the tail end of the winters day event, I got into overflow in LA and a queue in wvw for the first time since the big guilds transferred servers. I say that if HoD is growing, so is the population as a whole.

There’s a GoM engineer in the GoM Borderlands that will engage in a fight 1v1 with me and before losing, will log off. He/she’s done this 3 times in a row now, and it’s infuriating. Is there anything I can do about this?

I get about 11g/day from farming dungeons/fractals in speed runs. That takes me about 5 hours. I’ve got a good group that I play with and we enjoy doing it. If you’re making 100g/month, and doing what I do at the same level of efficiency, it means you’re playing the game for about 45 hours per month. I don’t think that rate warrants getting an item meant to be had only by the top 5% or so of players.

Look around at the environment that SilentStorm is running around in. That’s just a small sample of the enormous GW2 world, and people want to give it up because of Ascended armor? You were spot on SilentStorm, when you said that people complain when there’s “not enough to do” in end game but then complain when there’s additional content.
Please everyone, just give this a shot. Relax and play, and don’t worry about where you’re at because you’ll get the ascended armor soon enough.

A note about the flame thrower that I don’t see mentioned: I take the flame thrower along for the incendiary ammo tool belt skill and for the #3 knock back. If you have someone downed in a group fight, I switch to the flamethrower and throw the fire wall on them to degen them a bit and to keep potential rezzers away. It’s also worth mentioning that I run a rifle-power build.

Originally I had my account hacked and gold stolen, but was able to set up the authenticator and regain access. 4 days ago though, I was playing when a black screen appeared in-game while I could still hear the volume. I logged out and tried to get back in but was told that my account was permanently suspended.
I opened a ticket and got a response in 1 day saying that access was restored to my account and I was provided with a new, temporary password. I changed the password to a completely new one and tried logging back in but was told that my account may have been accessed by an unauthorized individual. I opened another ticket for this 3 days ago, and haven’t heard back since.
Hopefully this gets resolved soon, I want to try to get on for the Lost Shores event!

The jumping puzzles! I came for SPvP but stayed for the PvE. But hands down my favorite part of the game are the jumping puzzles, they’re fun AND absolutely gorgeous. Great job ANet!

Not to mention grenades are GREAT in team fights and sieging. I was sieging a keep today and there were arrow carts and enemy players on the ledge of the keep raining damage on us. You just have to lob the grenade to the lip of the wall (grenades have 1400 range with the trait) where they’re standing and they’ll get hit. It’s a great way to keep the rest of your team from being hit by the equipment and defenders while attacking the gate.

I’ve played engineer the entire time I’ve been playing GW2 now (about 600 hours?), and have worked out some good combos. Flamethrower is in fact very useful, but not by spamming 1. I keep it on my bar for the incendiary ammo and the knockback on the #3 skill. My tool bar is: Rifle, Medkit, Flamethrower, Battering Ram, Grenade Kit and Supply Crate. I like to switch up the flamethrower and battering ram from time to time though.
In this skill bar there’s TONS of CC. Freeze Grenade, Battering Ram, Flame Thrower knockback, Net Shot and the Rifle knockback, the last 2 being on quick cooldowns.
So that guardian with stability that keeps running towards you and ignoring your battering ram? Net shot him and unload your toolbelt grenade skill at his feet for a TON of damage. Don’t have enough condition damage so you think flamethrower won’t be useful? It doesn’t really matter, burning does a lot of damage without supplemented condition damage.
My personal favorite combo —> Freeze grenade and kite with grenade 1 until he burns down his endurance, then Net Shot→dodge roll next to him→Unload grenade toolbelt→Blunderbuss→Jump Shot. When you start the jump shot next to him, it does damage on takeoff as well. Even if this combo doesnt kill him, they’ll just be trying to heal for the rest of the fight anyways and as good as dead.

Interesting idea about the tokens.
My personal opinion is that lodestones are a rare as they need to be. I need onyx lodestones which are inching up to 2gold per lodestone, but I feel like it adds to the feeling of importance and satisfaction that a legendary gives you.

My account was hacked about an hour ago and I feel completely violated.
I was playing in the Cursed Shore, doing the Plinx quest when I was booted and a message popped up saying that another client had logged in. I told my friends in Mumble as much, and ran to get my phone to set up the authenticator (trying to log back in without it was unsuccessful).
I logged in within about 2 minutes of the initial logout with the newly-acquired mobile authenticator, and found my character at the bank in Lion’s Arch. I checked the bank and nothing was missing (although the fact they were at the bank tells me they were about to empty all of my lodestones/ecto/etc.), but whoever hacked the account took out about 17 gold. For some reason they left about 38 silver.
What’s more annoying about this is that I had set up the mobile authenticator 2 days ago but was getting kicked every half hour so unlinked it from my account.
I’m a dedicated fan of Guild Wars since the release of Prophecies, and really need some help with this.
I know you probably can’t reimburse my 17 gold, but I would like to know what is being done about this and that the person who took my gold will be caught.
I am not the biggest safety geek out there, but I am by no means negligent.
Please help!
