I just came back to this game after a 1 year hiatus to find it as amazing and beautiful as ever. That said, I can’t believe the dungeons are still in the same condition they were when I left. I just played through Arah a few times to much frustration and disappointment.
It’s not the best analogy, but if I may, GW2 is like an amazing mansion. The dungeon side was arguably one of the best “wings” of this mansion from it’s inception. Huge and sprawling, filled with the finest furniture, art, and decorations. And on day one of the home being complete, it’s as though they found a wiring problem and just abandoned it all together. Okay, bad analogy over, my point being, why are things still the same three years after they were discovered to be broken?
The intent of this post isn’t to just complain, but rather give an opinion and hope for an improvement to this element of the game. The following are a few suggestions:
-Clear out the trash mobs. Everyone just runs or bugs past them and they are pointless time sinks.
-Change some of the dynamics of boss fights. I know this is easier said then done, but are we really supposed to settle on stacking in the corner for half of the fights in the game?
-I know this game is different and relies on movement over health to keep yourself alive, but maybe change some of the dmg output so you aren’t 1-2 shotted.
-Make the story mode soloable…please
-Make the paths a little bit clearer…Arah comes to mind.
These are just a few ideas, and I may be way off, but I really want to see this become a more enjoyable part of the game.
Just came back after another hiatus. I couldn’t agree with the OP more…this game is a masterpiece.
I was super excited when they first announced ascended armor…now I could care less. Here’s to hoping these may be gem store sets. Not holding my breath though…
Not to trash the hard work that goes into this game…but most of the cutscenes are painful. The sad thing is, the story itself is actually decent. It’s like using using the worst actors you could possibly find to star in the LoTR trilogy. It’s just so over the top(especially the Norn story) that I almost don’t care. It’s not that the story is that bad(for the most half) but the “acting” is in desperate need of some maturity. Hopefully the future updates will a bring a more refined/mature feel to the ongoing story. If they bring back an elder dragon and he’s presented in a comical way, I just can’t bring myself to care.

Why not? No one wants to do it, and the rewards(including the upcoming changes) will do nothing to entice people. I never played the first GW, but from what I gather you could hire companions, or something like that. Why not have that option. It’s hard enough getting my main through the stories, but I dread when I start rolling alts. If you just made them a solo endeavor, I think everyone would actually do them. Just my 2 cents.
New solo content…awesome! Looking forward to this. This may have been said already, but is it permanent and what are the rewards?
I thought the mystic stones lowered your chances of acquiring your precursor due to the fact that the stone counts as a random rare/exotic(ie: three gs and a stone doesn’t necessary equate to four gs)?
Is it possible to join if you’re on a different server?
Hey all, just returned after a 3 month break due to work and family. I’m on Fort Aspenwood and looking for a somewhat casual PvE guild that runs dungeons on a regular basis. Leave me post or send me a tell in-game. Thanks!
If I buy the tier 2 cultural skin and transmute it to a piece of gear that’s better, but I plan on upgrading later, when I go transmute later will it keep the current look or revert back to the original. For example, I transmute the T2 chest piece looks with the stats of a green. A week later I find a rare with better stats. I want to keep the current look but upgrade the stats so I transmute again. Will it keep the current look or revert back to the original look of the gear I choose the stats on? Thanks.
[Devquote included] Dungeon Gear Token Costs (Aka, whatever happened to anti-grind philosophy?)

Yeah, pretty dissapointed here. When I first saw the dungeon armor vendors I felt like it was gonna take just the right amount of time to complete my set then I could start working on some different weapons(which still seemed insanely overpriced)…but then I realized I wasn’t looking at the exotic tab. Wow, that’s ridiculous. I would really appreciate some feedback on what happened here from the dev’s. I have no motivation to attempt exp mode if it’s going to be that much of a grind. I’ve been enjoying this game because it does so many things so well for someone who usually can’t spend hours logged in…the dungeons seem like a giant step backwards.
