The problem is that now, unless you can clear the place, you can’t get any tokens at all. With the gigantucus representing a massive barrier to most pugs, it is -very- hard to get the set from that place.
A bit of a rant here. So sorry…
This seems fairly stupid, to me.
As many know, until the recent patch, there were possible exploits in both Arah and Citadel of Flame exploration modes which made it possible for players to rapidly and easily farm tokens.
I personally was very tempted to use the arah exploration exploit, because I -really- want the set from Arah. I just love how it looks. However, I didn’t- because exploiting is supposedly wrong, ect, and something that people are punished for.
Thing is, though… Now that the exploit is fixed, and the new way of getting tokens is in, it is harder than before for me to get the arah peices I wanted. If I want to have any chance at all, I need to manage to get the giganticus down. At least beforehand I was able to get 8 or so per run before hitting him by doing things without exploiting, although it took a fair while. Now? I can’t get crap because every single group hits that guy and can’t do any further.
On the other side of things, players who abused that exploit constantly and consequently were able to gain large numbers of zhaitan shards have not been punished at all. They got the reward for abusing this exploit, but no punishment afterwards- which really, seems to encourage exploitation… If you don’t join in with the exploiting, you miss out.
This seems fairly counter to the developer’s statements on the matter. They have said that people who exploit -should- be punished. But as stuff stands, it is the poeple who don’t who are at a disadvantage.
This rant inspired by the guy in my current Arah exploration group in the full set boasting about “how hard I exploited that S___”
This bug is all over the place on my server, too. The /vast/ majority of Arah exploration groups going require that you are willing to do this if you want to join. So far, I’ve only been able to get guild groups if I want to avoid exploiting this thing.
It has been reported multiple times, by multiple people, though- so I hope it is changed.
However, I don’t have much hope that the people who have been abusing it and showing others how to do so will get any sort of punishment. It is hugely widespread.
I would assume the reason you found it to be so easy is because those groups were doing things that are KNOWN as -very- easy pathways in explorable.
Try arah, super weapon CoF, and some of the others before declaring things to be too simple.
I’ve seen a ‘new’ exploit in Explorable Arah on the first (Ancients?) path. More or less, it is possible to skip all trash between the first and second boss fights by climbing a wall. This allows decent groups to get 8 tokens within 10 mins at most.
I saw it happen once in a group, and after dropping, I reported it in game. At the time, I thought it wasn’t very widespread. However, since then, members in every single Arah exploration group I have wanted to join have declared that they will be doing this, several of whom have been explaining to the others how to do so (I’ve dropped from all these groups).
Anyway. Is there an ETA on this getting fixed? I would quite like to be able to run this place without needing to recruit a group specifically by advertising that we -don’t- want to exploit and risk bans.
In the room with the chains you pull to open the doorway to the first boss (the guy who summons devourers), the chains are not selectable / usable once the mobs in that room are killed. As a consequence, the event series to get to that boss stalls at that point, and the run cannot be completed.
Had issues with getting into CoF exploration mode on Tarnished Coast, a few times over last two days.
On two occasions, had one person start group. Clicking enter on the popup did nothing. Noticed that if we dropped group and reformed, with everyone outside the instance, the join screen would flicker up for a split-second after dropping, and would reaper after reforming. In both cases, clicking would not get us in. People who had completed story mode were also unable to zone in by walking into the portal and selecting exploration.
However, was able to complete HoTW exploration and attempt Arah exploration with same group.
So. Having hit 80, and having quite a lot of karma saved up (~87k), I was looking forwards to getting myself some decent gear going. I had already heard the 80 karma exotics cost 42k per, which was fine with me.
However – I just saw the stats, and thanks to the number of players going about and having all of the god-temple areas clear, I was able to compare the different sets from each, and I can’t help but wonder…
Are they supposed to all be nigh-identical, aside from the runes? I mean… Most of the items in each set are the same in terms of stats, and… Well, the stats aren’t all that good for most builds / roles, either.
I had assumed that since there seem to be 6 god-temples (well, 5 plus the gates to arah), and there are 6 general item build types (Berserker, Carrion, Knight, ect), that each temple would have gear with stats matching one of those stat-setups.
Does anyone know if this is supposed to be the case? Are they supposed to be different stats on each set, or is it intended for them to all be the same?
If it is supposed to be this way… What use is there for them? Should I just buy what I can and throw them into the mystic forge or something?
