You can go marauder but there was a big update changing the meta, it would look that if built correctly guards wont need more presicion from gear, or maybe just a little bit. In that case there is still no meta. Maybe valk but there is some testing needed first

This are the Guardian changes if anyone is interested.
They look bland in my opinion and spirit weapons are still unusable in pvp thanks to their long cast times and slow animations. Enemies can just evade them by walking lol.
Some of the other changes are “acceptable” but still, nothing impressive. Seems support builds might be a little better.

What do you guys think of the changes?

Guardian
The addition of the ammo system also allows us to rework some old skill types. In this case, something we’ve long wanted to do—Spirit Weapons. These skills now immediately summon a weapon that performs a single, powerful skill and then vanishes. We also revisited some of the older skills and traits that have gone largely untouched in recent years to update them on the back end and smooth out some of their functionality. One example of this is Zealot’s Flame, which felt somewhat random in its burn application, so we’ve smoothed out the burning around you to pulse every second. In this update, we’ve also seized the opportunity to review a couple of trait lines, adjusting and reworking the Zeal and Radiance specializations.
Weapon Skills:

Zealot’s Flame: Reduced burning duration from 6 seconds to 3 seconds. Rather than burning once every 3 seconds after the initial cast, it now burns every second as long as the enhancement persists. Fixed a bug that could prevent the application of burning to nearby enemies after the initial cast.

Faithful Strike: The Healing Power contribution for this skill has been unsplit from PvP and will use the 100% increase in all game types.

Zealot’s Defense: Fixed a bug that caused this skill to continue blocking even if the skill was canceled.

Wave of Wrath: Reduced the range from 600 to 300. Increased the attack angle from 90 degrees to 110 degrees to better line up with its effect.

Orb of Light: Reduced the extended recharge time of this skill when detonating the orb of light from 400% to 300%. Detonating the orb of light now grants light aura to allies, in addition to its previous effects. This skill has been unsplit from PvP and will use the 20% higher heal scaling in all game types.

Empower: This skill now grants healing per pulse in addition to might. It will now heal for 17% of the previous healing value for 3 ticks and then 50% at the skill’s end.
Line of Warding: This skill has been unsplit from PvP and how has a 30-second recharge in all game modes.

Utility Skills:

Spirit Weapons: Spirit weapons have been reworked. They now use the ammo system.

Hammer of Wisdom: This now has an ammo count of 2, and using the skill orders the hammer to knock down your foe. Count recharge is 30 seconds.

Bow of Truth: This now has an ammo count of 2, and using the skill barrages an area with healing arrows. Count recharge is 30 seconds.

Shield of the Avenger: This now has an ammo count of 3, and using the skill creates a protective dome and flings projectiles at nearby enemies. Count recharge is 25 seconds.

Sword of Justice: This now has an ammo count of 3, and using the skill targets an area for the sword to repeatedly attack. Count recharge is 25 seconds.

Bane Signet: Fixed a bug with this skill when attempting to use it on a target behind you.

Hold the Line!: This skill has been unsplit from PvP and will use the increased 6-second duration in all game types.

Fragments of Faith: The detonation effect of this trap is no longer unblockable.
Traits:

Justice Is Blind: This trait now grants you light aura when you activate Virtue of Justice, in addition to its previous effects.

Radiant Fire: Fixed a bug with this trait in which it would fail to apply burning to nearby enemies when triggered.

Retribution: This trait now grants Ferocity while you have retaliation, in addition to its previous effect.

Zealous Scepter: This trait now also grants 1 stack of might for 10 seconds if you are using a nonscepter weapon when it triggers.

Expeditious Spirits: This trait has been reworked and renamed Eternal Armory. Eternal Armory increases the maximum ammo count of Spirit Weapon skills while reducing their recharge and causes strikes from Spirit Weapons to inflict burning.

Symbolic Avenger: This trait now converts 13% of your Toughness into Power, in addition to its previous effect.

Radiant Retaliation: This trait has been reworked and renamed Righteous Instincts. Righteous Instincts increases your chance to critically strike and grants 1 stack of might for 6 seconds every second while you have retaliation.

Symbolic Exposure: Increased the stacks of vulnerability inflicted by this trait from 1 stack to 3 stacks and the vulnerability duration from 3 seconds to 5 seconds.

Invigorated Bulwark: This trait has been reworked. It now grants increased outgoing healing percentage when you block and no longer requires you to wield a mace. This trait also reduces the recharge of mace skills and increases the duration of boons granted by mace skills.

Perfect Inscriptions: This no longer grants light aura but instead shares the passive effects of the activated signets with your allies.

Honorable Staff: This trait now grants up to 200 Concentration at level 80, regardless of weapon wielded. Removed increased boon duration while wielding a staff.

Protector’s Impact: This trait now casts Lesser Symbol of Protection when you use your healing skill in addition to when you take falling damage, and it has a recharge of 20 seconds. Fixed a bug that caused the falling damage reduction to not function while Lesser Symbol of Protection was recharging.

Healer’s Retribution: Fixed a bug that was preventing this trait from granting retaliation when using Purification.

Yeah! Guard medis with charges would be amazing! Do you know if all skills of the same type get charges or if its possible that only 1 would, lets say judges gets it but smite condi doesnt?

Hey guys
I was reading some posts on the other classes forums, mainly warrior; one of their threads was about some changes they noticed on the core traitlines during the information scavaging that went down after POF release and streams.
Just wanted to know if anyone noticed any changes on the guardian core traits or has any idea as to what kind of changes might hit us or would like to see before expansion launches.
Some of those changes might be the new mechanic “barrier” which would work great for guard or maybe some signet changes ( i heard some changes relating signets were coming in one of the streams) hopefuly even spirit weapons.
What do you guys think?

Im an architect so i know the kind of effort it takes to create something like this.
Everything from the visuals, the textures, the sounds and music; the atmosphere itself, they are all breath taking.

I played yesterday all day long in pvp and again today all morning, i tried several builds and i think there is very good diversity.
Who ever thinks DH is under powered is very mistaken. Sure some things need a little tweking but overall i was very impressed considering ive been arround since gw2 release and in every HOT beta.

The build i liked the most though was full melee DH with GS and sword/shield with 2 meditations and either save ur selves shout or test of faith trap. Test of faith works wonders with shield KB and gs pull dealing arround 4.5 k dmg on light targets each time they passed through.
The build has very good burst spike with big game hunter, it also has awesome survability, sustain and cc by using wings of resolve and shield of courage; it actually promotes very active gameplay which i loved. I rarely lost 1v1 and on teamfights it was even better.

Trap build is good on team fights, it deals a LOT of damage killing many opponents in less than 2 secs. If you stack the traps and enough time goes by without them being activated, when suddenly oponents arrive and get cought in them you can restack them quickly ontop of the player who is stuck on dragonsmaw resulting in instakill if they dont react fast. Obviously the problem of this build is survability since u dont have renewed focus.

Overall i really enjoyed it.

Help, grind is so very boring.

- I would advise you to go to higher lvl areas and dont just kill mobs, do the dynamic events as they give much more exp.

-crafting is a good way to lvl up

- do your story quests they give a lot of exp when completed.

- play pvp. You can receive tomes of knowledge there which can level you up very fast

Guardian Condition cleanses

The way i see it, there can only be three choises.

1.- running absolut resolution over supreme justice will give you less burning damage but gives you 2 condi cleanses if you use renewed focus. removing a total of 6 condis (3 each).

2.- he was standing in hes purging flames more than you did, giving him -30% condition duration.

3.- your were running contemplation of purity and he was running smite condition.
huge difference there since guardian only applies 1 condi. (dont forget your heal also applies SC)

Downgrade? the new virtues are the best about the dragon hunter by far, aoe aegis is nice and all, but to block eveything for a few seconds as an aoe? awsome! just f2 will need some time to get used to tho.

Shield of courage only destroys projectiles ir doesnt work against melee or close range atacks.

This is a repost i made in another thread. These are my toughts.

LB- could use some improvement.
1- auto atack is to slow.
2- skills 2 and 3 dont respect autoatack range.
3- skill 2 shouldnt root you.
4- you should be able to atack behind you with every skill.

TRAPS- not so bad.
1- cast time is to long, if cast time stays the same then make them ground targeted.
2- there should be condi removal and stun breaker built in traps.
3- heal trap is kinda lackluster considering the risk, initial heal should be higher.
4- lights judgement should have a knock down, only 10 invul is not enough.
5- other traps are generaly fine, fragments of faith is my favorite cause it has great synergy with shattered aegis and brings support.

VIRTUES- they absolutely need to be instant.
1- i like the general idea and i think they bring very interesting gameplay but they seriously need some improvements.
1- by not being instant their synergy with virtue line is terrible.
2- spear of justice is awesome in concept but it needs to either deal more dmg or create an imobilize at the end, i often find myself wanting to repress F1 whenever i see the chains going, it would be awesome if it had another effect by repressing F1 but increasing its cd if u use it. (I know of many friends who feel this way).
In order to make this skill instant it should apply a 2 sec window in which every thing you hit gets tethered and limit the max amount of tethered targets to 3 or 5. And increase range to 1200 so it works with LB.

4- wings of resolve are also a good idea but the leap is to short, it should be 900 range at least and due to the active gameplay it offers it should have a lower cd.

7- it would be awsome if there was a trait to cause shield of courage to deal knock back on activation to synergize with the trait That cripples.
8- shield of courage cd should be lowered.

TRAITS- some of them should be more generalized to work a long with other specs and builds including full melee.
1- piercing light needs some added effect like reducing trap cd or make them remove condis.
2- defenders dogma is lackluster.
3- Bulwark should apply knockback.
4- pure of sight needs to go as it does nothing at all if you are going melee, it should be a 25% movement increase trait.
5- hunters fortification would work so much better with instant virtues and it should give 1 added bonus besides protection or make it last 1 sec longer.
6- heavy light should bring bow 20% cd reduction and a bigger knockback
7- big game hunter is the best trait this line has, i really like it.
That is mainly what i think really needs to be changed but overall i belive DH could have a lot of potential if our basic requirements are met. Cheers!!

It would be nice if someone could summarize all of our feedback at the begining of the OP considering we all feel the same about almost every aspect of the specIalization. That way it would be esasier for Devs to look at our generalized feedback.

Cele/Carrion on pvp after trait change

Just wondering what your toughts are on cele after the patch is coming.
I see a lot of people looking forward to Carrion amulet for hybrid builds, but i think cele would Also work very well thanks to the increase on crit chanse from radiance while still having some decent numbers on other stats
