Rise ele base hp?

Please do NOT buff Ele HP, armor, or autoattacks. Doing that necessitates weaker cooldown powers, and I would prefer those be buffed instead. Please NERF ele HP, armor, or autoattacks as needed to balance for buffed cooldown powers and reduced cooldowns.

I never play structured pvp, tournaments, or any other highly visible mode of any game I care about, because it causes whatever character I’m using to get nerfed. I prefer to go about my business incognito and enjoy the character abilities. Advertising your successes is a very poor strategy for receiving pleasing future patches.

I think WvW is fairly incognito; even solo roaming, you can probably pwn people fairly regularly without often encountering and angering a dev.

You guys are asking for things that you don’t really want. Let’s pretend that they did for some reason give elementalists 5000 HP, 400 armor, and 20% autoattack damage next patch. It would either come with huge nerfs to other powers, or those nerfs would follow shortly in the next patch. That’s how balance works.

If you really wanted high HP, armor, and autoattacks, you would be playing a warrior, because that’s what warriors do, and it isn’t what elementalists do, never has been, never should be (maybe in beta, all op damage, but not since release).

The lower the HP pool, the lower the armor, the worse the autoattacks, the better the cooldown powers can be. That’s balance, and the active power end of the balance spectrum is the end I want on the ele; not the HP and autoattack end.

golems are fought with pvp gear. Waaaaaaaay weaker than ascended gear plus foods plus wvw stacks and weapons bloodlust stacks and maybe even borderland bloodlust buff. Going to WvW, you get twice as powerful; the elemental does not.

Please do not improve autoattacks. Improve cooldown powers, and weaken autoattacks even further to compensate if needed.

It’s true the elemental can do significant damage compared to you if you’re tanky built. Its entire lifespan is still worth only one or two of your attacks if you’re largely berserker, and it’s only to one target. I’m almost full celestial, and a single arcane wave against 5 men will eeeeasily outdamage that elemental’s efforts for its entire duration.

I do NOT want base HP buffs, autoattack buffs, or other passive play class buffs, because they will require nerfs in other areas to balance. I would much prefer base HP, etc. to be reduced even farther, as long as other skills are buffed to keep the class playable.

Do you expect them to just give you free HP while keeping all other skills equal? No, other abilities can be more powerful when base HP, armor, etc. is low.

Please be careful what you wish for folks, because if you actually get what you want, you may not like it as much as you think.

I fear it. Balance changes put in to appease whiners are usually buffs to autoattackers/facerollers while nerfing cooldowns and ability combos that require skill.

Please take into consideration my vote to nerf autoattacks while reducing cooldowns and buffing cooldown powers.

The elemental doesn’t scale at all. It is super overpowered while leveling up and super useless in the endgame with max gear. Its entire lifespan in the endgame is worth only one or two berserker hits from your character even if it gets to stand and attack the whole time. In PvE it can tank, and it does sometimes get to use a utility power or two, but in WvW it’s barely worth the cast time; very likely it will spend all its time walking around slowly, get a 500 damage attack or two off, and die.

So much doom and gloom. I came back to this game in the summer and every patch I’ve seen since then, including the patch that brought me back, has been more buffs than nerfs for the ele.

Really, I love the constant wall of tears on this forum most of the time because it helps shield me from nerfs… but when they buff us by giving a power range without any added drawback and then you guys cry to have it nerfed back, I gotta protest. Spell is still instant cast; please learn to mouse target faster rather than trying to take away my new candy.

Gust and lightning surge yes. Others no. I actually would rather have them nerf the autoattacks as much as possible, and eventual balancing would cause them to buff cooldown powers.

I would quit if they took away elementalist’s ability to be more effective by playing “ADD style”. They have done very well with making some classes playable in relaxed mode and some require effort.

The loot (and WXP etc) grind is too long now to max out multiple characters without ridiculous time expenditures, so people trying to max a character are locked in. Since you are a very short distance down that farming path, you can easily switch. Choose a class that fits your style, and do it now, because you can’t really change later. Then once you are locked in, you can legitimately complain about all the balance changes that you can’t do anything about.

Balance is MUCH different in WvW and PvP. You get more than twice the stat points with ascended PvE gear, food, guard leech, etc. etc.

I have found few things in life less useful than reporting guild wars bugs. A significant portion of the bugs I reported on day 1 still exist a year later. There are a few that have been fixed in recent patches, but I doubt my reporting them a year ago (and a few times since) had any effect on that.

The idea of the new capture points is great. If they were worth the same score as a tower capture, but with no walls or static defenses, they would inspire some epic fights.

However, the bloodlust buff they give is going to do a lot of harm to WvW. Now, when Bob logs in to <disadvantaged server> to WvW, he has a good chance to not only be outnumbered and out-organized, but now also power-balanced as if the enemies had an extra tier of gear! Advantaged servers will have a much greater chance to get these buffs, and trying to take them back against enemies with +50-150 to all stats over you is bound to be unpleasant.

Meanwhile, Joe who logs onto <advantaged server> finds his enemies not only few and desperate but also squishy and low damage. What was already a roflstomp becomes even more lol.

If you want to make WvW more of a fight, give a TINY buff to servers with lower WvW score. If Joe logs on to find himself outnumbered and out-organized but with +10 to all stats tenacious fighter buff for being way behind in score, that has a much more positive effect.

I must agree about the snowballing. At the end of the day, the server that is already the strongest will take the buff most or all of the time.

Also, it’s a huge buff; each stack makes every member of the realm about 8% more powerful, which is large enough to swing a 1v1 between two people of equal build and skill almost every time.

This bug should be super easy to fix. Allocate 5 minutes for your stat guy to change the second bonus to boon duration please. This bug is preventing me from completing my support build.

Yes, I gave up on it ever getting fixed and bought runes of Divinity like everyone else mere months after the game’s release, but I still have this faint hope each patch. Fix please; second bonus should be boon duration.

When I change out of earth, the bonus armor from earth attunement immediately goes away on the hero panel. Likely that other bonuses go away as well.

Elementalist is my only level 80 and the damage seems fine usually because I have nothing to compare it with. However, recently I did some testing, and the staff ele really does do poor damage compared to other classes.

I saw a videos of warrior/guardian and warrior/necro duoing AC so I went in and tried to solo it just to see. I could beat the big spider, could beat the big pack of gravelings in the hall only by splitting them up and having some de-agro so that I could fight only a couple at a time. Could beat kohler with great patience and care. Got to the burrows and of course by the time I finished the first burrow, the second had spawned a huge pile of guys on my npc.

I could see it wasn’t going to happen, so I bought full power/precision/crit dmg gear and tried again, but was completely underwhelmed by the damage; I was no closer to beating the burrows. The warriors in the previously mentioned vids did twice my dps. Not saying they could have soloed the burrows; just saying they had twice my berzerker gear dps; I stowed that gear in my bank.

Went to pvp battlegrounds with my baby warrior and elementalist to test and the warrior could beat chieftain utahein in 22 seconds with my warrior. I think my ele took about 40 seconds with both elementals up. And I suck really bad with the warrior as I’ve only played it to level 10. I’m super good with the ele: I can solo the group of 5 ghosty NPCs in the training ground, on their spawn point without pulling them; killing the adds as they respawn on me, until I very very slowly finish the lord.

Bottom line: ele good utility, bad damage. Bad damage, regardless of loot, traits, or might stacks, compared to a warrior or rogue.
