I stumbled upon the demo somewhat by accident, by logging in and noticing the PoF background and the demo slots. So I agree that an ingame notification system might be wise for rather short and under-the-radar events like these.
So is everyone having this? And there is nothing we can do about it? I went through different ingame graphics settings but it wouldn’t help. Because I just arrived in Ember Bay for the first time and I can already tell that this lens flare is gonna annoy me a lot.
When I try to login and submit a ticket on the GW2 website I get redirected to the support knowledgebase and apparently logged out again. Anyone else having this? I can’t support a ticket if loggin in to their website wont work.
I have two masteries ready to master, one requires 6 mastery points and the other two. I have two mastery points. I don’t want to master the one that requires 2 points to master, but I keep getting the message “Your current ability is fully trained and ready to master” every couple seconds. I cannot select any other mastery train (Pact Commander is finished, these two mastery areas from Central Tyria are the only ones left).
I already set content guide to “off”, but these reminders are still showing. They annoy me a great deal. Any ideas how to get rid of them other than spending my two available mastery points in mastering a mastery I don’t want to master just yet?
Don’t know about that sleep thing, gonna try it. If you mean hiding the character behind the camera – well that’s what I’ve always been trying at one point or another in the third-person games I play. But it can be a pain in a certain body part to do : – /
Games to be shut down is something that can always happen. Technology can always fail. Servers can always fail. Your ISP can fail. Devs and publishers can always go bankrupt. What matters is what you do along the way, the things you enjoy, the friends you may find. I wouldn’t want to struggle too much with virtual belongings but appreciate the path I walk. You can feel attached to the world that is created and may miss it regardless, but in the end it will always be just pixels and polygons so perhaps you gotta give a little more room to pragmatism.
I play Guild Wars 2 via Steam. You can upload screenshots to Steam which become visible on the activity feeds of the people on my friends list.
It’s hard to get good shots with my avatar in the middle of the screen. I don’t necessarily want my Steam friends to see how he looks like. He feels a bit misplaced when it comes to panoramic shots especially. I know there are the vistas but they give me hardly any freedom and rarely capture the stuff that I had wanted to get into view.
From a quick Google search it seems to me that a first-person view had been considered and dismissed by the devs. However probably for other reasons. I don’t need to fight or do anything gameplay relevant from first-person. Third-person is fine to play with. To me it’s really just about being able to take good screenshots. The view I wish for could be forcefully switched back into third-person when any action – moving, attack, jumping or whatever – is executed.
Takings shots this way would be one way for me to capture or “recycle” feelings and impressions that I like better. And – perhaps more relevant to the devs – this may enable me to advertise this game indirectly to the people on my friends list. Because I don’t like uploading most of the third-person screenshots I have taken thus far.
You can already hide the interface. I can’t imagine why you would be able to do that for any other reason but to take screenshots, so some people from ArenaNet must know my feelings. Give me a locked/limited first-person too and I would love you. : – )
