As the title states, we are in need of Oceanic players/Guilds on our server. Mainly because our forces are mostly NA Prime time. We have a few small sized Oceanic Guilds/Players, but nothing to what Dragonbrand has (props guys). If we want to even consider moving up, that’s what we need. We need a night time force that will let us sleep at night by holding what we have.

I am Dethroat, and I am one of the main leaders of the Yak’s Bend Alliance. We have a strong, family oriented alliance with a “never say die” mentality. We have people from all over the United States, Canada, Chile, Mexico, etc. We make everyone feel at home, no matter what language you speak! I would love to sit down and talk to ANYONE who is thinking about transferring over, because it really is a big decision. I hope that you might think about coming over to us, and trust me, it won’t be the wrong decision!

Still not sure whether I should join Yak’s Bend btw. The thing is, right now, I got godlike internet, but I’m gonna move in about a month. Now I got exams and don’t have much time to play anyway, after the exams, I have no idea, how well my then kittenty internet will take wvwvw, especially a connection to an american server.

A strong european presence could be exactly what you need btw. Doesn’t matter, how hard your oceanic team has to try, to stay at the top, if you don’t have an european presence, you won’t have any chance to catch up if you lost in the oceanic time frame.
Everyone in NA recruits oceanics, as it seems. My take is, just go against the flow. Get Europeans to cap everything back once the oceanics are gone and also prepare the map for NA prime time by capping and upgrading key locations, making sure, there is enough supply, etc.

If you wouldn’t mind translating it, I would appreciate it! Also, seriously come check out Yak’s Bend for a week. It’s really a good home!

By the way for anyone who didn’t know. We are a Tier 4 server, and have been for a good month or two. We were in Tier 3 with TC and FA, but we couldn’t hold onto much because of our Manpower. We are easily a Tier 1, 2 or 3 server for NA prime time, but it’s our night time that is where we need the help.

Thanks everyone for the kind words and support. What Patricide said was true. The owner and creator of the Ehmry Bay Community site came to us earlier this week asking us for help on how to make their community grow. We always have Guilds and Players in higher tier servers like jade Quarry, Blackgate, Tarnished Coast that have came to us because they heard of the great community we have. We’ve also heard from Guilds, that if they leave Yak’s Bend for let’s say Blackgate, and people ask where they are from, and they say Yak’s Bend, they instantly question why would they leave such a great server?

We are seen as the underdogs by most servers that we play against, because we honestly just need a night crew. Once that happens, there is nothing that can stop us.

Wait wait wait… Yak’s is a nightcapping server? I’ve been blissfully unaware of this. Where’s the evidence that we nightcapped EBay/Mag with abandon in tier 4? I am so glad to see some more support from the Alliance as well as other members of the Yak’s Bend server on here.

I will personally sit down with anyone who is interested in transferring and I will talk with you 1 on 1 about everything that is great about this server, and why we need you! We aren’t just a massive zerg like other servers, we have small strike teams, zerg teams, siege teams, etc. We have everything, and more to fit your style of gameplay you are looking for, and we will accept you into the family we’ve grown into since the release of the game!

Been thinking this same thing myself I came from tier 4 , Tactics in tier 4 blow FA out of the water, I have not seen 1 portal bomb , do they even know to hide a Mesmer in a keep? Stacking never seen it , No cat behind doors to slow the placement of a ram down , siege work is horid, communication server wide , nope

They just like being a herd of whining cats and expect to come out victorious, when in reality, they just don’t belong in this tier or any above it. Notice how when you progress tiers things get more and more strategy based? I sure as hell noticed it. FA, not so much.

I swear, if they spent as much time learning about WvW and the losses they’ve encountered as they doing crying, they’d probably be in the top tier. But instead they don’t have any tactics when it comes to this game mode except for a zerg.

I do not know anything about an alliance against FA, but I can tell you this: FA is the only server out of the six that I played against where players dances on your corpse after you run into a zerg.

THAT is the reason why I prefer to attack FA instead of Yak.

If you would get rid of these (few) bad elements on your server, people will stop seeing FA as target number one.

I do not claim that FA as a whole is rude. But as I said, of all the servers that I played against, they are the only ones doing that. Just saying…

It gave me great personal joy to have captured FAs entire borderland this weekend (every single point on FA was TCs for a while) just because of this rude behaviour of some of your players.

And it’s not hard to take their whole borderlands considering they don’t siege anything, or upgrade anything. Maybe that’s why it seems everyone is against them, easy picking in my book!

So far this week, as well as last week, and continuing on for the next few weeks maybe, I must say, it has been a blast!

I’ve had some fun commanding my guys and our server to some epic battles!

The only thing I have to say is, FA ever think of upgrading your keeps at all? I was able to take AB, AH, as well as some others within a few minutes with just 2 rams on each door. I mean hey, it makes it easy for us, but come on guys, make it a bit harder for us! Sure your zerg is beastly in size, but still :P

War is Hell started on Day 1 of the 3 Day Head Start and quickly grew from a small real life friends Guild, to a larger more active Guild. There was a point in the Guild’s life where the Guild was very inactive, and a lot of our core members were thinking about leaving, or already left. Well at that point, something had to change, so we went through a time in the Guild that I would like to nickname it “the purge.” We gave all of our members a weekend to reply to a message, and if they didn’t, they were kicked. From that moment on, the Guild has grown into an unstoppable force, and a tight family, and we have no intention to slow down!

So you may be asking what makes War is Hell different from any other Guild on Guild Wars 2. Well let’s answer some of those questions.

War is Hell is turning into a massive role in World vs. World. We strive to be the best, and work the best as a team. We are also in a server-wide alliance, known as the “Yak’s Bend Alliance” where we have over 100 Guilds and 3,000+ Members working together each week to conquer enemy forces in World vs. World.

We also focus a lot on the PvE aspect of the game, such as running Dungeons daily, Guild Dungeon Days on Saturday, helping other members level their alts, and helping members farm different parts of the game.

We strive to be an active Guild on Guild Chat, and on Mumble, so you always have someone to talk to. We are also moving into the direction to where we want all of our members to represent us in-game. We think we offer enough for everyone to allow you to enjoy the game, why not give something back to the Guild by representing.

We encourage our members to have an active say in the Guild, if there is something you’d like to see done in the Guild, bring it up to someone in Leadership, and we can discuss it, and hopefully make it work for you. We also encourage our members to stay as drama-free as possible. We all play Guild Wars 2 for a reason, and that reason is to have fun. We don’t want someone’s game experience ruined because of the attitude of another member, so we ask you, if you have any problems with anyone in the Guild, try and solve the issue in private by having a 1-on-1 conversation with the person, and if that doesn’t work, let someone in a Leadership position know about the issue, and we will help solve it for you.
