so far, 4 world bosses without a crash so you guys should really take a look at your drivers, I was just victim of the crashings only a couple hours ago, and after some troubleshooting, I solved the problem on my end. It Was A Specific Version Of The Graphics Driver, Which Is Solved And Stable In The Newest Driver … so maybe we should give Anet a break and maybe it might be something we haven’t thought of, on our own systems? Just saying.
Edit: saved your butts Anet, you owe me one
just kidding.

also, with the latest nVidia cards, this crash was happening on GeForce Game Ready Driver version 350
Updating the graphics driver to version 361.43 (latest) seemed to solve the problem (as far as I can tell) no crashes on highest settings so far… If you use NVIDIA GeForce Experience or even the downloaded installer from the website, please note: my driver installation would fail while I had COMODO firewall running so please disable things like that, such as anti-virus, firewall, etc. unplug your internet if you’re worried, and it should install correctly. Hope this helps some of you, good luck!
did some experimenting with settings, the most important setting is Character Model Limit set it to low or lowest if you want to ensure that you don’t crash during high population situations, such as world bosses…
Character Model Limit: Low (this will cull or make excess players invisible)
Character Model Quality: Medium (this will make the few visible players have some slight detail, so it’s not completely ugly)
these worked without a crash during a world boss.
the least you could do is, once a player is on a certain map (even if it’s “full”) re-connect them to that same map “lock-in” their position, because it ruins the entire game to spend hours participating in “fun” events, just to have it stolen away at the last minute, only to be dumped into some “overflow” map, which you have no hope of winning with the few other unfortunate players who also crashed from the only map that has a chance of defeating these bosses (since they’re balanced to require a high number of players to win) … I can understand if you can’t figure out why it’s crashing, it’s probably pretty complex, but a workaround like allowing people to come back to the same map they were just playing on… that would help it not be a complete failure. Just saying -_- … If this problem isn’t resolved soon, I’m sure the frustration of all of your players will soon cause them to quit the game, thus no more gem purchases, thus no more word-of-mouth recommendations, thus the game dies… so please hurry ArenaNet, hurry like your life of your game depends on it, because it does.
guys, I know you’re proud that you actually know the 32-bit memory limit, but this happens on the 64-bit client too… so what’s the memory limit there? and this still happens to this date of this post.
