Guild Wars 2

So I am starting to delve a bit into PvE and I have quite a number of laurels saved up so I was looking to get some ascended trinkets. Whilst looking at them I realized that I don’t know if I should be grabbing trinkets with offensive, defensive, or utility infusion slots (I totally grabbed a Red Ring of Death ages ago without even considering those options). How important are they and which ones should I go for when playing a strictly PvE build?

…what is the likelihood that they will follow the current model for crafting the various components? I am currently sitting on the pieces for a gift of mastery and since I do not fully like most of the legendary skins (I mostly want one for the ability to swap stats) and because I do not see myself ever getting a precursor using the current method, I just want to know if it would be a waste to craft it the gift?

I am starting to look at getting ascended armor and I was wondering what would be the safest buy right now as I dont want to waste time/resources on things that I will not use. Since pvp doesn’t affect things, my options would be Rabid (for wvw as I like conditions there), berserker’s (the go to pve set), or assassin’s (according to this guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wjZhKTy9b2w, assassin’s is the way to go). I was just curious as to everyone’s thoughts (especially regarding that guide as I found it very persuasive, but contrary to what is posted on here). Thanks!

That is just super disappointing. I will try your setup-what build are you using?

I know that when in comes to doing PvE and dungeons in gw2, straight up power is the way to go. However, I have found that I really dislike using the GS and that Sword/Focus is too broken to be effective. Additionally, when doing WvW/sPvP, I really like using the staff. Are there any decent builds for dungeons/pve for the staff that won’t immediately brand me a noob?

I am still rather new to this game (been playing for around 2-3 weeks), and as I am approaching level 80 with my Mesmer, I am having a difficult time coming up with a build that suits my playstyle. My playstyle usually revolves around being more defensive and supportive (was a Priest back when I played WoW and I prefer playing support in LoL), preferably from a distance (thus my decision to not play a Guardian in this). Thus far, I have really disliked the chaos that is pug sPvP so I mainly play PvE and WvW. I don’t mind not really doing damage so long as soloing in PvE isn’t horrific. Are there any builds/weapon selections that I should look into?
