Windows 8 - No mouse cursor?

I know this is an old topic, but it is still happening. This just recently happened after the last update. The only way I could solve it was going to full screen windowed mode, which was very hard to do when the mouse doesn’t show up unless it hovers over something selectable. There was another solution of removing pointer trails, but that wasn’t even checked on my computer. Wish there would be a fix for this.

My machine:
windows 7
core 2 duo 2.8GHz
8GB DDR2 800MHz
nVidia GTX 460
Asus Striker II Mobo
(all drivers are up to date)

What I don’t like is when I get downed as a mesmer, or warrior, or theif (that is all I play), if I take damage, I get a cooldown on my healing skill. A ranger doesn’t get a cooldown when he or his pet is damaged with lick wounds. If I am downed, and being attacked, unless I kill the other player and rally, there is no way for me to heal. A ranger using lick wounds, doesn’t have that problem unless the pet is interrupted or pushed away. You have to counter the pet instead of dealing just damage. How is that not OP. If I don’t have a skill that interrupts, then I have to run away to get out of combat, switch skills, then come back and hope to God that the ranger isn’t up, which they will be. My warrior doesn’t have an interrupt in WvW and sPvP. I use a more defensive build. So am I a bad player because I can’t interrupt a healing pet? Yet I can be killed in seconds by any class that is doing damage to me while I’m downed. The ability is OP because it doesn’t follow the rules everyone else has to play by. The pet healing should be removed, and the ranger should have to use the normal downed heal like everyone else. sPv kitten upposed to be on equal grounds, where you bring the skill, not the class. Super healing pets are not skill, they just ruin the game for everyone. I have killed and been killed by rangers, and I don’t mind it. I understand when someone is better than me, as there are a lot. But, being unable to kill a hunter in the downed state is excessive in the least and should be fixed or removed.

I am asking for a limit on the range my mesmer gets ported. I say no more than 1200 instead of over 2000 that happens to me all the time.

The problem I see is that it doesn’t have a distance limit. I can cast feeback at max range and then run out say really far, and then get ported into the huge group and instakilled. If it had a limit on range, then I would be more ok with it.

I definitely isn’t a guardian. It is a teleport from over a 1200 distance. Same on the scorpion wire, this is instant and I teleport. And I use the into the void all the time, and that is the same as the others. I can really only remember this happening in WvW and sPvP. Like I said, it has happened more than once, and 2 times within 20min just today. I wish I could get Anet on this one.

I have an issue with the skill Feedback. I have cast it multiple times with it porting me to the location where it lands. This has happened more than once and it is really annoying. I wouldn’t mind in PvE, but in WvW, it is horrible. I was in a huge battle with at least 30 people on each side of a bridge. I went in and cast Feedback, only to be ported right in the middle of the other team. I don’t understand why it does this. Is this a glitch, or is it somehow reflecting some other person’s teleport at me? Any help would be great.

Going through the Abbey Ruins in the Plains of Ashford, I found out while on the stairs that the Ascalonian Peasant isn’t wearing underwear. I didn’t have to look due to the way she fell on the stairs. I went and killed other mobs in the area, but its only the Ascalonian Peasant that isn’t. I Have included some photos. Anet may want to fix this model as it might not be appropriate for children.

I suffer from motion sickness myself. This game isn’t as bad as others I have played, but it still gets to me sometimes. People don’t realize motion sickness until they get it. I suffer from vertigo too, bow that is something I don’t want triggered from playing a game. Anet needs to bring a FoV slider.

To the OP: This is only a helpful tip.

With your system, you should really look into getting a 64bit OS. You have all that ram and not even half of it is being used. It’s a waste of good ram. If memory serves me correctly, a 32bit OS can only support up to 4GB max ram, and 1GB will be reserved for the OS, so only 3GB will be used everywhere else. Since you have a 2GB graphics card, that means only 1GB is used for the game with system ram. I could be off, but I think that’s how it works. Anyway, get a 64bit OS. You will utilize all of your memory, and any more you decide to put into there. It is a huge boost in performance when a system like that is able to be run without constraints.

First picture is showing the Berserker’s Masquerade Leggings with the Carrion Flame Greatsword. It has some major clipping issues. Second picture is the same leggings with a Fiery Dragon Sword and a Chimeric Prism Focus. The focus not only clips the leggins, bu the arm as well. Mostly, any large leggings will clip and weapon. My character is a Mesmer.

Looks like it was the graphics drivers. I reverted back to the 304.79 and it fixed the issues. Apparently, the issues actually only showed up in towns (yes I know I said it was Black Citadel only), as I found I hadn’t gone to any other town yet since I installed the new drivers. So, 304.79 it is.

I have a pretty decent rig -
6GB of DDR3 1600
Core i7 2.8GHz Quadcore
iNvidia 580GTX 2GB w/ 306.23 drivers

My Issue is that there is a certain section in Black Citadel that my Frames Per Second drop from around 40 to 4. I have all the settings maxed and in any of the other towns, I don’t have a problem. My screen resolution is 1920×1080. I have not experienced this problem anywhere else. Even when I fight the world dragons my FPS only drops to around 20, and that’s with like 50+ people and tons of mobs.
I included a picture of where it’s happening. This only happens there and the rest of the area is just fine. Hope its the game and not my system.

NPCs in storylines need more of AI please.

I am very tired of NPCs that are supposed to be on my team act as if they are fighting for the other side. I did the storyline where we are supposed to save a group of vigil (I think ) from Mount Maelstrom. To start, you go into the mountain and there is a split immidiately where you can go right or left (both lead to the same spot after about 30ft). The problem is, I went right and the NPCs spit up where half went one way and half wen the other. It wouldn’t be so bad, but there was a lot of mobs on either side, and aggro-ing both was a pain.
Now here is the really bad part, I attempt to res one NPC (they all died to that pull), immediately, he gets up and runs off down the tunnel. But he doesn’t go after the first enemy, he goes after the 4th one that would never have aggro-ed in the first place. The others did the same when I got them up. Now, finally I get to the champion at the end. My guys are dead, again, and there are about 3 mobs before the champion with all these spectral weapons around him. So I say, “hey, why not res my 4 guys so I can have help?” And what do you know, the first one I res runs all the way to the champion and attacks him, all the while, the mobs he aggro-ed on the way come up to me and wipes me. This happens 2 more times until I can kill everything and fight the champion on my own.

This isn’t the only story mission that this has happened on. The one where you have to destroy the Orr ship that is carrying the dead food did the same thing to me. Just getting on the ship all my guys die to the claw things that whip you back. So I kill that one off, attempt to res my team as I am out of range of the other claw things. First guy I res doesn’t attack the claws that are 3ft next to him, no. He runs into the ship and down below out of my sight. I figured he died. So I res the next on. He does the same thing. All of them that I res’d ran off into the ship. I stayed to kill the other things on top, and then start for heading below deck. But since all have died, I have to deal with the massive mob that comes running out from below.

I understand bugs in a new game, I truly do get it. But it’s the consistency that they show up over and over again that makes me angry. I can’t complete a lot of these storylines due to NPCs aggro-ing random things, or getting stuck on a twig, or constantly fighting re-spawns and not following me to get away.

There was a lot of problems in GW1 with heroes having bad AI in a lot of ways, I was hoping that those problems would be dealt with in GW2. I do love this game, don’t get me wrong. Just please spend some time getting AI to work. let me command them (in the storyline) like you could do to heroes in GW1. Give me something please.

Same bug just happened where the guy doesn’t die at the end. I only knew he was supposed to because of this page. I assumed we were supposed to save him, so I rushed in to kill the champion thing.
On a little side not. The cut scene was pretty awful. I am not usually one to speak out, but this just confused me really bad. How is it that the NPCs and I are fighting this champion, then a cut scene happens where the champion runs off after one person, all the while, I am just standing there letting it happen. There should have been no cut scene at all. It broke all sense of reality. Only one guy came to help the girl out. Did my whole team just stand there eating some omnonberries??? If the guy is supposed to die, then have him die in the cut scene. Or, just let me save him like I thought I was supposed to. The text in the cut scene didn’t even match up with the voices, and the last part of it, there was no audio.
I understand trying to push a story with cut scenes. A lot of them are pretty decent. But there are others that there is just no emotion in the voices.
