Error code 7 has been 100% fixed for me. I had this issue since beta and it never resolved itself and I did everything short of replacing the router..

Which I did the other day. I went back to my DGL-4500 and low and behold not a single error code 7.

Switching out my router solved my issue. You have no idea how happy I am, for literally the first time I can play GW2!

the MAIN reason for error code 7 is TEXAS.

I love the State of Texas but for the internet it is one of the worst states in the country to get to on a good network. The Infrastructure in Texas is quite good but the pipes leading to TX are not adequate.

Most users on the east coast will come through Alter.Net to get to Texas. If you are running through Alter.Net just give up now. Waste no more time and move onto a new game. There is no fix, no hope, just endless error code 7 and packet loss.

Once I realized I was hopping through Alter.Net at some spots past DC with 20% packet loss it was clear. I’m on Verizon Fios, 25/25 on a killer pc. Makes no difference, once on the highway of packet loss it matters not.

The bottom line is this, If the servers were hosted in Chicago for instance there would be little to no error code 7’s or problems. But since Austin forces you onto the craptrain network at least from the east coast there is no fix.

That is it. All those open this port and that really have no bearing, a smokescreen to cover the real issue which is the craptacular network a lot of players are stuck on en route to the servers of which are ironically owned by Verizon. Can’t win..

ArenaNet sucks, That is the bottom line. Arena net it must be my Fios clean as a whistle connection even though every game plays with incredible performance except GW2 and it must be me…NOT!@morons.

I’m very handy with networking and pc’s and to be honest I am completely stumped. My Ivy Bridge machine gets constant error code 7’s and frequently disconnects. Asus z77 Sabretooth with onboard intel nic.

The other machine is a i7-920 and it never ever disconnects in GW2. We are on the same network, Verizon Fios from Massachusetts. We never have internet issues and all games work perfectly online except GW2 on the ivy box. Both are fresh windows 7 installs with no anti virus installed.

I have forwarded the ports 80,443,6112,660 and every trick possible. We have switched out cat 5 cable, gone over the router tooth and comb and have really come to wits end.

Even when the ivy is the only connection it times out, with or without router. I think the settings that are causing this issue are in fact local. There is no way that one computer plays perfectly while the other is constant error code 7. I tried changing the recieve packet value to 128 from 256 on my intel to match the realtek but no help.

The bottom line is this: I have yet to be able to play GW2 for any length of time. My highest character is a woeful lvl 7 while my friend has multiple 80’s. He can play, I cannot.

I also want to note that this error code 7 issue has been going on since Beta and I will NEVER EVER< EVERRRRRRRRRR buy GW3, 4, 5 or 55 again. kitten off Arena Net!

Just want to say with my first and probably last post is I have given up on GW2. I have yet to play the game for more than 15 minutes without disconnecting. Basically an unplayable and frustrating game.

I’m on Verizon fios. My connection is perfect and I never and I mean never disconnect in any game. My friend also has Fios in the other town and he has already given up.

I hope NCSoft realize the extent of this problem cause it’s certainly on YOUR end. You also don’t need anyones network diag cause the problem is again obviously no user base.

Not even to mention no SLI support, watching my 670 sli do nothing is awesome also.

and I reported earlier confirmed by others Sylvari starting zone has audio cut outs on the npc’s. Had a few friends make nooblets and they confirmed the start/stop of npc audio at the same time.

I guess I’ll come back in 6 months..
