Yeah, I don’t disagree Thaddeus, just seems like such a waste to build out gear and “classes” with healing traits but in the end it does little for gameplay.

Just like they removed the magic chance (I think that was it) from gear and put it somewhere else in game for all players, seems like Healing needs to be removed from traits and gear, since it does little good in the grand scheme of things.

I think I answered my own question. . .finally found some “updated” posts using one of the three following editors:

I haven’t played in a couple of years.
One problem I remember was the challenge of finding a build tool that was up to date as new changes happened in the game.

Is there a recommended build tool that is fairly up to date?

But it sounds like it’s unfortunate they have tons of gear and traits for healing and yet it’s still just so-so.

I’ve been away for a couple of years.
My old guardian build had 900 to 1200 healing depending on my gear, but it seemed a big expense for very little return on dungeons and WvW.

Have they since changed the game so a healing “class” is now viable and wanted?

Oh, good, sounds like my exotic armor is still useful, so that ’s good.
Knowing about collections is helpful and will give me something to work towards.

I’ll look to see if the Dragon timer is still up and running to go battle some world bosses and find this three-headed wurm.

I haven’t played in 2-years.

I have 5 level 80’s with exotic armor
1 of those level 80’s had 100% map completion at the time.
3 of my 80’s have 400 in each of the crafting skills.
SPvP rank 20+
Low WvW ranking
Around 10K achievement points (I think that’s right)
I think I have one toon that has fractals level 19 or something like that
I don’t know anything about this “living world” stuff or any other content in the last two years.
I have a sixth slot with a level 21 necro
Unsure if any of my builds are still viable or what’s changed

Suggestions on where I should restart learning the world and/or doing stuff?

Can you point me in the direction of a viable build?
I realize there are hundreds of builds, but doesn’t mean they are viable for sPVP.

I have a longbow build that I’m looking at but that seems very specific to WvW. Another pet build that looks specific to PvE. Not finding many builds where people are confident in it’s sPVP ability. . .which is maybe why rangers seem useless in sPVP.

It’s just my current perception, that I’m hoping to debunk by locating a tested build.

My teen and I play a lot of sPVP and don’t seem to find many rangers. We play most classes, except ranger.

The rangers we do find in sPVP are like mosquitos…annoying as they shoot from a distance but not enough to worry about to chase after them. If we find one face-to-face it’s an easy kill. . .or so it seems.

Looking to make a ranger build, but are there any builds that actually can hold their own in a 1:1 battle or god forbid a two against one?

Are there any up to date build tools…in English…out there someone could recommend?

I know Fractals is new for me. Is that worth doing?
Should I be exploring or doing some other achievement or event?

I have 3 level 80 characters with full sets of armor and full-world discovery achievement…all pre-Fractals days. I think I’m rank 20 in sPVP as well and I have some WvW ranks.

As a returning player, I’m not sure what’s changed or if there is anything new to really do.

Recommendations on what to explore or achieve?

I’ve been away from the game for nearly three months and still see my builds are very active out on GW2Build.com. But it also appears the tool is still outdated.

Anyone know of an English tool that is kept up to date for creating builds?

I did a brief search of the boards and didn’t find my answers so hopefully someone can fill me in. . .

1. Is it correct that Legendary items have the same stats as exotic?

2. Is it correct that if you want a particular weapon (i.e. mace) you only get one choice with whatever stats it comes with?

3. Is it correct that you attempt to transmute the legendary skin onto an exotic item that has the stats you want, that you lose the stats?

4. What’s the frigg’n point to going through all that trouble and expense for legendary if it is so limited???

I see how that loses me some vitality, crit damage and defense, but it may be worth it for the speed.

Ty. I think part of me tends to want to keep Utilities, especially elite in reserve, but there is no reason I can’t use it more often than once ever few fights.

But the one thing I totally lack in PvPx is, mobility.
If it wasn’t for Savage Leap and some control attacks to slow others down, I’d be really pitiful.

Maybe I’m still getting to know my profession or I’m missing something else, because Warrior’s Sprint seems weak at 10% compared to other classes with a base of 25-33% speed.

Any suggestions on how to be more mobile without giving up too much attack and defense? Or do I have all the tools, I just need to learn the professions better?

Looking to find a guild that helps meet the following requirements. . .

1. My wife and I have been MMO-ing sine the beta of Everquest 1. We’ve been very fortunate in the past to find guilds that keep the dialog PG-rated. Looking for a guild with similar views on the VOIP usage.
