Talk about RNG. I looted a Vial of Condensed Mists Essence on my 4th run.

I skinned my exotic armor with the lvl 65 winged skin.

Well, I ran fractals a whopping 3 times now. I really liked all the different settings and mechanics, but unless I’m willing to stand around in LA shouting for lfg endlessly, I can’t find groups for level 1 anymore already. 2 out of those 3 runs players joined who were higher in fractal rank and equally unwilling to let people learn the new things or wait it out longer than 2,5 fracs. Then I come here and read how many runs of this thing actually are needed, and that it’s still RNG…?
Well, no thank you. I’m not doing it. Because you just need to run this thing just so you can… run this thing. There’s no agony elsewhere, right? And I’m expected to stand around aimlessly in LA for it, shouting for a group (meaning two or three times, because you’re muted after that), and this when I still have to discover the entire world, there’s wvw and pvp and jumping puzzles…? Nope, not doing it.
I’ll wait until ascended stuff comes to me through a chance group, world loot or other means without this silly grind. In three years or so.

First, let me state that I love gw2. I’ll be playing it for a long time, and I play it slow.

I liked the Halloween event WAY more. I could only attend the first two parts of the Lost Shores event, and not the last one. I ran around the island, there’s nothing there besides hard hitting karka in a boring landscape. Or maybe I’m missing the obvious? And why can’t I get to the nearby maps which are so close? Not even a portal?

Anyway, the first two parts were about standing around in LA on an overflow server, until an endless stream of karka happened. It seems I missed out on important drops from the boss chest. I don’t know what exactly I missed, I haven’t checked out yet how to get legendary weapons but what I do understand from it is that those parts are way more money than I’ll ever make, and that something better happened that I don’t know how to get.

I did jump into the fractals and woa, that rocks (unlike the gaming insight of the average player, mind you, but I see that as an opportunity to train my zen attitude).

I also played some spvp (doomed to pug, I don’t know any casual tpvp guild on Seafarer’s Rest) and absolutely love the new map. It’s bewildering chaotic, perfect.
I can feel Shing Jea in it (GW1), does that mean a new expansion will go Canthan?

I see a lot of whining in these forums, but I must say: while some things could be perfectioned, this game is Awesome with a giant capital A.

I’m very much a pvp player normally, but now I’ve been hooked to the pve side and am constantly amazed on how much of detail went into this game, and I’m not just talking environment. There are tons of little stories in it; every second npc that you can talk to has something personal to say. And then there are all these little gems like the silly pygmee moa dance in Beetletun or the enthusiastic quaggan calfs following your every move at Sanguine Bay and many many more. What an incredible work and effort went into this. Really, really nice stuff! In this for years!

Yes, it’s a good event, or actually a series of events. Though my favorite is the toilet paper rolls, I think. Or maybe the kid in Lion’s Arch that can’t pronounce “Halloween” and yells “candy day!” instead.

Level 18, can’t even hit the king (0 damage) and he stood upon my waypoint, and the party was split up when entering. Because of different levels maybe?

I think it’s frustration talking there. I don’t agree with OP, and this coming from a fresh necro which apparently is a class with problems, and not quite popular for tpvp either (not in the power version anyway). For me personally though I think that when I lose a fight it’s because the other one was better. It’s almost never because the other has the easier class. I should have kited. I should have dodged. I should have interrupted. I should have been better prepared. Or I should have run instead of diving into a fight that I couldn’t win! But I’m convinced that I can learn that.

I’ve only just started playing and am a mere r10, but I plan to improve. Granted, that’s not easy in spvp (didn’t find a team yet) where it’s about running with the zerg (which I don’t like) and being lucky with your teammates.
But you can’t balance a game around the majority of players, like those in 8v8 spvp. People just want to farm glory there and that makes for a totally different playstyle. And to be honest, I don’t think anyone wants to remain in spvp forever. Don’t you want to go tpvp and have more fun and have things balanced there?

Umm… the question actually is: why not? I just want to try it. I’m not a manhater or such, in fact, I love men. They are cute and rude and adorable and sissies and bravehearts and the whole enchilada inbetween. I’ve been in pvp guilds where women were few. I don’t have any trauma from that.
And now I just want to try this. I have no hidden agenda. I’m just curious if it would work. I’m actually not that sure that it’d work. And yes, the name does poke fun at women and at gender-bias. Hey, if we can’t laugh at ourselves anymore, THAT’d be a sad day. And if women can’t laugh with it, then they shouldn’t apply. I only need 4 others, I’m not out for world dominance (we have that already).

Oh and by the way, my main IS a necro.

Hi all (or to be more precise, half of you),
I saw the TeamParadigm all female team recruitment. I’m not nearly good enough to even apply, but I love the idea.
Playing spvp will teach me some stuff, but it won’t get me to perform decently in a tpvp team ever. I just got my own account after playing on someone else’s account for a while, so I’m currently only r9. I don’t want to accept random guild invites, but it would be nice if there was a way to find people who are just starting out, who would love to get some tpvp done with a decent (and forgiving!) team, working to get better and who knows, start climbing those ladders when they finally happen. And then, why not with an all-female team?
So I started my own little spvp guild Hormonia [PMS]. I’m not tied to any server but it’s EU. Any homicidal women out there who feel like making a beginners tpvp team together? Just to see if we can pull something decent off?

Is there some skill animation library online somewhere? Where I can see every profession’s skill animation so I can learn which one does what better (to learn to interrupt/block/dodge more in time)?
