Although i’m looking into a Wireless option that has speeds around 1MB down. “If” they cover this area, which is a big “if”, i think they will put something on my roof of sorts…but i dunno if that will help seeing as i’m in the middle of a forest. I have terrible cell service as well and that’s how i’m accessing the internet so it’s quite spotty =(
Thanks a bunch! It really is! Sadly my area only offers dial-up and sattelite, which i won’t do =( Data plans are my only option!
I have limited data usage and just wondering how big the latest patch was in MB. Appreciate any help or whereabouts i could find this information for every patch! Thanks
I use limited data monthly for internets and i was wondering if anyone happened to pay attention to how many MB the most recent patch was?
Hello! So i’ve just recently got into playing GW2 and i was wondering how frequently these builds/patches force you to download them?
The only internet that’s available to me is Wireless Hotspot and paying for the data monthly. It’s about $50 for 5GB of data for the whole month if i don’t do any DLing and just playing. I used to play WoW and during patch times i would transfer it to my laptop…take it to the library and DL it then transfer it back every month or so that there’s an update.
The small patches here and there add up if i use my data to download them instead of making the trek to the library lol. So i was thinking do they have you download these small builds more frequently instead of giving you a decent size patch every 2 weeks/1 month? Or is this a rare occurrence and such.
Hello! I’m a strong believer that MMORPG’S are best played with another person or a group of friends, so i would love to play with you! Although i just started the game and don’t know too much about it, i think i’m a quick learner and like to play at the best of my ability. I don’t know if you’d be willing to start over another alt with me or what, but that would probably have to be the plan. I also live in the PST timezone and those times usually work out well for me!
I’m not sure if you’re a forum regular, so i might see if i can send you an in-game mail or something about this as well. Hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you everyone for your help! I was able to use the repair tool and log right in after it was finished! yay!
See you in-game!
Yah, it’s 20.1GB. I don’t understand why its having me downloading something on my pc…but when i run it on my laptop it doesn’t have to download anything.
So i pay for my data at home, and i decided to download the game on my laptop at the library then take it home and transfer it to my PC via EHD. My laptop doesn’t have good specs so it couldn’t play it but it said it was ready to play i thought. It seemed to be all patched up so i took it home and put it on my PC, start the game client and it brings up a small window that said it was Downloading _____KB and ___KB per second. I figured it may be just a small update so i let it go 30MB but still didn’t work. I didn’t want to use all my data up on a download so i cancelled it.
Anyone have any problems like this? Or are there any other file locations that i missed other than Program Files x86: Guild Wars 2? I’ll probably end up taking it back to the library and see if i missed any patches but i was hoping to see if anyone had a solution before i did so. Appreciate any feedback!
Edit:
So i hooked my laptop up to my internet at home and decided to try and load it. It goes to that little patch screen but skips the downloading and initializes into the launcher where you can sign-in and press “play”.
It seems like i’m missing files here, the game client doesn’t try and download when i put the disc in, it just goes straight to patching. Are the patch files located separate from the Guild Wars 2 folder?
For example, WoW has a separate file/program for its launcher titled as Battle.net in a diff location than the actual WoW folder. Am i missing a launcher file possibly?
