Honestly the hardcore gamer will have it but most won’t have more than HDTV level resolution for the next two years at least. As you pointed out, your monitor and video card together is over $1000. Sure there’s a lot of upward growth since just about everyone is at 2K res or less but it’s not coming soon. 2560×1440 I can believe but not the 4K 3840×2160 monitors.

And again…. you make me think about how silly you are. Who cares if 4k is a minority. Just because you’re broke and can’t afford high end gaming equipment, stop throwing out your stupid statistics to attempt to justify the game not supporting 4k. If it supported 4k it wouldn’t effect your mainstream economy class settings.

Well the Steam Hardware survey shows all of 0.02% have 4K res screens. Even if you toss in “unknown” it’s less than 2% with monitors over 1920 wide and most of those are the 2560×1440 ones. We are still talking $500 plus and all those pixels likely also means a beefier video card setup which then needs a beefier PSU to power it and better cooling to keep it running a peak speed rather than Chernobyling your box.

Sure not as much a lot of uber video horsepower for GW2 but if you are blowing $500 and up on a monitor of that resolution and size, you aren’t just playing MMOs.

I love how you just ignored his question and threw some numbers at him. Everything you said my friend is irrelevant, I’m here researching this because I also have a 4k setup. I would like to see GW2 offer more support for those gamers that do invest in 4k. We want things bigger and better and it can make gamers leave their beloved games when they spend upwards of $500 on a monitor, or over $3000 to build a beast only to find that one of their favorite games doesn’t support it reasonably.

Your contribution to this article makes me shale my head, because I see someone who can’t afford UHD 4k and had to go out if his way to type a silly response that did nothing at all.

Exactly.. nail on the head with my feelings.. It’s not about the $50.. if the content justifies it.. Call me odd but add a character slot and take the Core game OUT of the package, and I’m fine with the $50…. I hate that other peopel will get it for half of what I paid for it..

Especially, this will cause an influx in the cheaters which have previously been banned, because now they get to jump back in and don’t need to buy the core game as a prerequisite

It’s not JUST the $50… It’s $50 for the Expansion (without an additional character slot) and it includes the Core Game.

Thats the problem…. We already have the core game, we feel like we’re buying it twice and not getting anything to show for it.

Why should people who purchase the expansion also be forced to purchase the core game for a second time?! There should be a package that inclused the core game and HoT, but seasoned players should not have to purchased the core game again in order to obtain the expansion! That is a big pile of B.S.

I am also very disappointed about this. I think most people are missing the point that people like me are upset about.

If you’re a new comer to Guild Wars 2, then you would have paid $50 for Guild Wars 2, the Core Game and the Expansion.. While veteran players the source of ANets, renewable income are paying $100.

If you already have the Core Game, then I seriously doubt that you would actually obtain a secondary account. It just does not make sense to have the veteran players purchase the Core Game twice, and only have one account. You’re not being fair to those who have been loyal tot he game. Also, you’re not even giving the people an additional character slot for the new profession, unless that want to cough up another $25 and get the deluxe edition (for spend $10 for 800 gems in game or convert in game currency).

It just feels like the seasoned players are being milked for every penny, while any new comers to the game would have paid HALF of what the seasoned players have had to pay. This just.. does… not… make… sense.

There needs to be an option for the people who already have the core game to be able to purchase the expansion on its own.

Well, this is a classic debat of how nothing but Zerker status are useful in PvE. For the most part I can agree, however I’ve always done my Guardian as a full support class in PvE also. This may provoke debat about the effectiveness of doing so. But none the less, it is what it is. <3

Have you taken them off and reequipped them before? if not its probably what Nevets suggested about the MF(and you probably won’t be able to reequip both if you take one off). If you have, then they have different item codes for some reason.

Best I can figure When A-Net decided to not allow duplicate identical unique items, I already had them equipped, and when it went into effect it didn’t un-equip them, and the matrix had a glitch…. so to say.

Both of the rings are infused, if you look at both photo links, one ring has a total of +10 AR and the other has a total of +15 AR.

fishball, I have had these rings equipped for over a year at least. These are easily back before the new fractal stages were added, and I believe at least one of them are before the ring were able to be purchased from the Laurel Vendor.

I believe that one of these rings originally was not infused, but upgraded in the forge. The interesting thing about one of these rings is that when I ping it to party chat, you and your party members are able to see the Agony Infusion equipped to the ring. Which is really odd.

Ok, so today I was doing fractals, and I received another Ring of Red Death [Infused], and I wanted to add it to my Mesmer who already had one. A buddy in the party informed me that this wasn’t possible because it was a unique item. I was baffled when I couldn’t equip it, and assured him that on my Guardian, I in fact had two identical Royal Signet of Doric [Infused] rings. Well, my friend thought I was jerking his chain, so we had a big discussion about this, and researched the internet about it. Well, as it appears, we can not find any reference to anyone having duplicate identical ascended rings.

So here are screen shots to show what I am talking about, has anyone else managed to equip Duplicate Identical Ascended Infused Rings other than myself?

WTF am I reading….

If you do Solo Que, then you know there can be nothing more annoying than having that person who clicked to join Solo Que and then just went AFK or decided at that they were going to drop and go do a dungeon or WvW 30 seconds into the match.

These are rated matches, if people leave these matches the penalty should be severe! No one cares about a little 15 or 20 min dishonorable status, particularly now that the reward tracks are implemented, there is a lot of PvE players who just come and try to get the reward tracks, they don’t care about their stats, or leaving the match for that matter. Dishonorable status must provide more of an incentive to actually finish the match. Please increase the Dishonorable status duration to like 3 or 4 days for people who leave matches prematurely. If you join a rated match and leave prematurely, then you lose the ability to join rated matches for 3 or 4 days! I love the sound of that.

There also needs to be a report feature for match manipulation, on several occasions we have qued for TPvP with 4 people and decided to pug the 5th. We’ll go in and fight Example Guild, and oddly enough our 5th is a member of that Example Guild and will literally throw the match and make us do a 4 v 5 by running around in circles and laughing at us trolling the whole time.

Higher end TPvP isn’t worried about Turrent engi… Ya sure it can be annoying, if you don’t want to run meta build then you need to be able to deal with the meta builds and stop crying when you fight meta builds. There is a difference between Turrent Engi ruining PvP and you just getting mad cause you can’t beat any team with a turret engi. Learn your class and learn your role. Stop the Q.Q

Wise up man, stop screwing with your gamers. You guys always make a great game and do stuff people love, then you just literally try to make people hate your game over the next few years after people have already bought it. You don’t have to fix something that isn’t broken, if was fine before!

Everyone with half a brain can see that you’re only trying to make the conversion using in game gold more problematic as a ploy to get people to use their credit cards. We’re not stupid.

This make me so angry, you had a system that work just fine, and now you change is 2 years into the game. This is because you want to force people to use their credit card to buy gems by making it so people can not buy the exact amount of gems they need, or do anything with the small amount of left over gems!

Anet, you always make a good game, then you spend the next few years breaking it and making people hate it. Get off the crack pipe kittens!

I can not use the trading post at all, every time I try to it doesn’t load and I get this error message:

net::ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED

I have not found anything on the web about this, and not being able to use the trading post in any form (Gemstore, Currency Exchange or Trading Post) is a real issue

I purchased some gems from the Black Lion Trading Post, and I used these gems to buy the Pirate Outfit because I wanted it on my Mesmer…

I’m 90% PvP, and guess what… if I’m wearing the outfit my clones to not duplicate wearing the outfit also, they are wearing my normal armor, which means that the ACTUAL Mesmer stands out like a sore thumb, and that my purchase was very disappointing.

It also does this with Mesmer Skill Blink.. the only way to get unstuck is to do an emote such as /dance

but really in a TPvP Match, you’re dead just as soon as you get the fact that you’re not actually Immobilized, this really needs to be fixed.

Maybe you don’t grasp that the people who made Wildstar are the same people that made (and are breaking) Guild Wars. NC Soft makes great games then spends a few years turning good work into total crap.

After I drop Guild Wars 2 I will make it a point to avoid games with an Arena Net or NC Soft tag attached to it…. I just can’t take these guys anymore after Guild Wars, Aion and now Guild Wars 2…

I’ve read another post from Jazhara Knightmage.4389 saying that macro mice are not allowed because everyone doesn’t have them so it isn’t fair? By that logic we should start banning people who use VoIP’s such as Vent and TS, because not everyone uses them a team of 5 on a VoIP sure will beat the crap out of another team with no active Voice Communication relying on typing to coordinate efforts.

We are talking about a marco mouse to do a short attack chain, NOT a macro that you start and go AFK while it farms loot for hours on end. There is NOTHING in the Anets OFFICIAL terms of service against using a mouse macro. I seriously doubt that LogiTech could have released the G400 MMO Gaming Mouse with a profile designed for Guild Wars 2 without having the consent of NCSoft and/or Arena Net.

I put it to you, using Macro Mice are fine, it’s not an EXPLOIT or a HACK, and there are NO INJECTIONS into the game (You sounded so ignorant there Jazhara Knightmage.4389), and it’s a functionality that is publicly available to EVERYONE who can muster up $30 – $50 to buy a gaming mouse. Point Blank, if you don’t like it go buy a mouse to join everyone else in the wonders of being a gamer with gaming gear.

If there are any RECOGNIZED OFFICIALS of NCSoft or Arena Net who feel they should update their legal disclaimer then I will reconsider my stance on this subject. If you are not an official from Anet or NCSoft, then please don’t try to pull a Jazhara Knightmage.4389 and attempt to sound like you know what you’re talking about.

Today in Structured Player vs Player Paid Tournament, my guild and I noticed that the members of the opposing team were logging out of game to the character select screen and changing their character and re-entering the match to counter act the Team Composition that we were using.

Needless to say this was EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. This needs to be fixed ASAP, after you enter a tournament match free or paid, you should not be allowed to change your character…

P.S. – Is it possible to actually fix the Ghastly Shortbow’s Animation?!
