Make the win bonus 200 or more is my suggestion.
Funny ya, but still, why is the thief special in this regard? Noone has explained that to me. Go ahead, tell me why only the thief should require you to dps him dead instead of a stomp.
Did I say I don’t know how to kill a thief? No, I said why is it ok they need 3 stomps when they can stomp just about anyone on the first? Explain it in a rational, well thought out sense, if its possible for you…
You get downed by a thief, he stealths, stomps you after a stealth and you are boned. You down a thief, you stomp, thief ports, you stomp again thief stealths, finally 3rd stomp goes…
Taking 3 stomps to finish him off vs he can stomp there isnt a kitten thing you can do about it.
Did not read rest of topic.
When I play S/P or D/P heres how it goes.
I stomp you.
I hit Black Powder. press Finish, you miss and die. No stealth needed. It’s generally faster.
When I play /D? I hit Cnd, press finish, you generally die but a Ranger can ocassionally interrupt in stealth real advantage is basically just your teammates ignorance. When facing another Thief?
I press finish, he warps, I press inf signet, shadow step or steal. If he timed it right I just roll over to him and press finish again. There is a delay between when Smoke bomb is ready that means if you react quickly you finish them anyways. Generally thieves can take next to no time to finish, and because they have low health you can swat them dead in no time as well.As a Warrior/Ranger vs thief?
I down him, press Finish he warps, I roll 1 time over to him. Press F. He starts the animation to Stealth, but gets finished before it completes.
I win. No stress, whatsoever. Worst case Scenario, he warps, I start unloading shots/slashes at him, he dies in 2s.
Yeah, thieves are quick to stomp lol sure. They take the longest of any class in game because it takes 3 stomps. I am not saying remove downstate, I like it. What I dont like is everytime I down a thief, I need to stomp them 3 times, or dps them down. When all they need to do to stomp me is stealth or blind. What is so hard to grasp.
They dont, they help you stomp non movers on down state( ie not thief, not mes, not ele).
Ok and you thought your first post was an answer to the thread why?
How do those help stomping a thief? Haste maybe but its buggy at best, you go through animation quick but ive stomped plenty of people with haste, there is a sec or so between the animation finishing and the stomp actually taking place. I’ve seen rally, fear just about anything break it after the animation has taken place.

stop playing hotjoins.
and who cares, glory means nothing.
Thats your suggestion? Stop doing it? Why even post…
Obviously I care, I guess being competitive is bad.
There is something crucially wrong when at the end of a match a zerg that loses the match has atleast double glory of the players on the winning team. This is getting very irritating. Zerging will always be prevalent regardless of the pt system. However, rewarding it is very bad, rewarding it by so much is pretty lame kitten design imo.
40 pts for a match win will never compete with the amount of pts you can get from ignoring pts all together and zerging for glory. Might I suggest 200 pts for a win or something. It has to be substantial to entice people (strange as it may sound) to win the match.
Shrug, the topic of the post says my experience… To me that says my opinion… Ofcourse its not a fair comparison, the OP even said that. So, all you people saying bad comparison or thats unfair because gear, thanks for wasting your time typing. Because get this…… THE OP SAID THAT. Its an opinion thread…
Now Imo, after have both the same classes at 80 now. The ranger adds alot of support from just the one ability healing spring. I never see anyone mention the fact that it is a 15 second (50 percent up time) water field that if your party knows how to interact with brings WAY more healing that just regen.
Thats not to say I think the ranger has more support than warrior. I run a shout build on my war also. I think the war edges out the ranger supportwise… Although to be fair they can be somewhat different methods of support.
O P I N I O N !!!
The stats I run with in sPVP anyway (just got 80 so havent geared yet, I play too much sPVP hence just now hitting 80 lol) seem to be great all around. I try for a middle of the road with decent of survive, dps etc.
power 1910
precision 1710
toughness 1316 (1281)
vitality 1809
attack 3010
crit chance 42 %
crit damage 20
armor 2380 (2345)
health 24,012
I find it lets me survive quite a bit, deal sufficient damage and is nice all around. Ive tried many other set ups and this one suits me perfectly.

This is my build, GS and Longbow, Im sure ill get boo’d but it fits me right…
(edited by Damage.7493)
Just wanted to point out to the OP about healing spring… While you are using GS for a secondary, you can get 2 swoops inside of 1 healing spring. That adds like 2 to 3k heals. Also removes a conditions which is always welcome.
Some good ideas going around… I havent seen this one on this thread yet so I’ll add it.
Sword, reverse monarchs leap so you leap first and leap backwards on the 2nd press.
Correction they tried to shoot themselves in the foot with the shortbow but it got obstructed.
Id love to have the first attack in hornet sting work in reverse also… Great idea.
Downed state is ok. But in sPvP all professions need to have the same Skill Set
in PvP

If Ele mist forms the other team scores points for it because the form downs the ele again… Yeah, thats OP lol. Atleast a necro can delay one stomp right after he is downed. Ele gets a root lol.
Honestly, there does need to be some balancing around them, I’ll give you that. But pick a better example next time 8P
Thieves and mesmers have it far better than any class I have played when it comes to downed abilities and escaping a stomp.
