What is that reference to “the bearded reptile buried somewhere beneath me”? The first time I heard it, I said “What??”. Any ideas?
I’m surprised no one else has mentioned the following: open your wallet, mouse over the Badges of Honor icon on the right side, and you’ll see a tool tip that says:
“Earned and spent in WvW to purchase various WvW items, including the “Gift of Battle” component…"
-) It’s hard to catch everything when you make a change ….
It’s not a Mystic Forge recipe; it’s a Leatherworker (level 400) recipe.
Of courses, if such an item existed, it would tie in with the game to have the Citadel of Flame dungeon vendor to sell it. -)
But that wouldn’t directly generate income for Anet. So sell it to us in the Gem Store, please!
As another item to sell in the Gem store, I’d like to suggest some item that changes the color of the flames coming from the Engineer’s Flamethrower. It’s an extremely popular weapon, fun to use and watch – why not sell us the means to have blue/green/black/pink/whatever colored flames?
I’d hope it might be easier to just change the flame color than, say, re-skin the Flamethrower… (hint, hint).
And, dare I say it – rainbow-colored flames! With a unicorn at the end!
A big thank you to the POW guild for doing this! A lot of people finally got to finish this JP because of their effort.
It was a bit like herding cats, I’m sure, and I want to compliment them on their patience with all the participants!

What a nice thing of you all to do! I’ve avoided this JP because of all the running around. -) I’ll see if I can’t join in at 6:30 EST.
Most importantly, for Anet – if they provide a Build Template mechanism with, say, 3 slots per char – they can then sell us more slots in the Gem Store as an upgrade.
For the other MMOs I play that have Build Template mechanisms, this is always done. Imagine how many slots we’d want/need to unlock to experiment with traits/skills/etc.
Anet – sell us Template slots – please!
I’ve also been having a very hard time getting Troll bladders, from the boss at Amber. I know it’s probably just RNG, but it feels like enemy action… -)
Regarding ’Verata’s seared ring’: I can buy it from the Vendor in Camp Resolve. (I’ve completed ’Seeds of Truth", so that may be necessary). So check the vendor. -)
Also, stability will keep you on your feet, if I recall correctly.
It was right at the usual Teq zerg spot – I don’t think the ‘fish heads’ spawn right there, but I could be wrong. Nice idea, though!
Not to derail the topic, but similar (and odd): at Teq, a commander (!), pre-event, called out “Stack on me”. Many did, and something he did knocked folks back, and (I think) downed some. I don’t have any idea what it was (I told the cmdr that folks might not listen to his instructions during event…).
Any ideas? I really didn’t understand what happened so I may have mis-interpreted what I saw.
Nice videos! It can be tricky going in with an experienced group and not knowing which way to head, when to run through, etc. This helps a lot!
NP, and that is poor wording on the part of the NPC…
I think I saw this in another post: try going to one of the main cities (DR, etc) and talk to the trainer there. That fixed it for the previous poster.
I was surprised that I managed to get all WvW points for world completion in about a week.
I ran around grabbing everything I could solo – creeping into some areas, grabbing a POI while my conjured weapons distracted the guards, etc. Then I just kept checking for the towers/keeps/etc. I was lucky, we must have had an active week.
But waiting for that last POI to flip…. then hoping I wouldn’t get killed running way into ‘enemy’ territory… interesting!
same for me, and the services that check if a site is down for “just me” or for everybody think it’s down as well.

Thanks! I’d found the info about bank access and worlds from the wiki, but it was unclear that guesting would prevent my accessing things on another world. It sounds like it is so, but that doesn’t make sense to me. -) No matter though, time to transfer!

I follow you, and this is what I’ve done as well (partying with guildmates) – sorry to leave it out -) But still, Guild window shows no active missions even when they’re active, no Treks when they’re active. So I’m wondering what the issue is.
Talking to other folks, some have the same problem, apparently, but no one’s sure of the cause/answer.
(This may not seem like the right forum for a guild question, but none of the Guild forums had an area for problems. I hope someone here can help me.)
I have a problem guesting to my guild’s world: I’m on the world “Crystal Desert”, but my guild is mostly on “Henge of Denravi” (HoD). When I guest over there to participate in guild missions, I never see any “Active Missions” listed even when they’ve been activated – so when we have a “Guild Bounty”, someone has to tell me in chat what the targets are, or for a “Guild Trek” what locations to search for.
In addition, when I guest to HoD, and visit a Guild Banker, they tell me my guild doesn’t have a bank, even though it does.
I’m trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong -), so I hope someone can help me. Or perhaps this is just how guesting works and there’s no problem. -)
More details:
When I guest to HoD, the world selection window says “You are currently guesting in Henge of Denravi”. If I then select my character (got 5 alts), and start the game, my Guild window reads (at top, in the title bar):
[Guild Name]: Crystal Desert Main [G]
I’m not sure if this means anything, but it looks like I’m not really at HoD?
I’m considering transferring to HoD but since it’s not cheap to do so, I’d like to make sure that things will work right when I get there. -) If I’m making some error now, I’ll probably make the same error when I transfer. -)

When I reached crafting level 125 (in Weaponsmithing), I bought a recipe from the Weaponsmithing vendor that let me create a “Strong Iron Imbued Inscription”. At level 125 of crafting, I create level 35 weapons, so I crafted some nice level 35 Rare weapons for my level 35 character. -)
Now that my character is level 40, can I somehow create a suitable Rare weapon for a level 40? I tried making another “Strong Iron Imbued Inscription” to combine with steel items (Shield boss and backing), but the Discovery window didn’t let me combine them.
The next recipe(s) I can buy from the vendor are for crafting level 200 (which I think correspond to a character level of 50). Is there some way to craft Rare items at crafting level 150 and 175?
I hope this question makes sense, and thanks for any help!

1) My lev 80 Engineer has a rare level 39 pistol he used way back when, and I kept it around. Since it’s soulbound, but I have far more powerful weapons now, is there any reason to keep it around? My other chars can’t use it, right? So just salvage it? Anything else useful that it can be used for?
2) I understand the idea of a character being “de-levelled” when going back to a lower-level area. I can see my health is reduced, but I’m not sure what else gets affected. Are weapons and armor ‘down-graded’ in their abilities/damage/etc. as well?
