Remember, remember:
It doesn’t suck your life away and force you onto a grinding treadmill; it doesn’t make you spend hours preparing to have fun rather than just having fun; and of course, it doesn’t have a monthly fee.
“it doesn’t make you spend hours preparing to have fun rather than just having fun”
Or so they said: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-design-manifesto/
That’s exactly what’s wrong with gated class mechanics.

…
GW2 promised a grind-free experience for vertical progression, but it did never promise a progression-free experience.
You’re confusing masteries (progression that I am looking forward to) with class mechanics (that I paid for as part of an expansion).

May I pay another 50 dollars to unlock all the elite specialization?
50 dollars is worth less than the time I would waste on the HP train for my 9 charactersThis.
Except that I already paid $100 :/

It’s not bad for neither players nor developers, it’s not unheard of in the gaming industry that you have to play new content in order to access new abilities. You’re just plain lazy and want everything unlocked on day 1.
LOL
This would be like making me do 10 pushups at the cinema before they hand me a pair of 3D glasses – cause I have to work for seeing a movie in 3D (new mechanic).
Of course it’s a game – entertainment that I paid for. That’s why I’m lazy and would like to have my class mechanics on day 1 please. Content – I am excited to spend the time to uncover it and be awed with every mastery.
How I play my class… Not so much – I just feel locked out of the entertainment I paid for.
PS: this is really bad for developers because they are effectively forcing tons of players to run around with empty traits – ineffectively, and are declaring the core game obsolete (hot is worth 10:1 core HP and you can get everything you need in hot skipping all core content). Bad bad. :/

Gating core game mechanics like that is really bad. How will we test / know a player joining our fractal party / dungeon / raid / etc even has the elite line unlocked vs just got the first trait with 60 points and runs around with empty traits?
How is this making things any better?

I don’t understand why they’re doing this. It’s bad for players and bad for developers.
For instance, I main an ele but at this point I won’t even bother unlocking tempest to try it as I think it will be a waste of time given the info we have so far. So I am better off switching my main to something I really want to play since it takes such an investment for alts / changing main.
will not play!
*
to end up playing an under-powered warrior with a conjured hammer that completely locks me up of my class mechanic.
I am struggling to play this class, and I am sick and tired of coming home from work only to have to put 4 times the effort other classes put in to achieve much less than other classes do. Yes, I am asking for a “break”. It takes 4 times the number of buttons and 4 times longer to do anything with an Elementalist, and then you try any other class with starter gear and you realize it’s not even funny.
In short… when I selected this class and I read the class description: I did not read that I am selecting a handicap / hard mode to play this game.
I have invested way too much time and money for me to be considering to play an alt at this point. I paid quite some to unlock all inventory bags and infinite gathering tools (real $), plus and all gear items are all soul bound as well. So I see no way to start over with something else and still enjoy this game and I am unwilling to pay again for the above.
Therefore, I am kindly asking for a clear answer to a simple question:
a) will Elementalist ever get fixed, or
b) you think everything is just fine as is and the problem is with me == this is not the game for me?
I guess worst case scenario is one lost player, so they couldn’t care less about it, or this post… still I thought I ask first.
It is obvious they think eles are OK… the ele patch notes are far and far between. Get used to it or reroll.
We’re being very mindful to carefully shave it so that:
- We don’t hurt other areas of the game where the build may not be a problem, as it is in PvP, and
- We’ve already seen counters to this build showing up (there’s a thread talking about the Warrior countering this build, and to what degree) in the meta.
So, we will be “shaving” the build a little (we don’t want to over-correct the issue) and seeing how the meta adapts.
Shaving vs Whack a mole. We want to “shave” as much as possible, and not do massive improvements/reductions to classes. This means making slight tweaks to classes, rather than massive changes which can upset the balance of the game. A lot of times we use spreadsheets, generate the baselines for a given type of skill, and then bring the outliers up or down, depending on where they hit. Sometimes very slight tweaks can have massive implications.
Just like the ele got “shaved” with a double CD in all game formats? After which all professions got buffs and trait polish… when the ele got nothing. But I guess eles are “OK” to quote…
If you don’t want to balance three games, you should not be developing three games. As the way you combine them now, which is just for your sake as a developer, it hurts and frustrates everyone else.
There is:
– balance through equal satisfaction
– balance through equal frustration (everyone is equally annoyed with every one of the three areas of the game)
Why do I get the feeling you’re going for the second just because you’re stubborn to see the obvious?
As things are now, I just wished ANet dropped PvP completely so I get rid of that random annoyance of unneeded and frustrating nerfs in PvE – which is treated as irrelevant in terms of balance but is obviously the focus for updates otherwise.
As long as you’ll build a PvE community that will hate the PvP community because of random nerfs, and the vice-verse… you’re not going to have this harmonious “don’t need to party, GW2 is all about players cooperating” as you fracture your player base to the core.
(edited by Delius.1968)
PvE ele is top-dog dps since mobs don’t dodge.
Not sure what you’re on… but if you’re talking about LH and FG – you do realize conjures pretty much remove the entire class mechanics of an ele (access to 4 elements / 20 skills) at which point you’re far better off playing Guard or War.
Getting downed means no DPS and your conjure is gone :/
Weapon swap. Needs to happen. Don’t want eles to be PvE mobs anymore.
This will never happen and it’s a bad idea anyway. It won’t fix anything.
Whoever keeps arguing Eles are in a good shape is delusional… or I don’t know how else to call it.
Whoever thinks that the solution is using a conjure weapon is even worse. Conjured weapons entirely remove the ele’s class mechanic. You’re not even playing an ele at that point.
So no, you can’t be saying eles are fine because some conjured weapon can make some damage in very squishy and very special – almost gimmicky – situations.
And it’s not his guild to blame for wanting a more effective character in their teams. It’s ANet’s lack of interest in pve balance to blame.
Sure – most content you won’t care. But where you do care (dungeons / fractals) you get tired indeed trying so hard for mediocre results even when played flawlessly. I for one am with the OP.
Tired and tired of all the fanbois who think we’re doing just fine cause their gimmicky build is “okish”.
LordByron pointed out exactly what I meant – given I play PvE mostly.
At the end of the day, I think there was a lot of usage and a lot of cry about mobility nerfs because that became part of the signature of the class. There are people that picked this class just for that and most that picked it for other reasons got very used to it and identified with it the elementatlist when they were playing.
But disregarding RTL in particular or other exact nerfs. I am sad to see two things:
* developers don’t care about PvE, and/or think PvE balance is a joke
* balancing acts don’t care about how fun a playstyle is – just the numbers (makes sense for PvP, some sense for WvW, not that much for PvE). Do mobs care about my “OP RTL”? I would argue they would care much more about the OP DPS of a warrior.
Where numbers are extremely important, I agree – numbers should rule. In PvE though: how about “having fun” ruling the balancing decisions? Was Ele ever OP in PvE? Quite the opposite. So why did the fun got taken away for some numbers in PvP while all the problems are left still there and untouched?
And the breaking point for me was when I started realizing that:
* just because I am an ele – I am less effective to my group than if I were another class
→ others don’t necessarily like me, or want me in their group, they might just accept me with an inner sigh, and even when I give it my best (which is way more involved than other classes) my contribution is not anywhere close to remarkable for the rest of the group.
* they nerfed a couple of things where I was talking a lot of fun from by playing an Ele, and now I don’t like it that much myself.
--—————
So other people don’t like me in particular in their group, and my fun with the class was kitten so I see no reason to further develop / play my main. And came to the forum to say that ANet shouldn’t nerf “my fun”.
It may be too innocent / stupid – I don’t know, but I just am not sure they put everything they need to in their balancing / nerfing equations. And I think that’s why most people complain on this forum as well. Not because the numbers don’t make sense, they most likely do and the nerfs were most likely needed in PvP… but they took away part of the signature of the class and everyone gets a weird feeling that they’re not playing the same character they used to.
My stupidity is still hoping they might just make Eles fun again, and reading every update notes hoping and hoping… but update notes for Ele as of late are usually short and it becomes more and more clear they don’t care about it. They only care about the numbers in PvP.
I don’t know, take what I’m saying for what it’s worth – pbly nothing Thanks for listening, though I am pretty sure nothing will change so as someone suggested above, I know I should just adapt or move over.
“Is it fun?” ANet asks players playing an ele.
I’ve been thinking about this, and I haven’t been complaining about the endless stream of nerfs as of late for the elementalists, at least not so far. But the only answer I can give now is: “It was fun, but not anymore.”
I am mostly playing PvE, rarely WvW and even more rarely PvP. I wouldn’t say I’m a very good PvE player either, I guess.
I used to have a lot of fun on my ele, and one of the major reasons I did was its now nerfed mobility. Those nerfs removed a lot of the identify that the previous play-style has given to the class… Not sure if that play-style was intended or not, but it was there since launch and got taken away.
So I was thinking to turn the table and ask ANet: was it worth nerfing the fun for all PvE ele players because a few PvP players were not having fun? Is the goal of everyone to have the least amount of fun?
I kind of tried to understand the argument behind all these nerfes and general lack of buffs, while all other classes are getting much better updates. I understand the reasons must be in pvp balance numbers… but I simply don’t care about it.
And then… I rolled a Guardian and everything turned easy mode with 2 key presses instead of the 20 key presses per second the ele required to do some damage while constantly needing to heal.
And then I’ve been following my Warrior friend and see him roll through everything, when I might be doing as little damage that I don’t even get credited for participating into an event I was at with him in a party.
And then I realized that it took me many minutes more to kill a single PvE target compared to other classes that finish things off with the autoattack while standing still or even being afk.
And quickly you learn playing support is a waste of time that gives no credit for anything in PvE and won’t even mention dungeons and fractals.
So where should I be looking for fun in playing an ele? And why is the strategy to constantly nerf the little fun eles have and not even isolate the nerfs to where they matter or needed (PvP)?
And now I am too invested in my ele, and was trying to get the 250 SP and etc (for a legendary). So I cannot simply change to another class or character unless I get back all my skins and start allover again for all skill points I need and etc. So the only option is to keep playing the unfun ele.
And then I quit and go away for a while. And then I want to try again and come back and get the sad smile again and quit again.
So no… I am not having fun, stopped having fun a while ago simply because I am trapped in a class that is just the equivalent of hard mode for even less rewards than other classes. And that’s not what I’ve been told at class selection screen. And ANet never cared about PvE balance at all since they launched. So I guess we’re not given many options here and the future doesn’t look better either…
What’s their strategy? Cause I don’t see it.
TL;DR: I disagree with their nerf it all / update strategy but I’m stuck on my ele and not having fun with it anymore.
So yes, i play the victim card, as the elementalist got nerfed, nerfed again, then kicked while he was laying on the ground and finally they buffed every other profession so he becomes even more crap.
What you talking about? Eles are so OP! We don’t need those buffs others are getting. We need a couple of nerfs. I think RTL is still too good. It should stun yourself after use. And healing is so OP… we should get blinded after using a heal skill so we can’t heal and then immediately follow with an attack… that’s so OP!
Oh and we can still run through doors on our down state… yeah they should totally remove downed state from ele. If an ele gets downed it should die instantly.
Only then we’ll stop owning PvE, PvP and WvW like the bosses we are… or wait… what again? (sarcasm mode off now).
Why make weak skills stronger, if no one uses them because they’re weak? :P
3s should actually make it viable in pvp at the very least.
And the 8 eles out of the 1k people that play PvP… rejoice.
Sorry, I couldn’t help it. I’m so sick of their “PvP” balancing (read ele nerfs). Well at least this time we were ignored. “Yay!” I guess.
target -> RTL in -> fight -> run away after 20sec CD, same as now
no target -> RTL to move -> cant run away if cough after this, because CD is 40sec
except that 2 is the continuation of 1 too when you try to run. reduced range + 40s CD – you won’t escape anyone but snails and critters.
3) RTL nerf: just gonna use it to escape, not to enter the fight, not a big issue for me, the only real problem is that roaming is gonna be slower for us
That’s exactly what they don’t want you to do. Or didn’t you get the message of their changes? If this is still a viable tactic after the patch, expect RTL to be completely gone if you don’t hit a target. They might even make it that you’re stunned if you don’t, or something. They obviously want us to only use RTL to engage in a fight, not run away.
Oddly enough, that doesn’t address what I’m saying. OP seems to think that even if you build for damage with say zerker, you can’t do DPS
I am saying nothing of sorts.
Related to dps I am saying that a valid tactic for ele D/D, given it’s the squishiest in game + close range, could be that we get in and burst out so much dps so that target doesn’t survive. The kamikaze style, if we fail to take the target down – we die for sure given we’re squishy and closed ranged.
However ele D/D dps is obviously not able to do that. So what play style is intended? We’re seemingly asked to outlive enemy dps on the lowest base hp and armor on the closest range without the ability to swap or enough damage to quickly dispatch the enemy.
But we had mobility and heals (and I think healing came second) as the only two ways to balance all these counters. And now they say our mobility is too much too… so only healing is left.
So we have to focus even more on healing now as we won’t be able to run if we spec for more dps, and that is the most boring, brain dead game play eles have. Not just for all the whiners complaining about bunker eles, but for the eles themselves even more so.
Whenever I try it and then I usually get into this 1:1 fights that I can’t kill but can’t be killed either and they go on and on for over 2 mins… I get tired and bored and I used to just disengage and go do something else. Cap something, pick another target, just break the boring stalemate.
Sometimes I get so bored with it that I choose not heal and just die so I can go do something else except just sit there and outheal one’s dps.
So for me, less mobility sounds like ANet is pushing us towards even more healing and the boring game play described above.
And I am asking: is this what ANet wants eles to do? I want to know because that doesn’t fit what I want to play. And if that’s the direction they’re going for with ele, I need to know now so I can switch and save myself months of frustration with the play style they push us to which I know I won’t enjoy. I don’t want to play bunker, plain and simple.
With the exception of ranger every other class has a spec that out dps ele specs. The term, “ton of damage” is very relative. Even when you pull it off the length and complexity of the chain and the fact that the DPS even with perfect pay still lags behind others classes similarly speced has to be accounted. Plain and simple in terms of true DPS damage per second DD ele lags behind the pack. *Like I have said before players get obsessed with big pretty number not actual D P S. *
This is exactly what I am saying re dps.
I don’t want to turn this into a dps discussion. OK dps may be mediocre in PvE, but for all time you are in water (pbly you spend 10-20s when you switch) your dps is non existent. On a zerker ele you dodge and heal a lot more often in dungeons and fractals compared to other classes that don’t even need to dodge even in zerker (dodge is loss of damage) – and by the time earth 5 hits (it has 3.25s cast) warriors have already finished off any target.
OK maybe it’s not lowest, but it’s definitively not top dps or close.
Still, my question is genuine, because I thought it was intended that as a D/D I can run around and avoid damage to stay alive. Everytime ANet says D/D eles have too much mobility – they basically go against something I think is core to this weapon setup.
So what’s the big picture? What’s ANet expectancy of how D/D should play? What should we get to? Because I don’t see it.
Seriously, put aside all the crying about the nerfs and all.
1) They are melee range weapons,
2) without the ability to swap to another weapon with a different range,
3) on the squishiest class in game (lowest hp and armor in the game),
4) on one of the lowest dps classes in game as well.
EDIT: by lower dps I mean we’re not meant to get into a fight and quickly finish off targets, which would balance 1-3 (as TheGuy.3568 puts it):
With the exception of ranger every other class has a spec that out dps ele specs. Plain and simple in terms of true DPS damage per second DD ele lags behind the pack.
I thought the mobility and healing was an essential part of the play style: be always on the run, dodge constantly, try to outheal your enemy dps while eroding slowly our enemy with our subpar dps.
So if it’s not intended that D/Ds can jump in and out the fight and run around all the time to avoid damage, get a break and heal some… but we’re meant to sit there and take it “like a man”, like all the complains I hear from non-ele players… That’s exactly what you learn not to do at level 1, because even a PvE Moa can best you if you stay put.
My honest question is: how are we supposed to play this weapon setup on this class?
(edited by Delius.1968)
I refuse to whine and cry on the forums about a class I play…
People want a role for their ele other than “no particular role”. I’ve never cried about their nerfs. Quote me and prove me wrong if you’d like. I just mentioned I understand why the others are as I, like them, will be missing some essential things from my class arsenal, which were the reason I picked this class to begin with or had fun with it so far.
To pretend that these changes are just to make the class “as intended” – it’s just outright offensive to many of us here that have been “abusing” this class so far instead of using it as “was meant”. I don’t like this elitism.
Don’t judgr your playstyle as everyone elses.
That’s why I started this conversation with you. I am not the one telling other people they should still be enjoying their uselessness and accept their mediocrity as fun. You were. I actually haven’t said anything on this forum until I saw your restlessness into telling others how they’re wrong and they should have fun despite their expectations of the class they’re already playing.
So take your own advise and perhaps show some understanding of why the majority of posters in this thread express another feeling than contempt with “mediocrity game play” style.
Many teams do this, and it usually works pretty well.
No they don’t. If that is the case, there shouldn’t be a need to nerf the ele, right? They are nerfing eles for precisely the role they currently fill. And if you read above you’ll see that that is exactly what everyone is complaining about.
They are nerfing the “only role” available to eles and people don’t want to play anymore because that role was the reason they started playing ele and no other role is made available – not the promise of being “mediocre at everything”. That didn’t attract anyone into playing this class (except perhaps you).
Because I can do them all? You only have 5 party slots you know. If they bring 2 Dps, 2 support, I can provide the rest. That’s how you do it (playing to Ele’s strengths I mean). Many parties work that way and they will continue to do so after this patch.
I mean no offence but I think you’re delusional. And you have to understand that there are those of us playing an ele that don’t want to be filling the role: “and for the last spot… not sure what to get, let’s grab whatever… oh look a desperate lonely ele, it will do.”
I want to play a role, as any other class. And I don’t want that role to be “random filling”.
I can bring CC, DPS, Healing/Sustain, and Survivability of self all in a moderate degree to my party.
And why would any party pick you when you can be replaced with a class that is best in whatever is needed (cc/dps/etc)? Why would you play yourself a class that can be replaced with something better at all times?
Sorry, but the mediocre in everything doesn’t have any place in a game where people are constantly optimizing and maxing every effect.
I dislike all the philosophical (non)aguments / fallacies. But let me give it a try.
As I view a jack of all trades as someone OK at everything, not amazing at anything, rather than amazing at some things, not too bad at others.
Tell me, who would play a class that is good at nothing and mediocre at everything? Where’s the fun in such a class for a game?
By definition, if a player is to have fun, he/she needs to find a way to be best at at least one thing – in order to get some satisfaction for all time put into mastering the game play.
All in all I don’t feel nerfed and am still owning everyone.
You’re too much amazing. Gotta step it down a bit, intentionally press the wrong key or something, give your opponents a chance to recover. Or else no one will fight you anymore.
I play mostly PvE and every undead is owning me Try that for a challenge. Luckily I have a W friend who can press 2 and win all. He rarely dodges, actually he hates the daily dodger achievement with a passion. What is a dodge but a waste of DPS? True story.
Sorry – it was too fun not to chime in. I don’t understand any of this nerf it / don’t nerf it / you didn’t nerf it enough / nerf it differently etc discussions. Don’t take it badly
They got out of fractals shortly after to LA – didn’t take long at all (clearly not enough for the daily). And the other two members that had nothing to do with all of it as they didn’t even have time to see the kick proposal told me as well.
Edit
About your R post and claim. You must know how a D/D ele plays. Do you really think I would’ve gotten to fractal 32 without knowing how to dodge and always be mobile – carried by pugs?
D/D eles have to do what that fractal end boss requires in most fights (or else fail miserably): be mobile, don’t stay put (you get burning etc), dodging is a required part of the build to combo or heal, etc. I don’t like staff for that very reason, takes ages to cast MS and at this boss you’re probably dead by the end of it if the team doesn’t cater for you. It’s not because I am not getting targeted that I had better survability, imho. Anyway not sure what I am trying to argue anymore. I should take that break I promised earlier.
Thank all and see you in game and use your kicking powers wisely.
(edited by Delius.1968)
If you were doing well and the team was still failing it stands to reason someone else was the weakest link, yet they specifically removed you “somehow”.
That’s exactly how it went. The team wasn’t doing well. They replaced me and still failed and they had to give up in the end. Which at least made me some justice. But hey, thanks for the trust.
There’s nothing wrong with my max range shortbow/longbow ranger dps..
Not sure what you’re on about. It’s not about rangers. And don’t want to get into class elitism, my point is that even that is not a reason to kick anyone at the end. Just don’t party with them from the start.
This isn’t an abusive kick. You obviously couldn’t cut it so they looked for someone else.
Yes, it’s my fault, somehow. It’s that it?
If it were they would’ve complained before wouldn’t they? At least said something at some point. They just randomly kicked some light armor player.
I think I’ve made my point, I won’t argue about my proficiency as a player. That’s not a tangible discussion point in this thread and you’re free to assume that I am just here to whine if that’s how you see it.
I’ll take a break now from the forum too, what was done was done and if there is anything that needs to change or this is how things are meant to be – it’s not my call really.
The other part of the story is that they couldn’t complete even after they replaced me. And I have done the exact same boss / fractal the day before on level 30.
Also I have helped the team a lot as they were failing at the boss before – being unable to CC the veterans before they killed the humans. We failed there 4 times, I switched to staff and we barely made it with all my CC – their DPS was really bad. Same, I am not sure they would’ve completed the previous fractal without my ranged staff at the harpies JPs.
So as you can see I was switching (and I always am) weapons constantly.
I am sorry you find any of this justifiable. And even if they had complained – which they never had – and given the elitism around I am not sure you’d kick the ele and keep the ranger.
Anyways – I didn’t want to start a class discussion. It just seems wrong to me to treat other players like this, and the reality is that some players out there will do it and there is nothing one can do to defend against it.
Thanks for the support, in the end I just won’t be joining groups I don’t know all the members prior to it. I had great times pugging so far, and it’s too bad this can happen.
ok… just the Facts
- Frac Level 32
- Volcanic, last Boss
- D/D EleSomething seems very wrong to me, having done 250 Fractals and being an Ele at reward level31 myself. But that may be just my point of view…
Discover D/F, I was not D/Ding the end boss though you definitively can. And btw I D/Ded all the way to level 32 and also have as many fractal runs. There is nothing wrong with D/D.
PS: Even so, they could have asked to switch to staff – which I run as well. They didn’t. They stealthy kicked me and then when chatted with him I got: “sry it sucks -.-” – to quote.
(edited by Delius.1968)
Being kicked out of a group isn’t reportable. ANet isn’t going to punish anyone for not wanting to play with you even if you had played with them up until they no longer wanted to play with you.
That would be fair, I’d say. In this case however, because we kept failing the G and the W in the party got on TS (that I couldn’t join). I was usually the last to go down actually, between the ele focus air 4 and earth 4 + 5, but anyway.
After many tries the Guardian (party lead) says in chat: “ty all for wasting my time” and kicks me out of the blue with the W seconding so fast that the other 2 party members didn’t even realize what happened.
At least to my consolation, even after the heavies kicked “the ele” and replaced me, they still couldn’t get past the shaman.
But really there is no way I can do anything about it and this could become common practice and I have no defense (I am pretty sure that guy that was the party lead will do it again with the next occasion). And that is the problem here:
– I can’t report them,
– two players (minority out of party of 5) privately chatting can do this any time,
– once a kick is being proposed – there is no way to say no, or cancel it. the only thing a user can do to make that popup go away is approve the kick. it’s like the game is asking for someone to second. if I oppose the kick, I can’t dismiss it. I think that’s poor UX design, tbh.
I am really let down that this can happen in a game I enjoy so much otherwise.
Thanks for the understanding!
I know their usernames, but even if I wanted to report them… this doesn’t seem to be a reason. I’d like to report this behavior tbh but don’t know how / where.
Hi all,
I was doing fractal 32 just minutes ago and at the last fractal we got the Volcanic one and we weren’t able to finish the end boss (the shaman). At this point out of the blue the party lead and one more kicked me (I’m a D/D ele and we were pretty mixed: Me, R, G, W).
The party kept going without me and got someone else instead as I couldn’t rejoin. The party lead mentioned “he’s sorry – he didn’t kick me and they already failed and getting out” – but he was obviously lying as I saw his status was still inside the fractals.
I think they failed in the end with the replacement as well – given the time I saw them listed inside the fractals after I was kicked… but this is some horrible behavior and made me feel really crappy.
Can I in any way report abusive kicks? I did my fare share all the way to that last boss of the last fractal and was helping with D/F projectile protection at the boss as well. I feel really let down atm and not sure I should ever party with people I don’t know… but then I won’t have anyone to do fractals with(
Thanks.
All it needs is a change to make it so vapor form can’t go through tower/keep portals…that’s it. No other changes required. This will completely fix the issue and not affect anything else in the game.
Please stop your vendetta, whatever caused it, just go out and play this game for fun. I don’t particularly play with your tactics but the few couple of times I actually was being chased by some zerg and managed to get to the safety of a keep in the last seconds of Vapor Form… I was grateful for it.
Eles die all the time. They don’t need nerfs to make them even more easy to kill.
I understand that a limited mind like yours think that way. Good thing I’m here to tell you you’re wrong!
Seriously now… that’s no way to address someone on any forum, or anywhere actually.
Sorry to say, but the flaw in design is pretty obvious – I am not sure why orbs were ever considered.
It’s the same with GW2’s DP mechanic making the game even harder for an already failing player (the only result is frustration, not teaching players how to play better).
I too… gave up. I don’t have time to play good games… so I regret I wasted my time getting an ele to lvl 80. The difference is so obvious that just for fun i’ve started shouting damage numbers with my friends that i played all the way to max level just for the kicks. Eles are good at nothing – pretty much.
But I also don’t feel like investing that time again in another class just because ANet doesn’t care about their balance. So I am thinking it’s time to take a break – have fun some place else.
ANet always asked: “is it fun?” – a definitive NO is my answer.
