From E-mail to Mobile Authentication

Wulfheart, the fact is, if they have access to the e-mail account — if for example you use the same password for e-mail and game — sending a verification “Do you want to add this mobile authenticator” e-mail wouldn’t help.

However, I do understand the question, so I’ll discuss it with the team to learn if there’s benefit to adding that process to the change. I’ve asked before and basically I’ve been told that sending the e-mail isn’t necessary nor preventative of most hacks. But I’ll ask again.

My suggestion for this issue is this. Account manager will never send e-mail to the customer. E-mail is worst solution for verification. E-mail have same security as postcard have. When it goes thru all operators everybody who can Access those operators databases, can read your e-mail too.

If you really want to secure customer Account manager, and same time provide good custom security, there should be another type of verification in Account manager.

This is my suggestion:
Customer can add in their Account manager page pin-code. When ever there will be done some changes, like password change, e-mail change or mobile authenticator, there will open a panel, where customer need to click with their mouse that pin-code what they have add in the Account manager. Pin-code should be 5 – 8 digit long, and it should not allow more than 3 same digit in the pin-code. Also this pin-code should be added to the game, when player is pressing play button. In this way they have to manually click numbers and not typed in there. So even keyloggers are not a threat anymore. This is only secure way to prevent hacking account and changing passwords without external programs, like e-mail client, mobile phones etc.

Obviously they want to make sure as much of it works as possible, knowing that when they release it into the wild two dozen people will still manage to break something in a way they never anticipated anyway.

What you write is no excuse/reason for not announcing a patch time.

I work in a company were we have to update large production servers from time to time. Of course we have to test it deeply before every patch goes live and of course we have to announce to our customers the exact date, time and estimated “down-time” of every patch a few days in advance.

There is slight difference with this game and company’s production server updates. Of course, your Company is telling another Company exact date, time and estimate “down-time” of every patch a few days in advance. They are making money for that program, or it is helping them to make money.

This game is something for amusement, not for making money for living in rl. So Anet don’t need to tell anything when that update will come. It does not affect anybody elses business.

I am not sure, but somehow it looks like that giant Clockwork “woman” is in

a) fractails
b) dungeon
c) Place like Queen’s Gauntlet was.

There was too little players on those plates where she stepped and there were quite few players around of those other clockworks too. (I think there were 5 players on that plate). I didn’t see same zerg around those clockworks as there were with that wurm. There might be NPC’s in there with those players fighting with those clockworks.

I notice that there were 5 plates and 5 chains on that clockwork woman. Or is it just a coincidence? But somehow it feels like those plates are somehow same kind of like Queen’s Gauntlet had.

That wurm is in open world. There was more players around of it.

Well, this is only a grazy idea what I got when I watch that video.

My top 1 woud be this:

Specific Race Titles

- These titles are obtained / unlocked only by playing a specific race.
- When the title becomes available, it will be use-able by all characters in the account no matter what race they are
- There should be 1 Major title for each race
- Example of titles:

- Asura: Lab Genius
– Sylvari: Champion of Pale Tree
– Charr: High Tribune
– Human: Commander of Seraph
– Norn: Hero of Hoelbrack

- Each major title will have 10 tiers, each having its own name (mini titles) which can be displayed only by the respective race once it is unlocked (remember the title tiers in GW1: Kind of a Big Deal, I am very Important, etc.)
- Earning tiers will involve doing various activities in the game like Personal Story, Jumping Puzzles, Crafting, etc. done with the specific race
- Example: Finish all JPs with a Charr, Finish the personal Story with a Charr character, Buy all cultural armors for a charr etc.
- These tiers can be cumulated with the achievements we already have as if you see above, finishing the story or JPs have already their achievements but they are account related not race related.
- So these “new” tiers will make these achievement more specific.

In this way there is not any auxiliary system added to the game but it will build upon the ones we already have

Yes, I want this too!

Race based titles, which are like “little GWAMM’s”.
There could be one title, which is counting how many times character have used race based skill too. It could be like:
- Race based skills used 5000 times.

Toymaker Tixx IS going to kill Scarlet. He will make from her body parts little Scarlet dolls and give one doll to all Tyria dwellers. Each and every night those Scarlet dolls will wake up and do some pranks to their owners.

And each and every wintersday these Scarlet dolls will make alliance with princess dolls and they attack to unsuspecting people. Princess dolls will scream spine-chilling way and Scarlett dolls will yell: Die, die, die, die, die, die, die!

How about “Frozen Scarlett”?

Scarlett have been found frozen from head to toes and nobody knows how that happened. Majory starts to investigate why Scarlett have been frozen in a middle of the elonian desert. During the investigations she founds that there have been arisen a new Dragon, Spirit of Shaitan and it has freezing breath.

Scarlett has transfered to the Shiverpeaks, in the area of eternal ice and snow, nobody wants her melt again. But something happened, her heart is not as cold as all thinks, heat of her heart will melt her down and she escapes again…..

Yes players have been talk a lot of Mounts. But I bet the most longest forum debate ever will be Dueling tho.

guild window problem

This issue is happening to me right now. Game shows that I am alone in a guild roster, it does not show what rank I am in the guild, it does not show guild’s influence, no upgrades, no history.

I am located in the EU, but I am playing NA (Fort Aspenwood) server.

Please Arena Net, would you please fix this problem asap.

First of all, reward bags from Dynamic Events should be come once a day / event / account. So it would not be worthwhile to run just 4 – 5 same Dynamic Events.

These rewards I would like to see from Dynamic Events if they are success:
- Random Precursor (very rarely, no matter what level character is, lvl 1 – 80 areas, only from Gold rewards)
- Ascended items ( very rarely, no matter what level character is, lvl 1 – 80 areas, only from Gold rewards)
- Exotic item (armor or weapon), (normal exotic weapon no precursor weapon) (rarely, no matter what level character is, lvl 1 – 80 areas, only from Gold rewards)
- Karma bottle (randomly no matter what level character is, lvl 1 – 80 areas, Gold, Silver or Bronze rewards)
- Rare item ( randomly, no matter what level character is, but under lvl 25 no higher than level 25 rare item. When character is above lvl 25 higher rare items, lvl 1 – 80 areas Gold or Silver rewards )
- Masterwork item (mostly, no matter what level character is, level 1 – 80 areas, Gold, Silver or Bronze rewards)
- Fine item (never)
- White item (never)
- kitten crafting materials ( always, depending characters level, Gold, Silver or Bronze rewards)
- Gold (always, level 1 – 15 area 15 silvers, level 15 – 25 area 25 silvers, level 25 – 35 area 35 silvers, level 35 – 45 area 45 silvers, level kitten area 55 silvers, level 55 – 65 area 65 silvers, level 65 – 75 area 75 silvers, level 70 – 80 area 85 silver, level 80 area 1 gold, Gold, Silver or Bronze rewards)

This is awesome suggestion. But only thing what I would change on this suggestion is money.

- Gold (always, level 1 – 15 area 150 silvers, level 15 – 25 area 250 silvers, level 25 – 35 area 350 silvers, level 35 – 45 area 450 silvers, level kitten area 550 silvers, level 55 – 65 area 650 silvers, level 65 – 75 area 750 silvers, level 70 – 80 area 850 silver, level 80 area 1 gold, Gold, Silver or Bronze rewards)

In that way it sounds more rewarding

WooW. 150 silvers for events in lvl 1 – 15 zones. This would make us RICH, RICHIE RICH I am sure you are not familiar with the currency exchange.

Now, what I would add her list is this:

I have liked these Living Story events. Well I haven’t able to do some of them. I admit that I am stupid that way. I am handicapped with my fingers, I have severe arthritis, so my fingers are not so flexible as many younger have.

My concern is this, am I still able to continue next arc of living story, if I fail one part of it?

Yes this was selfish concern, but I like so much this living story in this game

Issues with getting in dungeon instances

Hi,

I have same issue as Elessar Iso.
I am EU and playing NA server Fort Aspenwood.

Even some of the players can get inside of dungeons/instances with those who does not have these problems (they are players who are living in NA and playing NA server) it is not solution to this issue. Everybody should able to start dungeon instance/ personal story instance/ another instance without problem no matter where they are physically living.

Please Anet, fix this issue.

Do even anybody from Anet even read this post? No one have answered to this post since 2 months ago.

Please Anet, give us a sign that someone is living in there and have not forgot us. We have serious problems with this game.

Armour skins. HELP PLEASE!!!

Profane Armor Skin can only use those professions who have light armor, like Elementalist, Mesmer or Necromancer.

It does not matter what your character race is, only what matters is what profession your character is. So if that Profane Armor skin says it is unusable your profession, means that your character is using some other type of armor, and your character is not Elementalist, Mesmer or Necromancer.

You didnt mention what was your character profession, only your character’s race. So I think the issue in here is that your character can not wear light armor.

So once more:
Elementalist, Mesmer and Necromancer = Light Armor
Ranger, Engineer and Thief = Medium Armor
Warrior and Guardian = Heavy Armor
