Me:
Casual-ish adult player
Love PvE and WvW
Very new to structured pvp
Been part of RP-PvP guilds in other online games in the past
Located on dead Stormbluff Isle and would like to SEE PEOPLE
Looking for:
Guilds with events on a weekly basis
Guilds who are also casual-ish, but hardcore in one of the aforementioned categories
Guilds that will help me out with my goals and will also let me help with other peoples goals in the game (Like Karma farming, raising wvw rank, fractals, etc.)
Orr related activities at some level
I had started playing off and on since the game came out with a semi large group of friends, but none of them play anymore. And while this game is fun, challenging, and ‘soloable’, it doesn’t feel much like an MMO experience to me. I guess I’m looking for that experience again. I wouldn’t mind transferring servers. But I don’t want to leave this game for another because I don’t feel like I’m having a multiplayer experience.
Mail me in game! Or leave something here, i’ll always check and I do reply to my mails
Spent 3 hours on last boss. Still never got it down. It is seriously a luck fest because there will be times I don’t get a single cannon shot at me, not one. like I can just stand there for 20 seconds and be 400 yards away from danger. should remove artificial difficulty and just make a kitten pattern
WHAT IS IT I WANT IT OMG
This is what I bought today, but it had an attachment for many fans so I’m using two.

But something’s changed, I’ve found out my problem isn’t temp related.
I’m at the point that wherever I log in now, I have a good 5min of play time before my laptop shuts off. The temps at that time were actually pretty low, so I’m glad this stand is working on keeping it cool.
Now I just need to find out why the game is shutting my unit down right away. And it just started doing it too
This rig at the time was $1200 :S I’d hate to have to upgrade again.
I had recently cleaned it out and have this neat cooling pad with two fans to adjust whereever they blow, but the temperature barely changes. It saves a few degrees but still gets so hot. It hasn’t crashed YET, but I’m afraid of the long term damage that could happen.
When I asked the guy where the cooling pads were, he mentioned little individual cooling pads for GPUs and stuff. Do “gaming laptops” come with them already? I’m so technologically illiterate… :C
Maybe get a new cooling system?
Update: GPU rises to 70C in very very light WvW activity
i’m sure this issue has been brought up before, but how about for a laptop?
I’ve been playing gw2 on this laptop since launch and only recently has it been overheating stuff. (about since I started doing southshore/WvW and even some leveling in human starting zone)
It gets hot, like really really hot. And I’m sure its the reason why it crashes.
I play other games, but its doesn’t burn my lap :C
Specs:
Processor (Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM Mobile Processor (4x 2.00GHz/6MB L3 Cache)))
Memory (4GB [4GB x 1] 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM [Laptop Memory] – Corsair or Major Brand))
Video Card (NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M 2GB GDDR3 Video [W150HRQ])) Primary Hard Drive (500 GB 5400rpm Serial-ATA Super Slim Laptop Hard Drive))
Network Card (Built-in 10/100/1000 Mbps LAN [Laptop]))
And running Speedfan it reads that my temps are as follows:
GPU hovers around 50C
and my Cores around 90C
or at least its what it reports
Any tips?
I run a static party with the same guys all the time. It’s usually a:
Elementalist specializing in healing/regen
Mesmer with GS specializing in control and filling the field with 6 more targets for the mobs
Necro piling on condition damage
Elementalist using air/fire for lots of dmg.
I don’t even know where to fill in honestly.
When we run, I just do a standard shout build with FGJ, Shake, and Fear
(Stacking fear in a PvE environment is almost as good as stacking blinds imo)
But as far as weapons, I’m switching around so much that I end up just giving up and either +/Axe to spin in combo fields, GS to (2), and S/S to help stack the bleeds to 25, or +/Shield to stand in the crowd and block everything while my party does all the work. 90% of the time, I just Juggernaut to blowout mobs in crazy pulls…
In a way I feel useless, because I don’t have a set role, and all my traits that aren’t in Tactical feel like their going to waste. I feel like I’m in such a hole that I end up just stacking magic find to leech from them and it sucks.
Should I just build glass cannon? Or deal with the versatile, do everything, but be sub-par compared to the party?
Currently, Rings of the Sun God and Sun God Totems have the same stats and same karma prices, which can be fairly normal. However, they take up Accessory slots instead of Rings for the rings and Accessory for the totems. I went to some other karma vendors and there are some issues like that as well. Is that working as intended or an oversight? I spent 1600 karma on these really nice upgrades thinking the names of each item would speak for itself and didn’t check the slot placement until after I noticed I couldn’t equip them all.
