Pretty unplayable. After max. 5 minutes ingame i get the dc.
Server: Riverside
System: OS X 10.9.4
Provider: University (not the reason for the crashes)
The Client repair function worked for me this time.
I go into the 4th round with TP issues…on my MBP (late 12, i7, 8Gb, mavericks) the TP works sometimes. On my mid 2010 iMac i5 12GB, mavericks i dont get it running. I completely deinstalled the game and reinstalled it…no effect. The kitten thing does not load. And if the blank screen disappears sometime i get a good oldschool entry mask with nice grey buttons and fancy font…..
Does anyone know how to fix that?
Refunds…gifts…are you serious? I want their money spent in a working client. And don#t call it beta. This is a windows x86 port and no beta.
The fix worked for me. I appreciate your hard work! But i have to say…this is not the best way. It cant be a suitable solution to let the players fix the bugs by themselves.
I’m excited about the update tomorrow.
This is a bug concerning their earnings directly and they don’t care for over one week (not only 3 days). For me it’s a sign how much they care about the mac com at all. We are too few, even too few to earn money with(?). I dont’t know why I’m surprised, the last TP issue took even longer to fix.
…
This is a wishlist for mac users. As you can see we struggle with more serious problems than content based stuff. But your points were nice to have
I post my wishes with an descending priority ordner
1.) An in depth testing before launching updates. This should be no offense but in the past some updates crashes the game for the mac community, which could have been avoided.
2.) Fix the TP issues. This is a constant issue, every little update could change everything. I don’t know why the TP is that sensitive but it would be nice to have it more stable. (and maybe quicker…if it loads?)
3.) Graphics. I have definetely no gaming computer but i think 12Gb and an i5 quad could do more than that. This is up to the cider port for sure.
I have 3 wishes (beside the one big wish: A native Client). I want to say you, that i appreciate your work here. The communication definetly got better. Nevertheless if nothing changes this month i will run bootcamp. Especially if the great update brings us bugs/issues/crashes. You’re missing a great chance by underestimating the mac gaming potential.
More than one year ago a friend of mine from GW1 told me GW2 is for Mac too and I was really enthusiastic and bought it instantly. And the list of improvements is inexistant (please correct me if I’m wrong! Hotfixes doesn’t count.). It got worse. I really look forward to the upcoming changes and really hope for improvements.

I tried it yesterday…found it on my own, thanks anyway The local.dat saves some of your personal setting, e.g. your login data or your graphic settings,
And…tadaaa…it doesn’t work (for me) -.-
I give up.
I understand your point but what i can expect is that it doesn’t get worse with nearly every update. Offering a beta client implies for me that someone cares about it. This is happening for sure, at least someone cares…but in my eyes halfhearted. When you just have to run an update on OSX before launching it to see that it will break the game means not that much effort.
I’m totally okay with some non criticial performance issues but in the end i bought this game to play it. In the moment it frustrates me very often. I’m up to run Bootcamp…Anet you got me this far.
I used to delete the “local.dat file” before login. 95% the TP functions normally.
Can you tell us where this file is located?
It definetely doesn’t work for me. I tried to delete the App Support GW2 folder and redownload it. No connection could be established and i had to restore the old folder….anyway…the problem stays.
[Edit] It doesn’t even work with the PlayOnMac Client…that always worked before. Strange.

Blank Screen. Always i can’t do anything to fix it. Cookied killed, temp. Files deleted, restart. I can’t even visit the gem shop. A bit annoying because my guildies have to sell my stuff…
Does anyone know how to fix it? Does the old fix (TG Update) still work and does anyone have the link?
Same here; Mid11 27" iMac i5 12Gb Ram.
This is the second update which locks the mac users out. This is not a little bug…we are not exaggerating, the game can’t be played. It stays just a game but it’s really dissapointing that the updates are not tested on a Mac System before launching them. The critical bugs as the FPS crash, the tradepost unavailability and now the game crash could have been avoided by simply running the game on a Mac. Please do that in future…
Anyway….Thanks for your attention, Matt.
iMac Mid 2010 27"
2,7 GHz Intel Core i5 Quad Core
12 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB
OS X 10.9.1
Played in 1920×1080 Windowmode
Large amount of Players result in a huge fps drop, only playable on the lowest settings and in wvw still 10fps or less.
I can’t stress it often enough: Mac users deserve a native Client. Please work on it, i bought this game because i can play it on Mac without bootcamp or any tricks/emulations (okay cyder is an emulation too…but the game is oficially supported for mac). It’s great to read that Arenanet cares about mac users but in my eyes this is not enough, you need a mac team working on a Client. We invested/invest money into this game and we get Lags/Errors/>50% Hardware loss.
I’m really looking forward to a native Mac Client, please make it happen.
