VNboards for DAoC was something everyone should have experienced because this community is the biggest, absolute most jello consistency group of “hardcore gamers” I have ever met. Weaker than puppy pee and softer than moist bread.

GW2 is confirmed to have the softest community known to man.

Flat out, as a community, GW2 has a bunch of kitteners that don’t appreciate anything that the devs are doing. If you all aren’t calling for a nerf, your kittening about one that was made that someone else called for. The devs here are so much more active than other places, it’s ridiculous and amazing at the same time. The stuff you all are doing when a dev goes in and plays/streams are the reason that they don’t do stuff like this in other games. Consider yourselves lucky that the give a kitten

It was just funny to watch the back and forth, neither side giving an inch, and then all of a sudden, a cut in communication due to having to go home from work. Almost looks like a white flag to me.

Some SF Guardian from [VN] guild…Everyone on mapchat seems to think he is hacking, but could give no description…i had a fair 1v1 with him, that got added on, we shared a /bow prior to, even another SF guy saw us sizing each other up and saluted me, lol. this was in HoD BL SW of map near the spawn.

Good fights.

We have had a lot of good fights against that small man guild though. [Shin] I believe. Literally the only small man guild I have seen on SF. Props and shout outs to you all.

Completely disagree. My lovely and noble server NSP is not upset because we were accidentally double teamed. That happens from time to time naturally. We’re rightly outraged because this was a PLANNED double-team where GoM and HoD commanders were specifically telling their troops NOT to attack each other, where GoM and HoD where HANGING OUT next to each other and camping our spawn point. Not only is this completely unethical and dishonorable, it also breaks the game’s intentions for WvW. I used to think GoM and HoD were decent servers with good people. It was a relief not to fight AR. But now? I’ve lost all respect for GoM and HoD. Here at NSP we value a good clean fight. Our commanders would never do anything so low. I call on those decent, honorable players in HoD and GoM, of which I know there are many, to speak out against this kind of behavior in your player base. You can still save your reputations by getting it together and playing the game as it was intended. It’s up to the good, honest commanders on GoM and HoD to make sure this doesn’t happen again or the stain of this knavish dishonor will follow you around through whatever tiers you’re in.

And as far as numbers of players rendered before culling goes,my memory of DAOC was of horrible crude graphics and the servers crashing in epic battles. This game has much higher graphical demands because the characters look a lot better. I like how they let you set your culling and graphic quality…it shows me the devs of this game really are trying to solve some of the more annoying aspects.

Never forget the raid of Tristan from November 2003. over 4k confirmed people on the Alb Relic Keep…Tristan was out for 18 hours.

Anywho, ive had great fights here just like on DAOC and i certainly play the same way. I kind of feel like it gives me a better feel for this game.

I’m with y’all on that. DAOC is my game man. I play solo here and kick kitten just in DAOC they focused more on the killing of other people. In GW2 they focus on siege. The WvW abilities are a joke for what I like to do, which is roam solo picking off players, not guards. If they added like aug power, aug healing, etc, actual abilities that will help you kill other people head up, this would be in essence DAOC 2.

When I first started I was like it ain’t DAOC but it will do. Now I think the game has the potential to go even further, but they gotta be willing to take it there (anet)

For the record, I played Dogskin the Armsman on Tristan, and Jay the Mercenary on Gareth. Same name after the merger, both toons.

Players attitudes say wonders about the health of their server. A little “defensive” are we?He said it doesn’t seem that ET or FC had forums/websites. He never said y’all didn’t. But let me put it in words you may get:

Omfg dude said he googled and binged and did everything short of a DNA test and found no results of a website, forums, etc. Must be because He was T1, T2 or T3. Wowowowowoooow!

All them days and nights of “defending” your own BL has you in a bit of a tizzy. Might want to get that checked out.

Go ET then…basing this off of scores. Nobody wants to be dead last and have to deal with that.

I just landed today from T3, but I’ve gotten a kick out of T7 so far. Very evenly matched, and very fun.

Video game = fun.
Presentations = not fun.

Gaming = fun.
Work = not fun.

Based on this reasoning:

fun = video games and gaming.
Not fun = presentations and work.

Presentations = work = not fun.
Video games = gaming = fun.

I want to have fun.

Btw, the WvW here is by far more evenly matched from what I have seen.

I’m not too shy to admit, I am still new to this game, but I am a PvPer. PvP in the sense of the word, meaning killing other players. I like structured, I like WvW. I’ve only been playing since about January. Up until then, I played WoW for rated BG’s and Arena, and I played Dark Age of Camelot for my roaming fix of RvR (WvW) I prefer to run solo, but I can lead a mean squad. So I really don’t know where I fit in at I guess is what I’m saying. I like to lead people, but I prefer to run around in smallish groups or completely solo. I like to run sPvP as well, and plan on looking to build a dedicated team.

Yak’s Bend is T3 ATM, and really kicking some kitten I’m proud of the boys. But in the little bit of time I have played, I have come to the conclusion that it is too zergy for me, and what I want to get out of the game. I have a lot of really good friends on Yak’s that do mostly endgame PvE, not so much WvW.

I work overnights, and have a small family. I’m no power gamer like I used to be back when I was in the army. My play times are anywhere between 9:30am est and 3:45pm est Monday throughout Friday, and sporadic on the weekends, sometimes late night early morning.

I do PvE, but only for the sole purpose of getting money to buy WvW materials with, weather it is siege, food, whatever. I have a PvE suit with magic find and I run around Cursed Shore doing events and salvaging everything I get and putting it on BL trader, lol. I’m a minimalist, sue me. I have a great guild that specializes in PvE Endgame that will be staying on Yak’s Bend. This is a personal move based on how I like to play the game, and I won’t be leaving the tag, only the server for the WvW.

Sorry for the rant, now the questions:

How is the community?
Which server would fit my play style and play times?
What server would be willing to have a leader fight by them, with no affiliation or fcuks given? (Because literally I’m at the point to where I am competitive, but I see this video game for what it is, a game.)
And what is the population of former DAoC players on some of these servers? I mean I know JQ is the “DAOC” server but I’m not about to go to bigger zergs and machine screaming photo slide show lag, lol. Plus, its a little easier to play with people you have something in common with. All lower NA servers will be considered, I just want some good fights with some respectful people fighting beside me, and opposing me.

Oh the humanity. Guys, play where ever you want to play, it’s up to you. This thread quickly turned into an Immigration Proposition on one of California’s 873 elections they have every year. Reading some of the response posts on here have been providing me with good hours of laughter while I’m at work on my overnight shift! Some of you should work for your respective state/local/national governments…or at the very least, become a creative speech writer for Student Government at the local university.

No place is perfect. Even some angels fell from heaven, if you get into religion…ponder that. But just reading the absolute gawking and collegiate reports that you guys have detailed out for them to join your video game server is absolutely hilarious to me. It’s all not needed. They will choose a server and either A) will wikittenEA time and get wrecked NA hours, or continue to get sat on and wrecked by the even bigger SEA time covered servers as well as the NA folks.

If you are moving to win, go to JQ. If you wanna do the right thing, stay on SoS. if you want more of the same, with a very unpredictable future, move to any other server out there not named JQ. All it takes is 1 server to move in or out of your tier for someone to be dominating or getting rolled all over again.

I’m at work now so I have no idea what the scores are looking like, but YB will hold their own this round.
