Its much more difficult to get a successful raid party or specific instance, requiring certain meta builds and to re-gear /re-stat to enter an instance. What if there was a system to allow saved profiles of build stats/gear sets. Even with a cost involved with switching/saving profiles and buying more profile tabs… it would still be great since so much requires either switching builds, or switching characters just to play an appropriate role.
Alright, so the 64-bit client has so far been successful in solving my crashing issues elsewhere in the game, but while running it I have crashed every time I have attempted to enter “A Light in the Darkness” story instance.
In an attempt to test things, I loaded the 32-bit client and attempted to load in… successfully. It appears that this story instance loads in my 32-bit client but will not load in the 64-bit version. I have sent the error report that was generated by the crash reporter, but I will paste it here as well so that it might be easily seen and forwarded to those who need to see it.
Edit: Asking around in map chat confirms others having the same issue, whether going into their own instance or joining another player.
I have left my character Ovan Thorne by the entrance and am logging out for the night if a dev wants to take a copy of that character.

I get a crash every time in the same instance as well. I have since completed it on x32 Game Client with no issues.

I have always been able to run GW2 on Ultra settings @ 1440P, with dual monitors – browsers open, etc… but I agree with this post, and have encountered so many daily crashes while attending world boss meta events; I was close to giving up.
Dual Nvidia 980s in SLI
AMD FX-9590 @ 5.2 GHZ
32GB Ram
Win10 x64
It seems the problem lies within the gigantic population of players (which of course is a good thing!), maxing out memory since the client is x32 instead of any 64 bit version. For the time being; I reduced shadows from ultra to high, set frame limiter to 30, reduced LOD by one setting, and reduced character model limit by one as well. I haven’t had a crash in two days now – fingers crossed until this issue is resolved. I still have ambient Occlusion and all other DX effects checked/turned on.
It would be great if there were a 64 bit client made available Anet (hint hint, nudge nudge.) Assuming this is the problem.
That being said; Loving the new Xpac Anet!

My PC:
Geforce gtx 660Ti
intelcore i7 2600
8GB RAM
win 7 32 bitwhen i play world bosses game crashing in other aspects not
and i ask what gw2 have problem with wb?
Change your OS to 64 bit.
64 Bit OS has nothing to do with it – Until they create a 64 bit client. It is a limitation in the memory allocation/capacity of the client since it is a 32 bit game client. The fix should be: them creating a 64 bit client for us.. but NCSoft/Anet seems to take forever to do things such as this until its the last resort and they pack their wallets first.
Have had some issues with crashing due to processor threading issues (known issue with the game) in the past, and those issues have jumped since the release of HoT. Unsurprising, but I know how expansion releases tend to be unstable regardless of game.
Honestly, it has gone smoother than most, far smoother, but instabilities are going to be a fact of life for about the first month or two. I’ve played MMOs for over a decade and I have not seen a release come without problems and bugs, a lot of them. That this game has had fewer, if more problematic, ones, is both a credit to the devs and an indication that they’ve taken care of the easy to fix ones.
Fixes, mind you, which can easily be the cause for this problem. If you’ve done programming, or any development work for that matter, you would know just how easily a fix to one problem can cause problems elsewhere. Especially in a game as complex as this.
Anyway, enough of my rant there.
A few fixes:
Run an installation repair. You can do this by creating a shortcut to the game and modifying the shortcut target in the properties window to “Full Guild Wars 2.exe path” -repair
If that doesn’t work:
Uninstall the client, redownload it, and reinstall the game.
If that doesn’t work:
Check your drivers. If your GPU drivers are up to date, roll back the drivers to a previous update. If the drivers are not up to date, update them.
Worst comes to worst, shut your system down, let it cool, fully unplug it and disconnect everything. Then open it up and clean the inside. You should do this periodically anyway to maximize the lifespan of the machine.
I agree with this – I only wanted to add: Check the last 2 options you mentioned – 1st. As these are simpler solutions before re-installing/downloading the game.

Alright, lets start off this rant topic with an small word of gratitude to the game devs, you did an fantastic job carving the jungle. it looks amazing, the story is amazing and the specialisations are amazing.
however, (yes here it comes)
The issue with HoT isn’kittens content, its the stability of the maps. now what do i mean with that? allow me to explain. The issue at hand is the numerous crashes, today i was on Dragon’s Stand (ds) trying to get that shiny lay energy converter. i have played this map start to finish, wel, tried to play it start to finish.
In the course of an hour, i experienced 19 crashes, 19… let that number sink in please. 19… yes 19,
This issue is not isolated to ds map, every single map has an major meta event which i gladly participate in, they are enjoyable content which is really well made, the isue however, is crashes. shocker right?
Every map i have played on in the major meta events resulted in nothing but pure frustration after crashing to desktop multiple times. i have tried setting up parties so i could rejoin the shard i crashed from (the active meta map) with little to no succes, yes i was able to rejoin but only to crash to desktop 5 minutes later.
I have used an heroic booster tonight in ds meta map which i commanded on, which was practically wasted, i was able to get an kill on maybe 15-25 mobs only after to crash to desktop, i have seen multiple chests which i was running to to pickup and before reaching them crashing again.
Its an shame, that i have to turn to forum side like this but my frustration has reached its limit. Enough is enough.
When can we expect some form of stability improvements to the game? I am aware the devs are working on this as i am typing this, HoT is now live for nearly 2 weeks. over this time there have been plenty of updates which were targeted at improving the content, fixing bugs, exploits, and all sorts of things.
As to close this post, is there any compensation for people affected by these numerous crashes? it ruins the HoT experience to such an degree where i am inclined to just leave the HoT alone since it creates more frustration then pleasure when playing said content.
If anyone else is experiencing what i am, please, post your story and let the dev’s know what you think of it, be polite and considerate as you always are.
And PLEASE, don’t quote this main post, I’ve seen it multiple times in topics.. just don’t

Twilight Vol1. Legendary Collection.
Modnir Ulgoth still give wrong pieces of collection (“Overlord’s defeat” instead of “Modnir’s ruin”)
Agreed – After completing this event daily for over a week.
^ Game has 7m registered accounts.
Let’s say, for your argument’s sake, that you read 100 thousand angry posts.
How does 100.000 represent 7.000.000 ?Forums are NEVER a good source of information for videogame satisfaction, people don’t go to a forum to talk about how great stuff is.
That’s why companies use other metrics to know what their playerbase likes.
Numbers mean absolutely nothing after an F2P conversion!!!! Have you never played MMOs before and seen the intrusive bots and gold spammers? I have had to block a ton of new whisper spammers this week!. Once ANet blocks the IP; they simply create a new account, and BAM – new player added to the numbers game. On top of that – the number doesn’t mean they are active players…They could have rage quit too.
Saying “the majority are annoyed with the expansion” is bluntly wrong, GW2 hit top 4 on Expansion Release day, If anything its brought even more players to the game kitten many positive reviews were made in twitch chats across the majority of the Streamers who streamed HoT Release.
The majority of Streamers and Players in game and via Twitch are Expressing nothing but love for the new elite specializations and New content released with this expansion, claiming the expansion has 0 raids?…. there was a ENTIRE video showing you the kitten Raids of this expansion you trying to say they last minute deleted all the content?…. Prolly unlikely have i been IN the raid zones, No… but theres ALOT of evidence provided which says they are in the game.
What else did you expect?…. As already said, Does anyone Reach top tiered Armour Within a half a week of Expansion Release? no… how about Before they’ve finished the Map Completion in the new zones? nope, EVERY MMORPG IN THE GOD kitten EXISTENCE has something in the game that actually takes MUCH Longer to achieve, just because GW2 ignore gear laddering doesnt Suddenly mean EVERYTHING proffession related has to be instant.
this is the Entire “I dont wanna pay for HoT” war all over again in ANOTHER aspect of the game, Im sorry, but EVERY MMORPG follows the trend of a Character progression, Weather its a Gear ladder, a Secondary levelling Source, Hero Point grinding Level Grinding Raid Farming or Whatever it exists in Every MMO, Just like Expansions Cost Money in EVERY GAME RELEASED..
this is why GW2 concept is great and also bad, Because Players become Adjusted to the Idea of 0 Effort for Everything and paying Nothing to be Entitled, its a great game but U never see these arguments about how quickly you reach the top in any other MMO because they are already come to terms with the fact each Expansion they’ll Spend 6+ Months Grinding out to have Everything…
Note: 6 months odd of Character Progression is BOX STANDARD for a MMORPG, if your looking for Instant pay offs, MoBAs are ur field of play, and Welcome to why MoBAs are Quickly taking over the Vast majority of gamers.
Incase you’ve NEVER Played EQ1 EQ2 or WoW, some of the very orginal bones to MMOs (i know they werent the first, they were some of the first to make the genre big)
Generally – a Expansion would Force you to Rip through 5 – 10 levels before u may even START grinding on character Progression, THen generally they’ll Rip u through grouping Just to qualify yourself to raid, this in itself for a casual player could take Multiple Weeks, thats right WEEKS to see the raids, Once you’ve Reached this point your on a Endless Spree of Farming with WEEKLY LOCKOUTS to achieve tier Armour.. to slowly progress through Each difficulty of Raid to achieve the Next stepping stone, Also some of these actually have Legendary weapons which take MONTHS of grinding.
Thats right MONTHS without having what they “paid for”…. Welcome to MMORPG History… and Welcome to what a MMO is…
lol your point is ridicokulous. #top4 lmao OOOOHHHHH
I totally agree – I sent a ticket for this, and never received a response.. I think Its BS that if it fails; it still uses your item. It is no fault of our own…so therefore: the player should not be impacted. The worst part is never receiving any response..like they know, but could care less. Leaves one feeling like its intentional, even if it is not. I feel like an idiot since I used 7 of them…I guess apparently its my fault for trying instead of receiving a system message warning me…..
I would love to see a system in which we can view our sent messages, and delete or save them just like the inbox messages. Its nice to be able to confirm your message was sent, and at a later date – still refer to it if neccessary.
Keep up the good work ANet!

Alliance of the Twisted (TWST) is recruiting active/friendly people to join the family!. We are a mature, casual, but actively social guild that provides help in information and gameplay to every single member. There is no requirement to do anything you don’t want to.
We mainly focus on PvE/RP but, as our guild grows; we are getting more involved in PvP /WvW. We do daily events independently or as members suggest them (such as jumping puzzles, group event spawns, dragons and dungeons.)
Guild boosts are up 24/7 (EXP, Magic Find, Karma, and Gathering). We have all guild upgrades (and we are currently working on Guild Mission pre-reqs.)

Sweet..ok I feel stupid now…but the problem has been resolved…the people that I was inviting to guild had pending invites…which was sorta stated in the error message. cheers
I myself am the guild leader, and getting this as an entirely new problem for me. I had 25 members and could not invite a 26th when i tried. When trying to apply for a larger guild license at this point; I received a message stating that my guild does not have enough members to upgrade. So at this point; I am at a complete Catch 22.
It’s hard enough trying to maintain a small guild and gain/grow without this problem, but turning away possible members has now made me extremely frustrated. Please let me know how to resolve this issue. FYI: I have no pending invites to other guilds, and belong only to this one.
Is not working. I have never had “overflow” issues until this. Now we can’t even run Dragons or Events because we are bumped to an overflow? And we are on the server! Makes no sense that “guests” bump actual server players. This has to be fixed soon. The game has become too laggy…and now we can’t do the content. Not sure we will be able to stomach this for another week.
I’m so glad you posted this. I completely agree with this. At minimum, I would love to see a system in which actual server players were somehow given priority to stay before the guesters. Maybe there could be a warning system, to offer a heads up while you are teleporting. For instance, currently; you can teleport to a waypoint right next to another and be sent to overflow. If a warning message popped up such as, “currently this server is experiencing a high volume of traffic and may send you to overflow. Do you want to continue teleporting?” In this event, we could decide whether or not we wish to continue traveling with that risk.
Thank you for listening and hope you guys come up with something. Thank you ANET. Keep up the good work!
