As WvW has become more competitive, abuse of siege has become a big issue. Whether its due to spy’s from other servers or just players who are trolling, its affecting our ability to compete fairly at times.

Included is a screen shot of flame rams placed to block NPC usage of my own servers Keep.

I would like to propose a solution if possible. When someone places siege, the person who lays it is bonded to the siege and can take control at anytime. Thus I think siege should be modified so that right clicking it would allow the option to report the person who places it to help track down the people who are abusing it.

Pound for pound you guys are excellent opponents and I was really impressed with your teamwork, I heard reports that it was next dam near impossible to keep conditions on you guys. I don’t think that we would have won, but I believe SBI and TC were neck and neck in power. The three of us could have worked some unbelievable magic if given the chance. SoR may have been bigger, but not by such a factor as to invalidate either opponent as now.

There’s no love for art in this game. Tier 2 could have been art.

Thank you for posting this. Announcing paid transfers and promoting one server in a balanced matchup has ruined WvW for my server. One servers guilds pretty much all left to join the other one in the same matchup, which is now as unbalanced as they come. Its been extremely frustrating.

The January 11th SBI-SOR-TC match-up was untainted by transfers. It was close that week, SOR won because they didn’t sleep and the commanders pulled night shift duty. We have all seen a “fair fight,” it’s odd that people forget that match-up so quickly.

Forget? Hmm. You must not have been paying attention (or looking behind you) during that week so I will call history to my claims. SoR had already acquired some notable guilds before the start of the week (Hel and some others I believe?) and by the end of the week many more had transferred. It was not close at all and was certainly was not untainted as you say, and thus, it does merely constitute a Win*. I’m not saying that it was most likely that TC would have beaten SoR if there were no transfers, but I do think there was a decent enough chance that we could have won to make things very interesting and entertaining. Now it is neither.

Fighting Sanctum Of Lawl is kinda like trying to drop kick an elephant at the moment. They are pretty big. Losing to server hoppers isn’t really losing. In another few months or weeks they will bail to some where else and pretend they did all the work there to.

I believe this statement has significant merit. I want more players and coverage on the TC, but the quality of the players is extremely important as well. SoR and SBI had a real opportunity to break the monotony of this tier after blackgate left and instead ruined it. Your the biggest kid in the block but even with your new numbers your just a big fish in a small pond. Blackgate accomplished your gains while fighting SoR -and- TC. In spite of that, they are struggling to keep up with JQ and SoS, which means it’s more likely then not that SoR will be smashed to pieces in tier 1 and continue swapping places with blackgate or some similar scenario.

CD you guys are alright, I miss you guys in fact. WvW hasn’t been quite as good as since the days when TC/CD/FA faced off. You’ve definitely got a second home here with supply dolyaks waiting for ya on the other side. They will be carrying cookies.

I’m also sure that there are people on SBI that are burned out from weeks of rough matches.

I’m sure this week’s match is already wearing a bit thin with some people, especially our commanders who are trying to put points on the board. However, we’re winning a lot of fights out there. We just don’t have the resources available to hold many objectives on the map. Doing well in open field fights is going to have to be enough for awhile, at least while we’re up against a server with such a large WvW presence.

Great work by AL and TSL last night in BGBL. Double D’s been waiting awhile for a good chance to bring the pain train to BG but most of the time I find TC and SoR too scared to even do breakout events while we slap the crap out of each other in our respective BLs. I want to say was pretty annoyed by a couple TC commanders I’d never seen or heard of who all of the sudden flocked to BG once we actually did the work to gain a foothold and were making headway. Besides a couple nice incursions by PiNK, TSL, and maybe ML? (sorry if I missed someone), but it’s still been pretty dang lonely here in BGBL for the past week or so and I would have appreciated your leadership then. You show up when we have the numbers to get things done and then you split us up to fight SoR and perpetuate two fronts to fight. Next time please step up and BE the commander to lead us out of the storm instead of riding someone else’s coattails, thanks in advance.

Thanks to all the TC/SoR/BG who held with a truce in the JP, very decent of yall.

Alright lets get ready for another week of fierce TC vs SoR while Blackgate steamrolls. One thing I have to give to BG is that you know when to pick your battles and you guys can ninja points as good if not better then TC or SoR.

Great job to all the TC that supported PiNK tonight in Blackgate’s borderlands. Golem rushing and resetting a fully upgraded garrison, then holding out by the skin of our teeth for 3 hours while being outnumbered, most of that time also holding north-eastern tower to boot.

That was one of the most epic battles I had the fortune of stumbling on. Seeing all those golums in the lords room… Haha good work PiNK. Bjorn was making some kitten good calls when I was there.

…I haven’t seen anyone from SoR come forward and support this idea either, infact they’re straight up rejecting the idea and the commanders have denied any such talk or decision on TC community website.
If we’re not able to make any gains during our strongest hours even after the return of many regulars whom I haven’t seen in the last 2 weeks, then maybe we can think of an alliance or approach someone, it would make sense at that time. Trying to shake up things just two weeks into the tier isn’t helping anyone at all. Alliance can only help you keep the top server in their position by denying them upper tier, but it isn’t helping your server since your supposed ally is happily raking up points behind your back and its too late by the time you realize it.

I stated my experiences came from in game, not a forum and you apparently missed some comments here in support. You don’t want to beat BG? Good for you, I do. I’m not going to waste my time on something if I feel like the people I’m fighting could be helping with the bigger threat. We’re the RP server that was the butt of a lot of jokes but in that same respect we’ve demonstrated cool achievements unique to our server. Demonstrating the power of an alliance or non-aggression pact is the next challenge I think we’re capable of and it gives me something to fight for in a bleak situation rather then just trying to slap the other loser while the winner continues to take all.

Alliances are pointless in this tier. So you beat BG by enforcing a strict 2v1 for a few weeks. Now one of you moves up to tier 1 and now what? If you can’t win t2 by yourself, do you expect to win t1 by yourself?

Other BG have expressed interest to see if the rest of ya can rise to the challenge. Beating BG seems kind of like a symbolic gesture that would mix things up a little and part of the fun. When TC WvW is fully queued, we appear to be evenly matched thus BG ought to be the ones worrying about what happens when they don’t outnumber their opponents the majority of the time. You just deserve some practice with that.

I’ve been more in a watching-mode this week, than direct posting mode since some of the posts are so facepalm-worthy. Sure, you bought the game and its your own keyboard so you can type what you want or play the way you want. But to those few TC posts about some possible non-aggression towards SoR, first of all – was it agreed at server-wide level? If not, pls don’t try to post it as if it has been agreed upon so as to avoid any confusions. If there’s anything agreed upon, I’d like to have regular commanders comment on this – I see SoR has denied anything of sorts and TC regulars didn’t mention anything yet.

To my knowledge, we’ve been doing good so far despite having many people still on vacations, and the same can be said for all 3 servers. I don’t see the need or desperation to call for an alliance yet when none of the 3 servers are at their full capacity with the holidays, and all 3 servers holding their ground well so far. It’s only our 2nd week in this tier and we’re still in the “testing the waters” mode while bringing our best fights with current numbers against these both.

BG & SoR seems to have some bad blood between themselves, and I’ll leave it at that for them to deal with each other. We really don’t have to ask any particular server to only focus on one enemy and not fight us while we’re dealing with both of them, it’s their choice and their willingness whether to aim for 1st or settle at 2nd or whatever.

Honestly, I haven’t seen these posters make a single post here in the past representing TC and suddenly they come over here asking for alliances and stuff – I mean not sure if these are new transfers or just someone who has nothing to do with TC just posting something to make us look weak and are not aware of how TC rolls in general. We don’t back off from a fight, nor do we have to request other server to not attack us (except if its a peacewalk or JP or something like that). We got good strong people willing to stand up and fight by themselves and some great commanders who can lead their team to some epic battles.
Edit:- The energy spent here is better off spent on bumping our recruitment thread so we get more Oceanic coverage and have better fights instead of asking an enemy to ally with us, which always would end up badly, because majority of your or their server isn’t aware of such “truce” and ending up in unnecessary bad blood.

I think anyone is perfectly in their rights to point out why an alliance is a good idea. I was not aware that a handful of forum frequenters had self-appointed themselves the TC or SoR representatives. I suppose that’s why I’m not worried about who thinks they represent us on the forums because no one does, everyone gets a say. TC rolls however it rolls. You can say we don’t form alliances all you want but the fact is that in the past we haven’t needed to. You even recalled that we actually -have- had alliances which demonstrates the capacity for another.

In this new match-up, our old tactics no longer work to keep us competitive. While we do have a lot of great veteran commanders, we haven’t had any lasting success since we moved into this tier because of factors we can’t control like the strong night attrition despite having experienced it before with CD. What we can control is the focus of our efforts.

Anyone who’s ever played a simple game of Risk understands that the worst course of action is for TC and SoR to continue fighting each other while BG is neglected and steamrolls everyone. This is an opportunity that screams for us to be tactical in our approach. It bears repeating that forming a temporary alliance because we’re outnumbered doesn’t make us weak, it makes us strategic, something which I generally felt distinguished us from opponents in the past.

Anyone who agrees should feel free to post support here to let others know that there are both TC and SoR people who intend not to fight each other, at least until the bigger threat is abated. Its just as simple as that and should continue if BG doesn’t move up or TC doesn’t move down. There’s no such thing as an official alliance… we get it… But every person can still vote with their actions and lead by example. I’ve chosen to ally or ignore SoR until BG is consistently pushed down. Rule of thumb is that SoR is not kill on site unless I’m seriously attacked or defending territory needed to bring the fight to BG.

If you think of the points in WvW as a race, then it does no good for #3 to shoot #2 in the legs. #3 will simply move to #2 and will never be #1. Now, if an alliance were formed and #1 could be brought down to an equal level as the others, then all 3 servers still have a shot at #1. The final days of the week would be a shootout for the top spot.

I can completely understand why BG would not want to face this, who would! But what reasons would those playing for points and the win from both SOR and TC have for NOT doing this?

There is more than just the points aspect.

Let’s say that on a BL, there are 20 SoR players, 20 TC players and 50 BG players on at one time. If SoR and TC are using 10 of their manpower to fight each other, then they can each only field 10 players against 25 BG players. This would most likely lead to BG rolling over the smaller group and taking full control of the map. This then makes most people frustrated and many will leave.

If however they were not to fight on that map, then SoR and TC would be fielding 20 players against those 25 making it a far more balanced fight. This would lead people to keep fighting seeing as how they wouldnt get rolled over so easily.

And so I prefer the idea of more balanced fights that keep everyone fighting than one-sided wipes at any given time.

As it stands right now BG is like the orcs in LoTR. There is just so many of them. TC and SoR won’t admit to needing each others help but fighting each other is the worst strategy at this time.

I think it was good to fight all three the first week or two because TC needed to test the water and doing so has shown us where the folly of our actions are. At this time when SoR and TC engage, it is taking pressure off of BG who is dominating.

There was a comment that SoR “Stands on its own not is not above or below anyone else.” If you reject the alliance, you are acting against this philosophy and implying that your better then TC. Back your philosophy up and act with precision.

SoR: If you stand on your own, simply do so while fighting the bigger of the two threats: BG. We will surely wait for the opportune time to stab each other in the back, but let us do it after toppling BG because absolutely no good will come from fighting each other until BG is in last place by a wide gap.

TC commanders, if you lead attacks on SoR, you are not helping your world. Good strategy is part of a commanders responsibility and attacking SoR is main reason why we are in last place. We know this from our battles with CD, FA, HoD, YB ect. We won because they could not use strategy. Fort Aspenwood commanders issued the statement “if its red its dead” before TC and CD wiped them from the map.

We need to show our strategy is as good as our skirmishing or we simply do not deserve to compete with a foe like BG.

TC and SoR: Take the fight to BG. Wipe them from the map. There is nothing dishonorable about taking up swords with your enemies enemy when you are demonstrably outnumbered. This is the point of WvW.

Lets start a new competition: Who can conquer the most BG territory?

It’s WvW. For me, the fun is in the battles, whether that be 1v1 or zerg vs zerg. The score is secondary.

It seems like alot of people from TC keep bringing up this whole ‘non-aggression’ ploy. Maybe he was just impressed i wreaked him.

Well, you left out the part where I:
-waved
-put on my town cloths
-didn’t engage
-sit emotioned
-got our trebs to stop firing on SM like you requested (See attached)

But yeah I guess you wreaked me. We can retest your claims in the heart of the mists if you wish but I’d like to take out BG first so we don’t have keep watching our backs.

So I was skirmishing with BG in eternal battlegrounds and several times I was actually assisted by some SoR. In return we fended off a bigger group of BG and parted ways. This really impressed me. I spoke with our commanders and the majority supported the SoR-TC alliance. Fellow Tarnished Coasters, we have tried our blitz tactics this last few weeks and it has completely failed to even keep us competitive by the end of the week. We outmatch our opponents when the worlds are at full queue but we just don’t have the numbers to carry us through the storm. TC commanders please look at the history and facts and support non-aggression with SoR. Its time to stop trying to squeeze water from a rock and be strategic.

I mean to beat this horse to death, because we’ve seen before what happens when TC ally or non-aggress with another world (See attached). TC commanders please order your people not to attack SoR on sight and focus our efforts on toppling BG. Defend our ground to the last asura half-standing but don’t push on SoR ground.

We’re playing a game of attrition so lets just narrow our focus on continuing to show BG the pressure of what 100 of their people vs 100 of other people really feels like. I don’t care if we come in last place. If we can mix things up and topple BG, it’ll will be worth it.

While fighting in WvW during a siege on inner dreaming bay I noticed that when I emerged from water that for more then a moment I could see enemies labels and movement through walls.
