So a slight twist on this topic:
Engaged a rifle warrior on my Ele the other night at South Camp and lost (yes, I’m bad and I know it
).
I’m lying there dead, about to WP and a fellow server thief engages the guy and downs him. So far so good.
Fellow server thief whispers me to ask how could I lose to the rifle warrior. I candidly admit that I am kitten (because it is true – not a roamer, just a trier). So he lets the enemy guy rez, take the camp and toodles off laughing leaving me dead!!!
Moral of the story is that you get hatred, and salty whispers even from your own side. Block and move on.
Cheers.
You can post the ‘Crash Details’ from the GW2 Crash Report, if possible.
Or, you can contact the Tech CS Team via the ‘Support’ link above/below.
Good luck.
Problem is the GW2 Crash report does not appear. The game simply goes black and cuts to the error dialog box before closing.
Appreciate the suggestions though. Thanks.
Since the Jan 17th patch I’m crashing several times a night. Re-downloaded client, repaired many time etc. Even updated all my drivers including video, chipset and BIOS.
Here’s my report from Reliability monitor. Any help or pointer appreciated:

I too am getting frequent client crashes and disconnects. Sometimes the screen goes black, sometime I get the option to send a diagnostic report. Viewing reliability monitor logs tells me that the gw2-64.exe executable is crashing due to a memory stack issue. Nothing has been updated other then the client via the patch. Repairs on the client do not work. Memory diagnostics come back normal. Issue is patch related without a doubt and you are not alone. Funny how people make assumptions about others in a less than subtle passive-aggressive manner? Humans eh- I’ll never understand you. Hoping Anet are alerted to this and can help.
It’s a Norwegian Blue!
Thanks for the reminder OP. Voted yes because I’d rather play in a full map than wander aimlessly in an empty one. Each to their own opinion. Enjoy.
@TheBravery:
Yup – it’s complicated in nature but fairly simple in the light of players expectations and experience – population imbalance delivers a poor experience therefore players leave. The factors behind that imbalance……well……they could go on forever and we will never know for sure eh?
THE root of the current problem is, as others have mentioned previously, population imbalance. No amount of suggested tweaks, fixes, rollbacks or WvW staff levels are going to help unless that particular Elephant in the room is addressed first. Don’t ask me how – I have no idea and no wish to make a suggestion.
I’ll add my name to the problem. Stuttering is driving me crazy. Thank goodness it’s not just me. Please fix this.
Depends on what makes WvW enjoyable for you. I run a full ‘zerker Ranger sometimes and he’s incredible fun – deeply satisfying to blast down a glass cannon from 100 to 0 in 3 seconds! Of course, I too can get ganked the exact same way on that toon.
When I want to zerg or survive in a roaming scenario I hop onto my condi Necro and either Well-bomb the bejesus out of the enemy or kite gankers until they inevitably succumb to bleeds and poison.
Horses for courses and all that. Have fun.
I’m all for change driven by the community that benefits the WvW player base. Any changes that make the experience better than it is at the moment (and I was away for 6 months) have my vote.
It’s particularly sad to login and see how empty the maps are.
Many thanks. I shall try again.
Just back after 6 monthkittenus. Tried to spend some proof of heroics at the vendor in EBG last evening but the tab where the scrolls should be was empty – message saying nothing to show here at the moment? Is this still disabled or am I doing something wrong. I don’t have the HoT expansion yet – is that the issue?
Many thanks.
You are looking at the wrong vendor. You want the Heroics Notary. I don’t know if/where there is one in EBG, I have always bought them at the starting camp in the home borderland. From the waypoint if you go south to the first structure with all the vendors, he is on the left (east) side.

I think the problem here is the wall, not the ranger. For the love of Oprah, please nerf the walls!
I always run ‘Wall’ as my 2nd utility slot.
I think that was me if you were from ET or Kain?
I laughed, my party laughed, my entire guild laughed. I’m still laughing as I type this.
You melted faster than a snowball in Hades. I’m sorry.
I noticed ‘Hyperbole’ being used multiple times to flame users who complained about this prank.
Does the over use of ‘Hyperbole’ make it ‘Hyper-hyperbole’.
Just musing.
Funny for 5 minutes now please turn it off. Making my game unplayable. Giving me a headache and poor customer service.
Simply put: this is not a poorly thought out design choice by Anet or NCsoft.
Simply put: this is a very well thought out design choice for one reason – Goldsink!
I once ‘out-rangered’ a Ranger on my rifle Warrior in WvW. I literally sat their shooting him whilst cleansing his conditions. Every so often I would smack his pet with the rifle butt when the little b*gger got in my field of vision.
This, of course, tells you more about how bad he was rather than how good I am….because I seriously suck as a Warrior.
Thanks for clarifying. Now stuck with a Engineer I don’t care to play.
Question: If I delete a character that has a maxed level crafting discipline can I pick that discipline at the same level on another character (for a cost of course)?
Here’s a thought – stay loyal to your home world through the good times and the bad.
Play with honour and pride for your world in WvW regardless of where the rankings lead you. Try to have fun. Try to enjoy. Don’t be a sheep.
Peace.
