I’m going to make it, but I doubt I’m going to be having it viewable. It’s just so… bulky. The blade wing/leg things are cool, but that back piece is hideous. They should remove the “jet-pack” pieces and just make the curved part hug the spine of your character, That would remove 75% of the bulk… but that’s probably not gonna happen, sadly :[
How to best utilize this skin:
1.) Roll a sylvari with ‘leaf-like’ hair and purple/light green skin as a ranger
2.) Name yourself “Kerrigan”, “Queen of Blades” or “Sarah Kerrigan”
2.) Enter WvW, preferably with a guild full of skinny Charrs
3.) Command the Zerg
I seriously lol’d.
+10 internets.
Fantastic.
Wishlist:
1. Changeable “skin” color.
2. Remove those ugly looking blue things on the heavy helm/shoulders.

And, yet I still don’t understand why it is that GW2’s new content updates are 15 – 30 times the size of other MMO’s , such as FF xiv. And, they (FF xiv) SE can take away temporary holiday content without an update. Don’t get me wrong, I’m truly excited for the new update (altho w/my kitten isp may take hours), and am really sad about the changes & destruction in LA. After all, it was entertaining just to read map chat), but I loved the place, warts and all.
They can do this because all of that content is already downloaded onto your HDD. Each individual map is pre-rendered for each specific holiday. This is good and bad. Good because it means you don’t need to update whenever an event begins/ends, bad because it can take up a huge amount of space to have all those pre-rendered maps. It’s also bad because it means there is no variation in each holiday event.
She’ regaining her “sanity”, perhaps?
From my understanding overflows are supposed to work like this:
1. An instance in ServerA becomes full. The server checks to see if there is an existing overflow; if there is then it sends players to that overflow, if there is not then it creates a new overflow server (we will call it Overflow1)
2. Players try to join the instance in ServerA but because it is full they join Overflow1
3. An instance in ServerB becomes full. The server checks to see if there is an existing overflow; if there is then it sends players to that overflow, if there is not then it creates a new overflow server
4. Players try to join the instance in ServerB but because it is full they join Overflow1
5. Players continue to try to join ServerA and ServerB, but because they are full the end up joining Overflow1
6. Overflow1 eventually becomes “full” with players from ServerA and ServerB, so the server creates Overflow2 which are then populated by the excess of Overflow1
If this is wrong, then how does it really work because the documentation on overflow servers is vague at best.
During large events (such as the Marionette, or the Wurm) the server seems to be creating multiple Overflows at once. This can be vexing because you can end up with 2 or 3 different Overflow servers all of which are massively undermanned for such a large event.
The last Twisted Marionette event we did ended up with 2 overflow servers. The one I was in was barely half full, the other overflow had (apparently) even less than we did. Both overflow servers ended up failing due to a lack of manpower of the defenses. This makes zero sense to me, and I have seen this happen before. I have been in a party with other players and the party ended up being split up into different overflow servers, and neither of them were even close to being full.
Failed Marionette due to server troubles again. None too pleased right about now. Whoever is “managing” the servers should be canned.

We all know that Scarlet isn’t really a bad gal. She is just trying to dig out the bad guy from under Lion’s Arch who has been disguising himself as a Queen so that she can kill him and become the greatest Hero in the world.
All hail Scarlet!
Nudist armor skins, complete with gene- bricked
Seriously though… I would like to see some armor skins that aren’t ugly as sin on a Charr.
All the servers got hit with it.
Even, apparently, GW1 got hit with it.
This entire topic is why I play with my UI disabled half the time. facepalm
PLEASE FIX THIS. I cannot play the game anymore because I cannot sell any of the stuff in my inventory!
Exaggeration much? Just because the TP is down doesn’t mean that you “cannot play the game anymore”. Quit being such a drama queen.
Then how, pray tell, am I going to empty my inventory so I can run dungeons? I mean it’s not “unplayable”, I can still do stuff that doesn’t give loot.
And don’t say sell to vendor.
Do something other than running dungeons.
Salvage some of those items.
Sell to vendor (trolololol).
Use your bank/guild bank to store some of them.
Transfer some of them to an alt.
Go outside for a while. If the weather is bad, go watch a movie or go to the gym or do some other indoor activity.

I have the same problem. Most items are fine, but some items are cannot be bought for some reason, despite being “available”.
Pic attached.
edit: and now I cannot buy ANY items, right after posting this. It was just a few items, now the whole system seems to have gone down. Maybe this means they are “working on it”?

Nerf? More like “bug fix”. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just forgot to add it in. They are human, after all.
“Pics or it didn’t happen”?
In some instances “zerg content” can be enjoyable (random jumping puzzles with 50+ people, anyone?) but in a lot of instances it’s just plain annoying.
Most of the time I prefer challenging solo or small group (20 people tops) content. Unfortunately, some of the in-game mechanics (such as bosses being able to kill anyone with 1 or 2 hits) make this impossible.
I don’t know whether to laugh or cry… because it’s pretty accurate.

I went and looked it up, but the bestiary for GW2 is actually pretty small. In terms of possible playable races, there isn’t much. Unless, of course, the use opening up new, undiscovered lands as an excuse to introduce a completely new race (that, I’m sure, were completely undiscovered until the awakening of the dragons).
So let’s not leave out completely new races just yet.
We got the cat people (charr). Maybe we’ll get the dog people, or the lizard people… or maybe even the shrew people. (off to lala-land we gooooooooo~)
You should play a Sylvari Engineer named Scarlet Br- {*brick’d*}
You’re right, which is why Account bounding makes sense, not soulbinding…
And with a price of 2~3k Gems [which sounds about reasonable] I don’t think it’s “a little more than a whim”
Also you can easily limit the amout of changes and whatnot …
So if you get sick of your level 80, and decided to reroll a new character, you end up with a ton of really OP gear for your level… just so you can steamroll through everything like its nothing? That doesn’t make much sense to me in quite a few different ways. If they try to balance the game for that kind of behavior, you’ll end up with a bunch of newbies quitting because they can’t make it through a single quest.
In the long run it’s better for the game if they just keep it as soulbound.
You would be surprised. There are a lot of people out there who would pay that much on a whim. Look at very pay to win MMO in existence if you don’t believe me (and there are a LOT of those).
No. You chose your race, you stick with it. If you really want a Norn Guardian, then just reroll your character. It makes absolutely zero sense to be able to change your race on little more than a whim.
They soulbind everything because gear is cheap and pretty easy to get when you think about it. If they changed it so that everything was tradable, they would need to make gear much harder to get to compensate. The game economy would crash if they didn’t. Though with gear being harder to get, the price of everything would go through the roof.
I’m not sure if this is even the right place to put this, but here goes:
Are there any future plans (even tentative ones) to add new classes? I did a search on the subject, but pretty much everything I found is pure speculation.
But what’s nice with ranger sword is you have multiple offhand options. That is something that is not easy to find in most classes. To have 3 decent offhand choices? That’s nuts. And I like it.
Too much managing (ooc off-hand swapping) on a class that already requires a lot of management (pets), but that’s just my opinion I guess.
Main hand sword, hammer, longbow and rifle DPS is utter trash, so no, they are forced in to using main hand axe. Greatsword autoattack is bad too.
I’ve played a Warrior, and tbh I did a lot better with Sword/Axe+Greatsword than any other weapon combo.
I will agree with your comment about the Greatsword auto attack, though it can be very useful as a swap because of the other weapon skills.
I actually laughed a little at this entire thread. I don’t play a ranger, but do you people not see the problem with the fact that Rangers have to use a very specific weapon set and pet combo just to do a “decent” (which, apparently, is still pretty laughable compared to most other classes) amount of damage? AFAIK, no other class gets kittened this hard.
Is it also a problem that warriors are required to run at least a mainhand axe to do decent damage? Of course not, stop trying to make out rangers are the only class who are expected to be using certain weapons.
Warriors can do a decent amount of damage with almost any melee-range weapon, provided they build correctly. They don’t have to use an axe. Yes it’s optimal, but it is not the only choice they have. When it comes to DPS, there is a huge gap between sword+feline and any other weapon+pet combo you can think of.
PS. What crawled up your kitten and died? You seem to be in an extremely kitteny mood, based on your posts in this thread alone. Step back, take a breather, and try not to be such a bloody kitten.

Necro. In pve anyway
When it comes to weapon choices for a decent amount of DPS (for their class, not compared to other classes) they have a better range of availability in PvE. Yes, they have an overall DPS problem, but it’s pretty balanced out regardless of weapon choice (few exceptions).
From what I’ve seen Ranger damage pretty much sucks unless you use sword+feline.

Weird. I tested it a few times and I can’t get a notification or a reward for any waypoint that is near the entrance/exit to a town, including asura gates.
Update:
The Eastern Watchpost Waypoint in Hoelbrak also has this problem. I’ll post it here instead of creating a new thread (I can’t edit the thread title?) because it’s the same issue. I’ll post any other ones I find in this thread as well.
edit/
I think every waypoint near an entrance/exit of a city has the same problem. I just encountered it again as I left Hoelbrak into the exploration area. I haven’t tested this yet, but it seems to be the case. Is this a bug, or is it deliberate?

There is a level 16 quest in the Ruins of Oldgate area in the Diessa Plateau where you need to defend an NPC called Rhell Crankmane as he sets up “Ghost Control” machines. This quest is currently bugged. If the NPC dies you are able to revive him, but the progress bar becomes frozen and you will be unable to complete the quest. The quest does not seem to reset, even if you leave the NPC dead there for several hours.

The Ligacus Aquilo Waypoint does not give a notification when you find/activate it like the other exploration points do (waypoints, points of interest, vistas), nor does it give any experience for finding/activating it. When you find/activate the waypoint it still counts toward your Black Citadel exploration chest.
Not really a huge issue, but still kind of annoying.
-Angel has stated in semi-recent Interviews that 2014 will include a good deal of Sylvari content.
Sometimes I half jokingly wonder if this was backlash to the infographic which showed that players used Humans more.
“Sylvari are 4rth place?! That’s it more Sylvari updates until we’re #1!”
Out of all the non Human races Charr and Norn are more exciting, well to me anyways.
Interesting… I’d like to see the latest numbers for this.
