Greetings Fellow Gamers!

My name’s Justin Olson and I’m the guild leader of War is Hell. We moved to Tarnished Coast in the middle of July and have been having a blast since we did. One of the reasons we moved to Tarnished Coast was for the community, it was something we were told TC had in spades. Well the truth of the matter is that TC is an even better community minded server then we could have ever dreamed of.

We wanted to be a part of that community, and as a community we wanted to give back. I brought the idea of becoming active and participating in Extra-Life to my Officers and the guild a week ago. Myself and one of my Council members, Vincynt, got to chatting about it and really thought it was a great charity, great event, and something we wanted to get behind.

So here we go!

What is Extra-Life?
Extra-Life is a gaming marathon held on November 2nd whereby participants reach out to their friends, family and fellow gamers to donate some cash to a worthy cause, the support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

What Are You Going to Do?
We’re going to get our friends, family members and fellow gamers to pledge us so we can game all night and into the wee hours of the morning to make a difference in the lives of children with critical illnesses and serious injuries. We play to raise money so they can keep on playing!

Specifically we’re going to start gaming on November 1st (I know, a little early, but hey, it’ll be fun!) at 6 pm Server for Reset. You’re going to find us, War is Hell, and anyone who wants to join us, out in WvW for as long as we can go! 6 PM Server on the 1st until 6 pm Server on the 2nd, or longer if we don’t pass out and get keyboard imprints on our foreheads!

How Can I Help?
There are two ways you can help.

The first way you can help is by going to Extra-Life’s website, signing up for an account, and joining the TC Community Team! Set yourself a goal, and start reaching out to your friends and family today! Then on the 1st at 6 PM Server join us on TC’s Mumble for a great night of fun holding points on BL’s and playing together! We want to encourage as many of you as possible to sign up, join the team and make TC proud by showing the gaming community and the world at large how big all of our hearts are. If you’d like to join us and you don’t play on the Tarnished Coast server please don’t let that discourage you! We would be more than happy to see our friends from other servers join our group and help raise some money for the kids!

The second way would be by visiting the TC Community Team Site and selecting one of the team members raising money for a hospital close to you and making a donation. Any donation no matter the size helps. Skip a few cups of coffee one week and donate $5. Help save a child’s life and make a difference.

We get it, not everyone loves the best gameplay mode in Guild Wars 2

Don’t let that deter you! Even if you’re not going to join us in WvW, marathon overnight, or even play GW2. You can still participate by raising money or donating! Extra-Life is about playing games to raise money and awareness for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in each of our communities.

A PvX Guild with a WvW Focus

What are we looking for?
War is Hell is actively recruiting new members to join our community. Our goal is to grow our core base of players and provide a community environment where members know each other, play together, and have a sense of camaraderie. We’re looking for active players that want to be a part of a community and are interested in WvW. Experienced Commanders, or people who want to learn to command are welcome!

What do we offer?
We offer structured and organized events. We offer a fun and team friendly adult atmosphere. We participate in the TC Community Mumble for our VOIP, we actively participate in the TC War Council, attend reset meetings, and try to be upstanding members of the Tarnished Coast Community. A list of our Basic Guild Events is:

Monday - Orr Night

Tuesday - WvW: Havoc Night

Wednesday - Guild Mission Night

Thursday - WvW: Havoc Night

Friday - WvW Reset Night

Saturday & Sunday - Free Days however you will generally find us in WvW or finishing up living story components.

Last Wednesday of every month - Guild General Meeting - This is not a mandatory event however it is something we encourage everyone to attend. We pick a location in game and get everyone into Mumble to review the month and speak about anything that we have upcoming. We also do a monthly lottery that gets drawn at the Guild General Meeting.

Special Events - We recently celebrated our first anniversary as a guild and held some special events such as a Guild Raffle, Naked Races, and a special Reset Night.

How do I apply?
You can apply for the guild by visiting our website, clicking on Apply Now on the top navigation bar and answering the recruitment questions. One of our recruitment Officers will get in touch with you and conduct a little meet and greet session on Mumble. If all goes well you’ll be invited into the guild as a recruit on a trial basis. You’ll also be asked to read, if you understand and can abide by our Guild Charter.

YB building arrow carts in the invulnerable zone behind southwest camp. Now, I realize it’s not an exploit to go back there, but building siege there..i’ll leave that to the mods.

The invulnerability zone is a little behind the arrow cart position, and even so the arrow cart is not invulnerable, so what’s the matter?.

Wrong, they are built above and on it. So what’s the matter? It’s an exploit, you aren’t allowed to build siege in a no siege deployment zone. I also took the liberty to report the other guilds using them, such as CL. And im not saying YB as a whole are exploiters so don’t even go there.

If you weren’t allowed, why would it allow them to place it? Your argument is null and void.

The secret with YB is that everyone in WvW is on the SAME Mumble server.

Maybe that is something to discuss as a server! It definitely helps a ton! :P

I just can’t stop laughing at the whining in this thread. Happens every time we play Ehmry. I’m wondering if they reason they whine is either because A) Since they lost a lot of players (probably based on the whining) they don’t have the numbers to compete in anything above T4. or B.) They just aren’t geared, or are bad at WvW.

I can speak for Part B. There has been many times, this week, and past matches where 10 YB guys ran into a 40 man Ebay Zerg, and wiped them. I’m sure a lot of other players can also say this. Is it because they are squishy? Yes. Are they bad players? Probably not. To speak about YB double teaming you is idiotic. It’s called WvWvW. That’s the way ArenaNet designed it, and they have even defended that statement. Also, YB does not form any “Alliances” with other servers. To prove this, ask Grimaldi on your server. He came to myself, and other YB Alliance Commanders asking us if we would help you guys team up on DB. We respectfully declined because YB is simply not that kind of server. We fight for ourselves, and are happy to do so.

I have been to Ehmry’s community site, and their forums are filled with trolling/arguing/whining just like the public forums. So from my observation, I want to think that it’s not YB or CD that cause this, it’s themselves. Their community site is supposed to be a place where the server comes together, and instead it looks like the server is being pulled apart, and it carries over to the official forum. Where Ebay takes a break from kittening at eachother, and pushes the blame on other servers.

I don’t blame the Guilds for leaving Ebay, even though it sucks that you guys lost them. I really doubt they miss Ebay though considering the attitude of the server.

I can officially state that YB has not received any “large” transfers. Yeah, we get a few small Guilds, but it’s nothing like Kaineng got back in the day, or Maguuma. The secret with YB is that everyone in WvW is on the SAME Mumble server. You know what that means? It means that we are more capable of being successful in WvW because we can turn on a dime, and we know whats being attacked at a moments notice. Would I say it’s skill? Partly yes because skill takes communication.

Anyways, let’s just stop the trolling and talk about fun times that we all have in WvW this week, share some epic stories, or pictures. Let’s just have good sportsmanship and play for fun, and play to win. I want every server to win this week. If it was possible. Unfortunately, there can only be one winner. So instead of trolling on the forums, why don’t you actually go out and play the game If my post is taken the wrong way, so be it. All I know is, I’ll actually be out there fighting on the field, rather than typing on the forums, and wondering why your server isn’t doing as good.

Seriously? Archer, you haven’t seen a real zerg. If you think YB and CD have zergs, go to T2 or even T3 for that matter. If you want to complain about zerging, go down to T7 and have fun playing with 5 people lol.

That is a definite feature they need to add! I had that I get suppressed after sending like 3 things of mail. To send a mass “newsletter” to a guild would help, especially to arrange guild meetings

Amadan, great additions! I totally agree, and I could see how those could work out well!

Hopefully this post gets scene by the devs! It wouldn’t be too hard for them to code a calender :P

So there’s a few reasons for the post.

1). I think a lot of us can agree, as a Guild Leader, I personally want everyone to represent my Guild, and there shouldn’t be multiple Guilds.

2). Alliance options would be excellent for the game for WvW, it was in GW1, even though I never played GW1, I’ve heard it worked really well, that way it gets rid of the need to be in 5 different Guilds, and you can just all talk to your friends from other Guilds in Alliance chat.

3). Personally I think the Alliance chat would also show a lot of people in the game that join a good WvW Guild, PvE Guild, etc. That they are apart of something larger than just map chat, whispers, and guild chat.

I also think Guilds need more permissions for their ranks, like mixing in inviting people to the guild with admin lower ranks is just idiotic. I think it would be good for even having Officer chat within the guild. An in-game calender at least for Guilds would be beneficial, especially for Guild Events that a Guild may want to run.
