Livia’s hairstyle’s the one I’m talking about yeah, I’d love to be able to take a simple long straight hairstyle for example, and make it red with blonde highlights or streaks using the same method.

I just discovered some new hairstyles that were apparently snuck in recently? with my fave being the human female one where the “accessory” is a dyed streak of another color, Please tell me more of these are in the works? Hell I’d be happy if you just reworked most of the existing ones to allow for two tone colors in this way!

Hopefully this won’t be lost in all the PoF preview spam.

I know hang gliding will be a thing in HoT, and I assume/hope that there will be tons of new jumping puzzles too. So I keep wondering how will they keep you from just gliding to the end of a jumping puzzle? A debuff of some sort that keeps you from getting credit unless you take the long way?

Also, assuming they have a solution to this, would it be possible to enable gliding in the old world as well? Back when I played WoW being able to fly in Outland but not Azeroth was helluva annoying and I’m hoping the same thing isn’t going to happen here.

Okay, I’ll be honest. The true reason for this post is because I want to know if I’ve gotten into the HoT beta or not.

But, shoving that aside for now, I signed up for the newsletter almost two weeks ago. I have yet to see a newsletter or even a confirmation that I signed up for a newsletter. I’m worried that I’m being sent emails but not receiving them. I’ve checked both Outlook and my online webmail.

I do know that when my IP address changes. I always get the security email without fail. in fact just about a week before I signed up for the newsletter I had to do a hard reboot on my router, and I got the security verification email about 2 seconds after I went to log back into GW2.

So, do I have a problem or is anet just not sending me anything interesting to read?

I bet a lot of people are raging over the removal of WvW maps from World completion. Because: If something exists, someone will complain about it! (That needs to be an Internet Rule if it’s not already)

So, I need to let everyone know that there’s a good chance I stole one of your Siege Golems in order to complete a WvW map. No really! There’s always some fort that no one cares about, not even the owners, that’s left unguarded but there’s nothing you can do about it because the zerg’s half a map away. Somehow, that place always seemed to have the waypoint that I needed.

Thankfully, I’ll never need to do this again!

I’ve tried both Thistle and Summer Thistle, neither seem to be close. The best I’ve found so far is Plum oddly enough, but my obsessive brains is still looking for something better!

I’ve been trying to finish up my Sky Pirate achievements, but I haven’t seen any pirates spawn at Hologram Generators for days. Is this a bug? Is there some trick to get them to spawn now? I’ve tried running past, sitting and waiting, killing the holograms, Killing the holograms and waiting for the generator to reset.. Nothing seems to work.

I finally got my (hopefully first) Legendary, The Dreamer. and I’ve heard all sorts of myths and legends surrounding these weapons. I’ve heard they’re coded to auto-upgrade to whatever a top tier weapon is as new content is added to the game. I’ve heard that they get glitchy if you use them to re-skin something else, and that they’ll loose the upgradability if you do so.

What’s the truth!?

I’ve been noticing this on Jade Quarry a lot lately, most often at Shelter’s gate right after the event. Champion Spiders with Veteran hatchling minions spawn along with a horrific champion wraith and pretty much wipe everyone there.

What leads me to believe this is a bug and not a feature, is that they’re neutral when they spawn (but someone always attacks them anyway) and when you do manage to kill them, they give no xp and no loot. You can’t convince me that’s working as intended.

I farm for vanilla beans alot as I love making and selling (and eating!) omnomberry bars. I’ve noticed that when I use orichalcum tools, especially in the low level zones like Metrica Province I get significantly more vanilla beans than if I use lower level tools. So it appears the the higher level gathering tools do in fact increase your chance of rare/bonus drops from gathering nodes.

Cool, I suspected that was the truth. Next question: If you use a transmutation stone on a Legendary so it has the stats you want, will it still adjust when new weapons come out or have you have you turned it into an extraordinarily expensive weapon skin?

I remember hearing a while back that the truely awesome thing about Legendaries was that they would auto-adjust to remain top tier weapons even as new content is added to the game. Yet, people claim all the time that they are nothing more than extraordinarily expensise weapon skins.

Alright, I left Heaven Benchmark running on extreme settings for a couple hours. It ran smoothly the whole time and my card topped out at about 71C. So, it’s looking like this problem is specific to GW2.

When I first installed the card I installed the 314.07 drivers, after I got the black screen a few times I went to the 314.14 beta drivers, after which the problem seemed to happen a little less. after I reset the antialiasing settings in the nvidia control panel, it’s happened exactly once, and has since been running smoothly all night.

I’m not sure what the GPU temp is, but My case temperature is 10 degrees cooler since installing the new card, it also uses 49 watts less power than my old card (GTX 275) My power supply is 800 watts.

A few days ago I got myself a new graphics card, a Geforce GTX 660 Ti. Since I installed it GW2 will occassionally go black for a few seconds, accompanied by a buzzing sound. 4 out of 5 times it will recover. The sound will come back and then a few seconds later the picture will come back. If it doesn’t recover I end up with a memory management blue screen.

I’ve been playing with Anti-aliasing turned off, (In the game, not in the nvidia control panel) so I’m worried that was I have is something else. Any help would be appreciated. dxdiag available on request.

Oh, and yes, icons did need to be unique, yet with so many other bugs in game it would hardly seem a priority……..

I’m sure Anet will be happy to put the art department through the 6+ months of training it would need to help the coders out… just for you!!

All we seem to know about the apparent disappearance of the Human Gods is that they have gone silent.. and yet, they haven’t entirely. The most glaring evidence for this is all the human racial skills that are basically prayers to the gods, and they work!

It’s also possible to speak with a spirit servant of Grenth during the personal story, who seems pretty confident that Grenth’s still alive and kicking.

Then we have Zhaitan taking over all the Orrian Temples, if the Gods were outright gone, why would he have any interest in them and why would they enable him to influence the land around the various statues?

It’s my belief that the Gods’ silence is not voluntary. It’s the presence of the Dragons that’s limiting their power. It’s also interesting that their are theories of a sixth elder dragon lurking about, which would give us one Dragon for each God. Hmm….

So, I’m looking for any scraps of lore that would provide evidence both for and against this idea, to see where it leads!

I think there has been theory’s and tests of a spinning counterweight in the helicopter to counteract the spin instead of the tail rotor. Due to the tail roto being far more easier it is never used commercially but it could solve the problem.

“Magic” is too easy an explanation. Ask an Asura how their magic works, and if you’re awake at the end of the 3 hour lecture it’ll make sense! Spinning Counterweights make sense!

The Charr Helicopters have bugged me for a while now, partially because I’m a nerd and partially because I have a friend who’s a former Army Helicopter pilot.

The biggest problem with them is they don’t have any counter rotation. They should be spinning out of control! I know that artistically/aesthetically they look like they do because to give them a tail rotor would make them look far too much like real world helicopters, but I still wonder how they stay stable?

Also, they have no landing gear and no visible means of loading/unloading passengers and cargo. How do you get in and are they expected to just stay in flight forever?

With the introduction of Guesting we now have access to three times as many gathering nodes. They had to make some changes to keep the market from crashing even more than it already has.

The Grenth event has been patched, it’s now far easier to complete while still being more challenging. Thread over!

I’d really like to hear an official word about the changes to the Grenth event. The entire floor covered in AOE’s all the time seems beyond cruel to me. I find it hard to believe it’s supposed to work this way.

Just wanted to say I think the OP’s idea is awesome. I’ve pretty much given up on getting a Legendary as it is. Also, would it be such a terrible thing for Dungeon and long event chain chests to have maybe a 25% chance to drop a Core?

Everything Anet’s done to try to balance the economy so far has has the opposite effect. This seems like a step in the right direction.

When I “defeat” The sovereign Eye of Zaitan in this mission, it goes to a soundless cutscene where the eye monologues about it’s death, them I’m returned to the instance with an invulnerable Eye with one hitpoint that just.. never dies.

Anyone know a way to kick this mission into actually completing? Thanks!

I have two groups of friends I play with on different servers, my regular guild, and some old gaming friends who play occasionally. I found out the other day that changing worlds isn’t as easy as it used to be, there’s the 24 hour waiting period now, plus the sever that I’d like to think of as Home is full alot of the time. It’s probably going to take me a few more days to get back on it.

I remember hearing about a guesting system that would allow us to play with friends on other servers, is this is the game yet and if so how does it work?

I’m stuck on the story quest Estate of Decay, the door leading further into the manse doesn’t open, neither does the front door, The only way to leave is to log out and back into the game, but I’d really like to be able to finish my personal story!

I’m a guild wars newbie, and I’m at the point in my character’s personal story where I’m being asked what descent me and my sister are.. Krytan, Ascalonian, everything in between, these names mean nothing to me but for the sake of RP I wanna give a good answer! I’ve been searching the wiki but haven’t turned up anything yet. I have to disagree with needing paid anti-virus. if your vigilant, Microsoft Security Essentials in addition with the free version of Malwarebytes has kept my systems well protected. Malwarebytes is so amazing it’s almost magical, it’ll find and remove things in 10 minutes that used to take me hours to remove manually. The trick is to do regular manual scans. Everyone thinks that just having anti-virus software running keeps you protected. It doesn’t!

I just checked my email to find my inbox spammed with messages from ArenaNet asking me to authorize login attempts.. I haven’t read every single message but it looks like every one was from a different city and IP address, all in China.

Uhm.. WTF!? This is.. frightening. I’ve barely owned the game for a day and already I’ve got chinese hackers after my stuff? I was amazed to find that I can actually login to my account, I fully expected to have a temporary ban. Besides changing my password what else can can I do to protect myself?

I’m in a painful situation. I have two groups of friends who’ve settled into two different worlds and put down strong enough roots that they’re not going to be moving any time soon. I want to play with both of them. But I only get one world. This is forcing me to make the decision “Which Group of friends would you like to alienate?” The answer is going to boil down to which group plays the game more often and has the most active guild. I need to know how long I’ve got to make the choice.
I’d really like to know if there’s going to be a way to get access to a second server without buying a second copy of the game. I’d be happy to pay for access to a second server as long as it’s significantly less than $60. I’m also annoyed that NCsoft may be making money off of my suffering. -_-
