Yes non-hot specs are still unviable, tho funnily while i was still in ruby we had quite a few wins with a non-hot guardian.
Berserker is not OP in Spvp, its impact in quite a few matches is lacking in some senses, I’d rather a thief who knows what they are doing then a berserker.
Saying reaper is balanced is also wrong, bursted hard, HARD like I swear I can’t play mine because if im soloing I just get 1 thief/rev combo rotating on me all day killing me, its just that reaper has no invulnerability frames other then dodge and port with flesh wurm, just damage and cc. Still best source of boon corrupt in the other game, if a tankier class gets better access to boon corrupt, they lose their place entirely.
Once again not counting downstate necro build. Nos is a god for using necro last season.
Dmaw is good pressure, but theres better pressure classes, like comparing maw to tornado/moa is night and day, thief dmg pressure is more as long as thief knows what hes doing.
Then countering it is like just run some form of stability or minion and proc it, then once its down he only has possible focus 5 3 blocks and 5 seconds of shield of courage then donezo, dying to dmaw is basically like, I ran into this fight being greedy with cooldowns, I should learn when to preemptively use defensives to counter enemies dmg potential.

Engi and Necro are weird, engi has great sustain but just it gets randomly bursted now, a good player can still do offpoint bunker to annoying lvls.
Necro is just instantly taken out qutie a bit.
NOT COUNTING SAID WORLD QUALIFIERS NECRO+ENGI COMP. That has not popped up for me in yolo que yet thankfully.
Hambow isnt that good without runes of the trapper.
The core guardian burn build is powerful now, though i run syg over cop cause you already have 4 other major forms of condi removal(insta cast virtue 2 twice for 5, heal for 2, purging flames for 3).
I saw one guy run the offmeta heal build pretty amazingly, tanking/kiting 2-3 guys at a time.
I’d like if the trait for spirit weapons didn’t add burning cause Bow has no way of doing burning.
It needs some changes. As it is, you would have to Nerf all other classes to have DH viable at high lvl. Except bunker DH.
Its too slow rotating unless you waste your stunbreak JI, It becomes the weakest class if VoC gets interrupted and traps don’t make a difference to someone who just procs them and pops stab/invulnerability.
Then change focus to still bounce even if blocked/dodged/evaded. That’d be worth the cast time.
12 is kinda op, which doesnt match the list. It also promotes Projectile hate which is a no-no-no
13 you stated is no, to dumb in WvW, it was nerfed cause of wvw not cause of spvp.
Rest evens itself out. But if we are talking selfishy about traitlines, I’d like them to move writ of persistence to zeal major/grandmaster traitline. ITS 1 OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SYMBOL TRAITS YET WE CAN’T RUN THE SYMBOL SPECIALIZATION ZEAL WITH HONOR WHEN WE ARE FORCED TO RUN VALOR/DH. Making honor on par with valor defensives would work but there is a huge huge gap.
The non-OP ones that are decently QoL requested so far for pvp.
1) 25% passive movespeed or some trait that gives us passive access to swiftness.
2) Sword auto 3 shouldn’t be a projectile, its already really punishing to go in melee range, just to have it denied cause ele/engi has aoe reflect up.
3) Symbol Access to all weapons(meaning give scepter/sword symbol access).
4) Remove Virtue cast times. Long cds, easy to interrupt and the most punishable
thing if interrupted(ele have some big moves to interrupt too).
5) Change Scepter AA. QoL change, I’m not personally affected by this as much.
6) Focus 4 should be unblockable. It is a pretty bad move since if block/unblockable/dodge just makes it disappear. This or if it bounces even if blocked would be nice.
There are other balance requests. Aegis buffs, trait changes. All up to discussion, these I just find are nice to change and not too op since as devs stated (dh is too op for noobs not good enough at high tier).
So I casted VoC and switched weapons at the same time.
Full cd, 75 seconds, fml.
-cough- yeah it didnt, its to punish ppl rotating on me all the time but its only bursty as kitten.
Basically had to learn how to reset fights and such which I never needed to learn outside of legendary…
Power variant does have quite a few bad comps but if i see a burn warr and an ele im feeling quite confident in a nice match(maybe just maybe a stomp)
@lukraf nice video. you did a good job doing dps while avoiding focus. Its definitely stuff I gotta try in foefire.

It’s not a bad build, but now that I get some quality matches in legendary, it has some flaws.
If im vs 2 of the following combination (wanderers necro/mesmer/thief/support ranger) I run ToF over smite condition or I switch to a burn guardian (I run 2 guardians). The amount I can learn in legendary is suprisingly alot.

and had fun with that one. I like the elite trap for the nice cc, and all da meditations for heals rather then protection from ToF.
Pls don’t encourage nerfing the generally weakest class rn…
1 mil damage is really easy if you are fighting one minion necro, specially running procession of blades. It’s not however a realistic number for most DH matches cause of how many people learn to easily deal with traps. Just don’t stand in them and watch out for da pull (reset pull too).
That is true, yet would eat into the viability of sword. If scepter 2 was a symbol that’d be fine but only thing sword could have is in the auto chain and not a personal fan of that.
I dislike how torch/focus/shield has no symbols. It may be because it would synergize to well with mace 2, symbol of faith but I feel its something that would be needed for the class.
The 2 skills right now that are okay but not great is shield 4 and torch 5.
Shield 4 is another skill that has low buff timers and decent dmg, but I’d love if instead it was symbol of aegis, reapplies aegis every few seconds 4 seconds each aegis.
Torch 5 is okay for hitting targets that are slightly too far away from auto range, but for targeting for cleansing its meh(since it does not cleanse yourself) and for burning it only shows as 1 hit for your passive. I’d personally like it as Symbol of Cleansing but I could see if ppl would want it to do burning (though symbol of energy, bow 4, already burns targets).
This is just a selfish wish cause I like symbols and I dont want to run GS, would rather run Sword+Shield or Sword+focus but I dislike the no symbols.
Since I don’t know which mechanic video would cover it and google/search didnt help.
Is there any special rules for how to get a reset of a fight? Like a specific distance/time until u start regening your hp in pvp. does it help to sheathe ur weapon to make it happen faster?

Okay I was refraining from posting on the forums until I got more experience in pvp cause of a analysis I’m now ashamed of the progames that zero counterplay did (your guardians ign translates to kitten on the forums) and I wanted to get better before responding to said post or anything on the forums but this triggered me as an ex-guildie of yours Anari.
You have to change alot of other factors of other classes and the skills themselves to make this kinda balance. At least inform us that you are doing a rebalance of all classes in said OP.
I’ve used receive the light in a super fun build before, the unusable of it is cause of a 32 second cd when buffed (anymore then 24 is pretty laughable) the sustain provided by this skill on a 15 second cd(-20% when traited) is huge, so huge.
I like rf changes but some ppl do the same now by running leadership rune.
Signet of courage, with so much sustain now, are we going WoW style with this being a anti burst trinket?

Hallowed ground, is this on top of 12 seconds of stability?
Save yourselves on 30 seconds sounds fun, gives us some decent sustain, speed, protection.

onto traits, stalwart defender. OP as eles will tell you, cant be permanent needs to have the option to be peeled off with corruption. rest of this tree will not change then 2-2-2 path.
virtues, master of consecrations. in combination with hallowed ground holy kitten thats a good chunk of mid in foefire.
supreme justice, okay gives us less unstable condi output(also more cripple application if u trait that)
change to absolute resolution adds kitteng crazy sustain.
permeating wrath- so ur saying that passive procs of justic appear every hit in an aoe and stack 3? right now thats 3k burning dots every hit.

its not alot better then it was other then the gm traits. im really sure ppl dont wanna be blinded every 2 hits on us.
zeal
symbolic power- pretty sure symbols already provide boons to allies, just symbols arent as good without the honor trait to increase symbol size, that trait is in the worst position.
is the fiery wrath under zeal supposed to be under radiance? okay.
expeditious spirit – wow, uhm give range pls cause that could be op with hammer. sword mebe cause that does del somewhat decent dmg.
honor- purity of body- id like free 200 vit.
writ of persistance – perma regen with hammer, nice
mace- heals 200 on autos, does this scale?
900 range on mace autos, lol.
shield buffs nice.
mace/shield with scepter focus probably.
OVERALL, i ignored most power based specs, cause this mainly was about improving guardian condi and bunker, affected those 2 miles more then power related builds. Its a little too over the top compared to auramancer, basically we could theoretically run perma stability and need 3 guys to out dmg ridiculous passive healing.
Not a fan personally, even though I love guardian and want it to be meta, I don’t like needing numbers rather then skill to remove an obstacle. I can go on TS tomorrow night if you want to talk about this further anari…
EDIT: oops forgot about sanctuary, with said buffs need to change the skill to prevent point capture contribution while casting.

Love guardian, the PTOO PTOO of our longbow 1 makes me love the weapon.

Its fun, I don’t think guardian is that weak, we clearly make class #4 or #5 of some comps, rev/scrapper/ele is far ahead of us and reaper/search and rescue ranger is chosen more cause its FOTM.
For me though, I do think DH is amazing, I just don’t like seeing marauder’s amulet evar, rev/scrapper can run that amulet better any day of the week.

Ran rune of the dragonhunter with marauders and dragons maw and hammer.
Feel thats too much dmg, not enough survivability, shouldve switched 1 out for scrappers/pally/rf. Also focus/shield couldve helped alot.
He did take hunters fortification but not alot of ways to block with his kit, also trading the stability and cc from longbow vs the dmg reduction/condi cleanse is a defensive for a defensive.
heal trap/smite condition/ToF/JI
His build held back his team by alot as seen by the # of times he was downed.
Zero Counterplay
Running the basic meta DH build, rune of the pack, air blood on s/f, air intell on bow, marauders with RF.

Basic build, basic build, more surivability then you back in time with RF, running RF relies alot more on team rotations cause extending the fight with it
can come down to who you are with or who rotates first on the DH.
Edream kinda flopped a few time, they had multiple downs on ZC but ZC managed to get quite a few of those rezd up, they went for even fights alot instead of plus 1’s. But on 2nd map FoeFire EDream just was so good.
Personally the builds has extreme ~flaws~ that an experienced scrapper/thief/interrupt warrior WILL show you.(as long as thief dodges true shot and any cc(cc>trueshot combo)
Close fights, ZC is good, Edrems was just a little bit better.

Engi camps DH, DH seems to falter in dmg, he does stilldo good but engi just makes dh not as scary if the engi is good.(not always true, can build around it)
Both teams in NA running DH didn’t make it but at least ZC showed good combos and good rotations but BTNA adaptions were too good. q.q
No DH run in EU at all, boring.
I started playing this game in S1, I reached Diamond near the end, I didn’t honestly play that much cause of university.
S2 now, I’m ruby so far but matches have been progressing smoothly except for the 30 loss in a row spree in amber, felt like a terrible grind to get out of that division.
Comparing both seasons, S1 was more frustrating cause of the viable builds, dh felt impossible because of revs, bunker mesmer and eles. I had to switch to scrapper to climb thru emerald and sapphire until I learned more about this game and switched back to dh for ruby.
S2 is actually fun, team throwing happens more at lower divisions but now im on a steady pace for diamond and hoping for legendary later.
Other team didn’t take advantage of the times you were low
Like first fight you still had rf but at 6k hp you mightve wanted to wings of resolve just for 10k so a 1shot wouldnt be as bad. You were alot safer though cause of where you positioned and the comp you faced, some stayed ranged while others were tunnel focusing the point not noticing you in a little cubby hole (its a good point as long as nobody places aoes forcing you down the stairs where you cant dps from(though u can JI around the aoe) Overall impressed with your positioning.
Ranger felt squishy, i dont know why but he did, search and rescue was nice.
Unimpressed by necros, multiple uninterrupted longbow 5, that 1v1 he shouldve noticed where you placed ur traps, reaper should win when you are only running a 5 condi cleanse build(heal=2, wings=3)
Build is basic, I personally don’t like it but your gameplay is great and communication of your team seems amazing.

Speaking from an sPVP POV.
So far, core virtues still suck with changes.
Nerfs to elite spec virtues is terrible. (less cd but more cd now that you change virtues cd reduction) Removing the fun from Spear of justice being unblockable and using it to counter rev shield and alot of reflect. I’d rather never cast it and just keep the dmg buff from supreme justice which is a power creep trait.
Nerf to longbow, useless weapon, rather run scepter with focus/shield and staff, mace is good, sword is meh, gs still the same, hammers a bit stronger, torch 5 being a self root with the same range is not attractive.
From reading traits, zeal/valor/honor for the following traits. Zealous scepter, virtuos speed, ferverous precision and symbolic avenger from zeal. focus mastery/smiters boon, stalward defender, monks focus but i also like writ of persistance(with staff though) for valor. Resonating Symbols(best trait by far), strength in numbers, grandmaster is too juicy to decide for honor.
Virtues is decent, but only if i want to go master of consecrations, supreme justice, absolute resolutions, the nerf to stability stacks I just would rather symbol stability,

For utilities, I like purging flames, CoP and either JI, signet of judgement only if I’m with squishies, bow might be good now?!?!?!
For elite,Not mentioning anything about passive procs uhm difference or CD on signet of courage so need more info if you ever want me to switch off RF.
Spirit weapons changes are too vague, are u changing the hp pool? changing the ai? I really do like hammer if it wasnt oneshotted after first command cast.
I don’t care for dh traitline so I don’t care about traps(removing the boons though is pretty crappy cause traps were never too full they just put shouts to shame, everything puts shouts to shame).
the increase CD of smite condition doesnt affect the valor heal right(put this seperate cause I’d never run smite condition on 30 seconds)
Thinking mercenary amulet, definitely but I’d love if a teammate could give me good amounts of fury to compensate(gotta love your team)
