DC/Crashes should NEVER take away your reward

Won Dragon’s Stand. Cinematic start, game crash, close game, computer freeze, restart computer aaaaaand I lost my 1-hour spent trying to finish Dragon’s Stand to get the Crystalline Ore.

I demand my reward, this is completely unacceptable. And it’s always the stupid Dragon’s Stand map, change it so people can join a completed map, if only to loot the Noxious Pods, you still need machetes for it so it’s basically the same as the Tarir Multiloot that is still done to this day.

Let’s hope you all have a nice day, because mine was just ruined.

Not seen them for a long time, nor have he spawned in his supposed point in the Cove.

Considering he’s part of a precursor collection, this should be made sure to be on par with the rest of the objectives of the Collection.

10k drinks [Merged]

It’s a Mad Mad world!…Of Tyria.

Here’s a thought. The 10k drinks should be on par with the other 9 parts of the collection.

So based on my experience (A Humble, mid to low skilled casual player):

I had most of the items for the Mystic Forge so I saved in Gold there, but you need 150 Mystic Coins and the Sigils + Runes might be exspensive. But hey, that’s three, done in 10-15 minutes.

What next?

Ah, the events!

JP x 3, took me 30 minutes of retrying, did not enjoy it.

Bell Choir x 3 songs, 4-6 minutes, got lucky, suck at these things and surprise, was not fun, won’t be doing it again.

Snowball Mayhem x 3 Victories, 6½ Hours, granted I am bad at PvP, but seriously, unlucky or ridiculous?

Toycapolypse, 30 waves (Acchiv says 50, but I only did 30, ah well), this was fun, not very rewarding, but fun, about 1 hour 10 minutes there.

And then the last item, 3 times watching a Dragon being bullied by a achievement-hunting horde of players. 1½ day due to me having a bad sleeping pattern.

So I got 9/9 in 1-2 days. Wait, are you telling me there’s 10?
No problems, it shouldn’t be so hard, considering the time and effort I put into the other 9.

10,000 Drinks. I got ~600 without farming, during the time I did the other 9.

This is not reasonable. Now, it still require you to put in a 100-150g without the drinks, but with them, it’s 1000g with current prices, if you buy them. So farm them?

Yes, because that is what this game is all about, farming things. And I got a time-limit on me! So I need to reach a quota every day, and compensate for days lost to me wanting to play other games, go on holiday events or doing anything else then play the game!

So here I am at 9/10, and the last step is more boring, time consuming and/or expensive then the other 9 combined, by far!

Put it down to 1000, so it’s on par (Or slightly above), to the other 9 ANet, stop being silly, please.

And I know, I don’t have to do this, but except the AP from the meta, there’s nothing else to gain from this Holiday Event, the Shoulders ARE the main event, it’s the only item on display which have any kind of credit to it. Be it only for your own satisfaction or if you are one of those people who like to flaunt your E-pen at others.

That’s my thought of this all. There’s nothing “Entitling” about wanting it to be reasonable on par with other requirements of the Collection, it just makes sense considering it got a time-restraint.

Fix this now.

10k Drinks?

Time and/or Gold constraints.

1k Drinks?

Doable, considering the holidays are up.

I want this Shoulder Item for my own sake, I don’t mind if it’s rare or not, question is, do you, ANet?

Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Dreader the Seventh.6895

This has been a two day read. And I definitely see why.

First, a story. I been avoiding most of the hype and information about the expansion, it’s how I deal with every game. But I seen videos about the specializations, I been informed by friends what they like about what they been shown, it’s all good. But I also remain withdrawn to the hype, I want to see the expansion in action, to go on an adventure myself.

I did buy it beforehand, as an altoholic it solved two issues at once for me. A character slot for the Revenant and the satisfaction that I had the game now (I am not always sure when I have money available). The day of the expansion and I download it while making dinner, once done (both of them) I log in. Create my Revenant and tome it up as far as I can (lvl 75), the rest I do Mad King’s Labyrinth for, easy Xp (<3) and AP.

This is where my enjoyment end. At max lvl I see and realize I am unable to use the specialization, even if I finish exploring all of Old Tyria. 400 HP? I know I avoided most of the hype and information, but it must have come up, right? Nope. It’s a unpleasant surprise. I log to the only character I have world explorer on, my necro. I come short of halfway through to Reaper, and my heart sinks deeper. I look for ways to why this is, if it’s a bug (Yes, that’s my first thought), and find this thread. I read through this whole thread and cannot believe what I read, from both sides, ofcourse.

tl;dr: I am badly informed and get the 400 HP thrown in my face like a Halo Plasma Grenade, for the Elite Specializations.

Well I don’t know what to say, but I try to play. I cannot get into it, even if gliding is fun, the Masteries are a chore but I still enjoy doing them, they are my goal. But the Specializations is really far out of place for me.

I’d go with the 60-100 range of HP here, since it still demands some time in the new zones or the old to get the Specialization, but it’s done with early. Rest is fine al thou tough as Chuck Norris’s abs (I will need to change my nerves after each attempt in a future raid, I feel..).

Lastly, something I noticed while reading through it all, is that those that are fine with this all, many of them take it on themselves to try and invalidate or shame the ones being concerned with things, by calling them whiners, babies or insinuating that those players are bad. Ofcourse there’s others who are showing concerns that would refer to these players as no-lifers or such, however what I want to let you know that it’s not constructive at all, it just separates the community. Let those who like hardcore gaming do that and vice-versa.

Thing is that I believe it would be better for ANet to actually respond and change the concept of Elite Specializations here, because:

- If they do change them to a acceptable level of HP, the majority of the ones concerned would most likely take it well and ANet could start trying to build the relationship back up. The downside to this could be, as always, people who don’t want to see content they already done being “dumbed down”, complain.

- If they do not do any change to this, the subject at hand will most definitely remain in the back of the head of everyone who don’t immediately leave the game and could haunt ANet in the future as well (It has probably already reached this stage, but if they do not respond this will be much worse, I believe). There’s exclusively downsides to this option, as I doubt the players who are fine with this is going to give more money to ANet just because they choose this option.

There is however a possibility of more alternatives, but I think these are the major two that could happen.

And before I end this horrible forum post I composed, I am a 20 (Soon 21) x lvl 80 character strong player with over 5k hours in the game. I am a role-player and a PvE-player. The thought of doing the busy-work for specialization on all of them is so overwhelmingly tiring, that I’d rather write a Forum-post in a thread already full of concerns and experiences of the same kind, the kicker is that I dislike writing.

Play nice and don’t be rude, we all got concerns and lives, let’s not make it harder for others unnecessarily.

Retain progress and rewards when Dc/crash/etc

On bosses, dungeon paths and other events, where you are disconnected/crash/accidentally restart your computer, but are able to log in again within a short time frame, you should still be rewarded for your efforts if you partook in the fight.

Many times, and often when a map is full, I have suffered random crashes and disconnections, but have been able to log in immediately, only to have been given no reward, despite being there for more then enough time to gain rewards before the crash/dc.

What I want to be added to the game, to protect at least from some loss of effort into events like Teq, Vinewrath or Dungeon Paths, is a system that recognize if you have taken part of the event which you got “thrown out” from, and give you the rewards.

Disconnection/Crashes shouldn’t punish your progress, in my opinion.

What do you think?

Aetherized Weapons cost Reduce

in Suggestions

Dreader the Seventh.6895

Reduce the cost of Aetherized Weapons to 1 Black Lion Claim Ticket again.

Why?
- Gather the necessary scraps for the ticket is not a easy task, but a reasonable one. Gather scraps for five of the tickets are insane, and will take ages, unless you buy keys for real money, thus favoring the wealthy.

To have these Claim Ticket Skins at the price of one (1), will also favor the market on the Black Trader, as it is now, they will only stack in price, becoming even more expensive (Expensive out of my own experience, where my Gold gain aren
’t as high as others).

The raise are unreasonable, please reconsider.
