I remember reading how he was doing the Jungle Wurm with BG and was trolling in chat while waiting for it to spawn. Unbeknownst to the people on TS that he was actively listening, they were openly discussing hacks or other tricks on repeatedly spamming map joining

If your email got hacked and they got to your account, what is stopping them from hacking into your bank?

There most certainly would be a way reset a bank password, and they would hack their way past that too.

It’s perfectly legal to multibox, but the software available out there that allows this may do something to the game that is illegal and bounds for a ban.
The closest thing you can do is set up a virtual box and run the client there, but it’s not exactly efficient.

GW2 is heavily CPU reliant and unless you somehow have a 6.0 ghz CPU it’s going to be a terrible experience.

I have read here and there that you can run it on Surface Pro – just gotta make sure you have low settings and be especially careful near zergs.

BG as a victim from 2v1 doesn’t make me feel bad in the slightest. They deserve it.

They thought that they could win tournies easily by stacking coverage and buying/renting guilds.

They certainly did not expect JQ/TC to team up.

And now they cannot envision any solution for this. Stacking more guilds in off-peak times won’t work. Renting/buying guilds won’t work anymore.

The only thing that Bg can do is sabotage JQ/TC by supplanting WvW spy/sabotage guilds, taking up the queues and wasting siege. But we all know BG won’t scoop down to those dirty tricks…right?

BG as a server is dead. As long as they remain in T1, they are never going to see higher than 3rd place in a match-up of the Top 3 servers (barring a TC vs JQ drama)

It’s going to crash hard like SoR. All the serious WvW guilds there can no longer operate and play for fun since they’ll lose every single battle. All the PvE’ers leeching will no longer like the 3rd-place rewards.

BG is truly doomed, and it’s all because of themselves. Good riddance.

I really don’t see this as that much different than what we already had. There’s really no difference in whether Teq spawns once every 8 hours, or once every other hour, the same with the Wurm. As for the other bosses, they were already on timers. And we had websites and apps to track those timers.

Nothing dynamic about that.

The difference is that you could guest to other servers and do a boss if it wasn’t up, allowing you to do a boss multiple times, especially if you don’t have a lot of time to play.

Now we have to wait 2 hours at a minimum.

Best way to discourage this at Shatterer is to introduce mechanics similar to Fire Ele.

If you stay still at Fire Ele, chances are you are going to get downed at least twice.

Take this as an example as to what this change is going to do for me:

Every weekday I have only 4 hours to play – 7 pm to 11pm since I have a full-time job, as many other people here do.

At this rate, I will be unable to do all metaevents like I can currently do them now. I now will have to give up the opportunity to do certain world bosses if I decide to do any other activity, such as WvW, dungeons, sPvP, crafting or gathering.

I’m also unable to do certain hard world bosses, such as teq and wurm since they are on a much longer cooldown. Yes, I will be able to do them on-demand with the new guild ‘missions’ features, but that also interferes with my ability to do other world bosses.

Not to mention it messes up TTS/Attuned coordination.

Please, Anet. Reconsider. Put a stop to this and rethink this through before releasing.

My biggest gripe about this whole ordeal is that these events are SCHEDULED.

Since release, metaevents were NEVER an issue and many people on many servers did them.

This is a huge 180 degree shift and any positives from the megaserver feature are far outweighed by the negatives.

I come home at 7:00 pm and I stop playing at 11:00, as most people with full-time jobs do.

Now I’ll have to take great consideration into what I do with my time. I have to make sure that if I want to do fractals to make sure it’s a quick run if I want to do certain metaevents.

And if I want to do jungle wurm now, I will have to wait until the weekend, or somehow coordinate with TTS starting the event, despite the whole guild essentially being dozens of smaller guilds.

This is a terrible update and Anet needs to postpone it ASAP.

I’ll elaborate. You have more than 1000 pages of General Discussion where a feature has been mentioned or a suggestion for something to be fixed (which isn’t already in the bugs forum) on at least half of those pages. You could spent months sifting through those pages and ‘features’ which were supposed to be in the works, but it looks like whatever we’re getting is what they think will get us back into actually playing the game.

I suppose the warddrobe feature is pretty minor…

So what’s stopping spies from doing that now? Just guest to the enemy server and eavesdrop.

No matter how much we complain, Anet has already went full steam ahead with this. There is no way they can change this and remove the scheduled metaevents. Very, very disappointed with this move.

Lankybrit returned to the game after a year hiatus, I doubt he knows what he is talking about since he didn’t even play the game for a long time.

Too much work to design such a feature.

Bifrost is getting fixed because the item involved here is getting a technical change.

Doubloons never got a technical change. It’s priced that way because of it’s high demand/low supply.

Maybe when Arenanet decides to make changes to the usage of Doubloons would you see them step in.

Hate it. And here’s why: I’m part of Attuned, a guild focused on fighting those “Hardcore” mega bosses. While it’s nice we can start the boss whenever we want, it’s terrible that we can no longer commandeer a map for ourselves.

Let me explain. Fights like the Triple Headed Jungle Wurm require coordination by 120~160 people with at least 110 of which in the same teamspeak. To accomplish this, my guild has been guesting to empty servers or forcing an overflow for private use. This ensures that we have only people who we know we can count on in the map and furthermore ensures we can actually accomplish killing the Wurm on a regular basis.

With the changes to the current system, it sounds like there will be no such thing as overflows, and no such thing as “empty maps” to guest to. In this case, it seems impossible to purge our runs of PUGs who are either geared incorrectly or unable/unwilling to follow commander instruction. Thus, this system makes future endeavors at killing the wurm (or any future, more-difficult boss) futile and impossible. Our guild is very dismayed over the fact that there has been no considerations for this situation and are skeptical that when this patch hits we’ll be able to kill wurm at all anymore due to the excessive amount of incompetent PUGs that will always be inside our (now merged) Bloodtide Coast.

While reading this i’d like to puke all over you. People like you are the worst thing which could ever happen to a game!

If you don’t want to put in the effort, then you don’t deserve the rewards.

Actually, they are taking the schedule away and giving control to us – through the guild event system.

Im hoping this is just the beginning for this kind of system. I LOVE this idea.

That option is only for the harder bosses.

Before this change I’ll be able to do 3 fire elemental bosses within an hour.

After, I’ll have to wait.

I never said that the project exists. I’m talking about hypotheticals.

I agree that the Queensdale champ train should be destroyed (or at least, moved to something else than a starter zone like Snowden Drifts).

However, I disagree that higher lvl loot should not be included.

This would mean that lvl 80’s, which make up the bulk of the population, would only stay in lvl 80 zones. There would be zero incentive to visit the earlier maps.

Imagine if they came out with an unlimited banker golem…

I’m excited for GW2’s prospects for China, but I sure hope that this game doesn’t go in a direction because of Kongzhong’s demands.

Even though NA/EU have been with this game for over a year, China can be a major player in the direction of the game due to the playerbase side.

Most of them probably don’t have that many characters to gear.
It’s not that they’re hoarding them but that they don’t have any use for them.

Exactly. I have over 200 and that’s after gearing 7 alts and buying the cat tonic since I had nothing to spend them on.

Why not get the crafting bags and sell the T6 mats? They are at a high price right now.

Same thing with the dyes but last week. Dyes were for a time 1 gold a piece. You could have sold 5 laurels for 10g.

Some nodes are fixed across all servers.

Some nodes aren’t.

There would be so many restrictions to such a feature that the end result would be an undesirable experience.

Unfortunately the positives outweight the negatives with this patch. A lot more people want to play and see others than those who wish to play alone.

I’m not a supporter of this. It ruins the immersion of gameplay, especially for others.

The only way I wouldn’t mind this outside of Apr. 1 is through the Box o Fun.

If I see Shatterer is up on BG, and I end up porting there, will I automatically be sent to a fresh, brand new map/server where Shatterer isn’t up, and I will have to go through another loading screen to go on BG?

I have to agree with Zudet.

First, the wiki can be unrealiable and there is no official link in the source from a dev stated that server capacity is based on active users and not accounts.

Second, I have seen several times on the T1 servers during primetime where they went from Full to Very High.

Scores show you’re 3rd best.

Well T1 servers are out of the question because it is difficult to get in, let alone participate in WvW at times due to the queues. Your best bet is to join the T2 servers.

Depends – what do you want to play in GW2? SPvP? Pve? WvW? All?

So are you going to quit the game because of this?

They aren’t necessarily the best.

Just cause there are lots of people on the server doesn’t mean you’ll actually get to play them.

GW2 has an overflow system where if a map gets filled, players get funneled into an open server. So it’s unlikely you’d be able to play with BG players even if you are registered on BG.

Where are you getting these 61% chance? It clearly says on the kit that you have a 50% chance at recovering rare materials.
