Gave up on this fight shortly after release due to bugs, but I’ve attempted to do it again yesterday + today.

Results:

1. Second flight phase, can’t get into air because the whirlwinds don’t do anything. Die.
2. Second flight phase. Still can’t get into air. Die again.
3. Restart instance. Blighted Pale Tree despawns before I can use the rift.
4. sigh Leave instance.

I mean… what.

Beta Weekend Druid Feedback Thread

Evermore.5649

Druid is kinda worthless outside any kind of group content. Only staff 1 does (single target) damage, with staff 4 also doing some on a long-ish cooldown

Still no AoE damage spell, which has been a bane of rangers for 3 years now.

Simply put: WAAAAAAY too many healing spells, some of them are basically identical with different animations. Not needed. Druids need more damage abilities (preferably a spammable aoe PLEASE) and less heals.
Especially in Astral Form… 2 (aoe heal + cleanse) 3 (aoe heal) 4 (aoe heal)… 1 (spammable aoe heal) we really really don’t need this many. It’s pointless.

Glyphs are worthless. I wouldn’t want to use any of them EVEN IF they had zero cooldown. Seriously, they’re horrible.

To sum things up:
- too many identical healing spells
- not enough damage spells
- no aoe damage spell
- glyphs are worthless
- astral form spells need to be a bit more varied

For those still having the issue I found a fix that worked for my on the Guild Wars 2 website

I found that the 3rd IP on the list worked best.
Hope that helped at least one person

Hey, feel free to check https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/community/lookingfor/EU-PvE-A-non-rep-dungeon-speedclear-guild and see if you’d be interested in joining. We will be offering everything you are looking for, including large friendly community, which is highly experienced in dungeons and pve content. So far for a bit over a week we’ve managed to get and trial around 50 members and we’re growing really fast. By the time HoT comes out, you should be able to have a large choice of good players to do raids with

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I’ve already spoken to one of the guild leaders, but it didn’t work out in the end I’m afraid.

[EU] LF semi-hardcore PvE guild (raids)

in Looking for...

Posted by: Evermore.5649

Evermore.5649

Hey there!

I’m currently looking for a guild to join and play with once the expansion is out.

Mainly interested in the new raids and the updated fractals, but I’m open to anything else PvE or WvW related as well.

I really enjoy team play and min-maxing, and I used to be in a top20 raiding guild in WoW as a healer (back in TBC and WotLK), so I’m probably/hopefully not a keyboard turner.

As far as my GW2 experience goes, I’ve been playing on and off since the initial launch. I have every profession at 80 except for thief. My most played professions are:
- Elementalist (main) staff, fully ascended (working on my last 2 pieces)
- Ranger, sword/GS, some ascended
- Necromancer, will be GS Reaper in HoT, some ascended

(Zerker gear, obvs.)

I have also participated in all LS1 events and completed all the LS2 achievements solo.

As for Fractals I’m currently at scale 31, but I’m looking forward to getting higher once they’ve been overhauled (I find the current system somewhat boring).

I’m available most evenings, but I don’t play every day. Obviously if we have a raid or anything else scheduled I’d be there, but I also have my real life to take care of (hence the semi-hardcore in the title).

Anyway that’s me in a nutshell.

Please let me know if your guild matches my description ^-^

[MAC] Framerate Issue

Evermore.5649

I’m saying this with the best intent, please do yourself a favour and install Windows with Bootcamp and play GW2 there. (I did the same thing)

It will improve your experience so much it’s like a whole different game. The ‘mac beta’ port is really poor as it’s nothing more than a cheap trick.

Will conditions finally be fixed in PvE?

I’d still like to know the answer to this… although I’m 99.9% sure condition specs will remain just as broken as they are now. :/

I may have misunderstood the article, but does this mean the max zoom distance will be greater than what it is currently?

One of the most annoying things in GW2 by far is the incredibly short max zoom distance.

Will conditions finally be fixed in PvE?

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Evermore.5649

As it is right now (and has been since release) condition specs in PvE are useless for anything other than soloing. I can stack 20+ bleeds on my condition Necro alone, so the 25 hard limit is kind of a joke really.

I’m really hoping for a fix in HoT, it’s been way too long.

It’s not a balance issue, and I don’t believe it’s a technical issue either unless GW2 servers are powered by hamster wheels.

So, will I ever see the challenge mote and be able to complete Dancer in the Dark or should I just give up?

It’s kind of ridiculous at this point. No matter how many times I log out/in, restart the game, change characters, the mote doesn’t appear -ever- .

So the tooltip says Elite skills are locked until you’re lvl 40…
But if you equip a kit you can actually purchase and use Elite skills regardless of your lvl as long as you have enough skill points.

I guess this isn’t supposed to be like this :p

- More people seem to just reach for the “naked greed” card very quickly. I don’t ever deny they need to make money to keep the servers on, or their staff paid. (Not. Once.) But it seems people like to think they’re all about raking in a pile of money to Scrooge McDuck in while laughing at our gullibility. (Not you, you at least attributed it to the need to make money, not the desire to fleece the customers.)

I’m sorry to unleash a piece of reality on you, but at the end of the day, profit is literally the only thing companies care about.
All their customer relations, PR, game updates and whatnot serve only 1 purpose — increasing profits.

You do realise corporations (generally speaking) outsource their entire manufacturing to developing countries, set up bank accounts in dodgy places, step on the throat of workers’ rights, destroy the environment with no remorse and pay pocket money to politicians, only so that they can achieve a marginal increase in their profits?

When NCSoft bigwigs have their meetings with fancy powerpoint presentations, do you think they care about anything that goes on in the game? If people are unhappy because they can’t craft precursors?
Literally the only thing they want to see is MORE MONEY. And how they get more money is up to the managers, the managers’ managers, the managers’ managers’ managers and so on, trickling down the corporate food chain.

It would take very little to simply re-enable the already existing SAB, and the issue would be solved.
It’s in a faraway corner of the world. If you care about SAB, go and play. Just like keg brawl and whatever.

Anet is out of touch

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Evermore.5649

Reading this interview kinda irked me. While it’s obvious that game designers have to put certain restrictions in place, ANet’s tone is borderline dictatorial — even when it comes to the most basic things that are given in any other MMO, such as field of view, top-down camera angle, first person PoV and so forth, they’re just like “We know what’s best for YOU”

Well no, you obviously and evidently do not.

ANet has this weird obsession with controlling everything, and a lot of that does not make any sense at all. I mean they managed to completely contradict themselves in the same interview.

Also I don’t care how much time and effort they put into designing things so they look good “up close”, 99% of the gear in this game still looks like poop.

final boss fight too much

Evermore.5649

I literally fail to understand how anyone could find this boss even remotely difficult. Let alone dying so many times that you run around naked.

BIG RED SHAPE UNDER YOU, telegraphed 2-3 seconds in advance. Don’t stand in it. Win.

Heck, the dragon barely has any hp either.

Unless you play with 2000ms and 5fps, I honestly don’t know how anyone could fail. If this makes me an “elitist” then so be it.
This boss fight is on the same difficulty level as crossing the street in real life. How are you people still alive?

I know, right! It’s like playing guitar – why is it so hard for some people to play the guitar solo in ‘Highway Star’ by Deep Purple? Or do the Travis picking/banjo roll stuff in ‘Never Going Back Again’ by Fleetwood Mac? It’s just moving your fingers around. Nothing to it! Easy as falling off a log. Come on, people! Step it up already.

And writing – I hear people all the time saying, “Oh, I wish I could write!” And I say to them, I say, "Well, gee, why don’t ya grab a pencil and some paper and have at it! " It’s not hard. Anybody can write! You just put words on a piece of paper! Voila! “It was the best of times, it was a dark and stormy night of the lepus!” See? I just wrote something. That’s all there is to it. Now where’s my big fat paycheck and 7-season multi-million dollar deal with HBO?

And that acting business – hah! “Oh, I would love to be an actor! But I just can’t act!” Bah! You’re just pretending to be somebody else. That’s something little kids and people at job interviews do all the time. Nothing to it. Anybody who says they can’t act – is acting! Because it’s that easy!

And ‘pro’ sports wannabes – don’t get me started. “Oh, if only I was good at basketball, baseball, football, soccer, golf, water polo, whatever…” Get real. There’s nothing to be ‘good’ at. It’s just people running around knocking balls of various shapes and sizes back and forth. Again, it’s something little kids do – little kids! – for fun!

Seriously! How do some people even manage to breathe? If I didn’t know better I’d think maybe some people are just not as good at some things as others, and for some reason some of those who are good at some things, like, oh, I don’t know, video games, like to crow about how good they are on video game forums in some inexplicable attempt at making others feel bad about themselves for not being as good.

Or something. Now excuse me while I go put my left foot in, take my left foot out, put my left foot in and shake it all about.

Well, you have completely missed the point and decided to wrap it in a sarcastic rant-trip, but that’s ok, it was a nice read.

Anyway, just to address your… errr… critique:

To be able to play a guitar to that high standard requires years of learning and an excellent muscle memory, plus a million genetic traits that simply make some people better at playing musical instruments. Talent, I think it’s called.

Creative writing, acting and being a professional sport player, again, require a unique mix of talent and years of training. No wonder if you want to do any of your four example fields at a ‘professional’ level, you have to devote your whole life to it.
You couldn’t have picked worse examples.

The general combat play system of Guild Wars 2 on the other hand is incredibly BINARY. It operates on a basic “IF-THEN” level, from the first moment of the game up till now. It’s a lot less complex than many other MMOs out there, and the essence of the game can be mastered in a matter of hours.

The entire game is about dodging / moving out of red circles. The. Whole. Game.
That, and strafing.

Now, since we’re talking about the Living Story, which is only available to lvl80 characters, one would assume that the players got to this point somehow. They managed to get to lvl80 AND managed to get this far in the LS.

So I ask again: what EXACTLY was the difficult part in the dragon boss fight? What caused some people to die so many times all their gear broke?
This boss has absolutely no added difficulty, it operates with the exact same gameplay rules as literally EVERYTHING ELSE up to this point.

I see some people in this thread complain about having to dodge too much, so classes with access to Vigor have it much easier.
I just want to point out that you don’t even need to dodge at all during the whole boss fight, unless you get unlucky once or twice and/or position yourself badly.
So maybe it’s due to people not understanding the fight in general? Regardless, it’s not the fight itself that’s difficult.
