They won’t do anything.

I accidentally left my own guild and I couldn’t get back in it; they didn’t do anything.

Worst support in MMORPG history, easily.

Why are game companies secretive?

Electroflux.5320

Why are game companies, specifically MMORPG games so reluctant to give out information and plans for the future?

I think that everyone would be better off knowing what’s expected to come or even possible ideas for the games future.

We can all agree that this game doesn’t really have much hardcore diversity or reasonable longevity. Since ArenaNet has gave us like any information about the upcoming content, most players would rather quit.

Lets say they planned on adding raids or something, at least we’d know what to strive for and keep us playing so we were prepared for when that patch did come out.

I hardly want to play this game now because I know there really isn’t anything for hardcore gamers but if I’d know what is coming, maybe I’d play more.

This game is unbelievable...

The OP is so blinded, really.

Like Robbyx said, this has to be your first MMO because this game is extremely lack-luster and hardly innovative. I’ve played so many MMORPGs that I’m too lazy to even list them here, let alone think about all of them I’ve played and this game is one of the worst.

I’d rather quest in WoW then run around and do stupid events all the way to max in this game, only to be slapped in the face with no content at 80 and more senseless grinding.

It’s not so much as the grind itself is what kills the fun-factor of the game, it’s how it’s presented. Questing in WoW is very generic, but you have bgs and dungeons with reasonable queue times to do while you’re questing so there’s a lot more interactive content then Guild Wars 2. There is literally nothing fun to do while leveling in Guild Wars 2, especially, like I said, when you know there is nothing there in the end for you that changes.

This game is really bad, really really bad.

yes, this game is seriously boring, everyone knows it and agrees, hence why a huge chunk of the players left or just never come online. there is absolutely no lasting content in this game. it’s actually kind of sad they even call it an MMORPG because it clearly isn’t.

they better come out with some good content patch or this game is toast. no, stupid mini-games or more stupid events are not going to save the game.

Weapon with shields?

What weapons are people using for solo leveling with a shield?

I plan on being like a “tank” build later for dungeons and whatever and I’m also what weapon would be good for that type of gameplay (probably mace?).

Also, is leveling with a shield even worth the time or should I just go greatsword like everyone else? I just think having a shield makes my character look better.

First of all, it’s “what’s” or “what is.”

This might shock you, but wierd is spelled “weird.” You know that squiggly red line below the obviously incorrectly spelled word? Yeah, that’s what it is, incorrectly spelled.

Now that we have that out of the way…

You’re nuts.

One serious issue with this game

Guilds.

From what I’ve seen and the guild I’ve created, there is absolutely no logical point in having a guild in this game. Besides not having anything guild oriented, for whatever reason, like a calendar, there is other issues.

1. Representing is absurd. I had plenty of players join my guild and 75% of the people online were likely representing another guild. Now, I let everyone know that I am completely fine with them joining other guilds, however, it is extremely frustrating when you have absolutely no control over it and there’s nothing you can really offer a person that you guild is better, unless it’s PvP oriented.

2. What’s the point in making a guild that only does PvE? The only thing that you would really need a group for is dungeons and late game events…but really even then you don’t necessarily NEED to sit around and wait for guildies to come help you out. The hardest part is organizing a coherent group of people to even do dungeons, that is if they are even high enough level to care.

3. No actual guild content. I have yet to have played an MMORPG, and I’ve played many, where the guild functionality is so limited. Without raids and other things that guilds really tend to bring people together for in other games, what exactly is the point?

The only point I can see in creating a guild is if you’re strictly WvWvW or sPvP to make a “point” in how epic you guild is portrayed, however, even then, I think that’s a huge waste of time.

I just need to see more. Like I said, without game content that other MMORPGs have, I just can’t SEE the point of a guild. (it’s sadly even more dumbed down than GW1 and they were superb in that game).

That brings me to my next question: What weapons should I be using for leveling (solo typically)? I tried staff but it didn’t really have any solid attacks. It was more like ape debuff kinda things. I don’t really enjoy axe that much.

I’m making a Necro now mainly because they have the coolest gear but with the severe doom and gloom going on about them, I’m worried that it will be a huge waste of time. It takes a lot of devotion in this game to stick to your main character so is Necro worth it, honestly?

Okay, I can change it up.

I don’t want to join a guild because this is the only MMORPG in which I think that I might actually be able to create a guild without it being shunned by a million others (EX: WoW or other long-term released MMO’s).

How do I get to that point if nobody is interested in joining in the first place? I can only fit so much in the advertisement. Here’s what I have so far:

<Fates Legion> is recruiting exceptional players to join it’s ranks. We are a new guild looking to expand in all aspects of the game. Loyalty and honor is within our name. PST if you’re interested

… even then, nobody is interested.

Plain and simple, I have no idea how to make a promising guild.

I’m the only member right now because nobody wants to join when I advertise in chat.
I need some serious pointers because I can’t get a single person to join even though there’s like TONS of people in the zone reading it. I’ve even whispered people.

PvP is supposed to be the end-game, but the removal of a lot of complex elements really killed the longevity of it.

I agree with everything you said.

The PvP in this game isn’t that fun, like … at all. Seriously, if I wanted to play a game where I jumped into a game, killed people and left, just for fun, then I certainly wouldn’t be playing an MMO to do it.

The point of PvE and PvP in MMO is the progression. It feels more satisfactory to know that you could possibly have a chance at gearing your character to have that slight advantage against people who don’t. I know a lot of people hate this because they always say “blah blah, i don’t have the time to gear to be competitive in PvP” but who cares. If you don’t have the time to gear your character in an MMORPG then you certainly should not be playing an MMORPG as it requires nothing BUT time.

The fact is, there is no sense to casual bg in this game, like I said, it’s not even that exciting. We need something to strive for, something to make you feel good that you completed this goal that maybe a lot of other people haven’t.

.
Judging from other people I know and have spoken to that share you views, you might suffer from insecurity issues. You will probably deny this. But there’s not many reasons why you find the idea of having better gear than somebody else so important; you like to have better gear than people in the game because, most likely, your real life is severely lacking and devoid of any noteworthy achievements.

I’d be a little more concerned about yourself if you’re going to go that far into making a ridiculous assumption based off a tiny paragraph I posted, lol.

I can recommend you help, however.

figured. considering every new zone I went to I was doing the same exact thing over and over on repeat. I enjoyed GW1 but that was like 8 years ago… i hate to say it but with no progression, MMORPGs are a complete waste of time and it’s part of the reason why I can’t bring myself to level past 25 on my Warrior unless i knew that all my ridiculously hard work to 80 was worth something other then what I’ve already been doing a million times already

Coming from WoW, what is the actual endgame in this game? From what I’ve played so far, it’s basically heart hopping and doing repetitive typical boring events.

What is there to actually strive for? I mean, you pretty much get everything handed to you at the beginning of the game and PvP has absolutely no point in progression.
