Not sure if we’ll need to fill the tech support forum with these posts before it gets its rightful attention.
First off I had been without power for 2 weeks from Hurricane Sandy that hit the Northeast USA. I finally get power back (after I put my house in order) and tried to play some long needed Guild Wars 2. Graphics in the game were completely borked. See uploaded screenshot.
I’ve included my game advisor report for convenience. After support failed to help me, and eventually stopped responding to my replies I decided to reformat my machine. I can’t tell you how much I despise being ignored in support tickets once they deem the problem solved. It’s always a good thing to ignore your customers /sarcasm, I’ve had enough of that from Hewlett-Packard, I’d rather not get it here.
After reformatting my machine I go to download the client. Download failed. I’ve been living in a cold house with no heat, eating barbeque warmed up Ramen noodles for 2 weeks and this is what I come back to? Yes I’m furious.
A speedy response this time that helps would be more than appreciated. I’d down right hug you.

BigPotato thanks for the contribution, but I don’t have ISP issues. I live in New York and I’m still getting this problem. I just reformatted my machine and am also unable to download the client.
I found the right angle to slide down the entire side of Rata Sum. Once I landed and fell off the side I hit the ground for 250,000 damage. Dead and on the floor I used a Revive Orb. After wandering around the void for some time a loading screen popped up.
And I was in prison. Missing a kidney as well.
My first real visit to Rata Sum I realized I had to slide down the side and reach the bottom.
1 month later I have succeeded.
But the man found me, unfortunately force fields don’t work well with force fields.
Been electrocuted twice. Prison Warden Zikki keeps throwing balls of yarn at me.
Racists.
I can vouch for this as well today I ran AC twice. Each run awarded only 6 tears + Silver. Each of the people with me were being awarded far more. The previous patch awarded more.
I’m aware this is a bug, but please reward the earned emblems, no more of the “not handing out in game items.”
Patches have unforeseen consequences yes, but please own up to them and deal with the accordingly. I have submitted an in game support based bug report with a screen shot. Let’s see if that does anything.
I’m glad there are many like-minded people playing the game in response to the story line.
But seriously definitely Kormir. Can’t be Rurik, because the dear Ascalonian prince did get his just desserts.
I’d like to stress overall I do ADORE this game. However, there are some things I would prefer retconned or just avoided in general. I loved the idea of my character being a support: if I was developed as a support and not a wall flower to a flat character.
My hope is that in the coming fights against Kralkatorrik and Jormag that we see a deep exploration of characters. The Pact will obviously be continuing the fight, however, seeing as Trahearne’s mission is done a more appropriate commander should take the lead, if not create a Pact War Council.
It seems based on Arah explorable mode, Kralkatorrik will be the next main focus. The set-up is great, I’m already itching to continue this fantastic MMORPG, but Destiny’s Edge can be brought to a more direct light, allow them to take their vengeance on Kralkatorrik. Allow the mighty crystal Elder dragon to meet his demise on the mighty heroes he once bested.
I pray that Trahearne does not come to the realization that without his Wyld Hunt his life mission will be to continue the fight against the remaining Elder Dragons. If that happens we will be seeing this flavorless vegetable a lot more.
Hear now this dreadful yarn of the guild wars 2 addict who was painfully robbed. He at first tried to complete the terrible Malchor’s Leap, but nay the skill challenge was bugged. So patiently he waited praying for the coming of the prophesied reset.
Then the day came and he journeyed to the skill challenge and dueled the spectral Juggernaut. The foe was no match for the hero’s grenades.
Eagerly he opened the zone completion reward. There it was 40 orichalcum, 44 silver, and 2 exotic armor, one medium shoulder one heavy leg.
But once he checked his empty inventory slots there was nothing! No money no loot no ore. He was in such despair. His mail was empty but nay it did not even appear upon relogging. Be careful friends this could happen to you!
DONT COMPLETE ZONES AT RISK OF YOUR LOOT GETTING BUGGED.

An Anet response to this post would be greatly appreciated.
The NPC does not spawn at its location in Malchor’s Leap, unlike the bugged Straits of Devastation waypoiint which could be fixed with the Guardian ’Line of Warding," this NPC is simply not there to start the skill challenge. I believe the NPC is a Spectral Juggernaut.
Hi there thought I’d return and stress a few points. For those stating that we as players are dissatisfied because of a focus on a new protagonist as the story develops could not be more wrong. I thought Anet’s idea to make your character a team player rather than the “Chosen One” archetype was not only a good idea but quite original. However, the writers who developed the post order quest lines did so rather poorly. I don’t need to repeat the tremendous amount of evidence already posted here by those who agree with me.
Trahearne clearly states the Commander (you) is the only one he can trust to be his 2nd in command. How does this moment develop? That is a tremendously significant statement seeing as he has truly remarkable characters to form his war council. However, once again he lets that relationship become meaningless. Not once does he show any doubt, never does his conviction seem strained.
A hero is not defined by how perfect he is to begin with. A hero proves himself through adversity. Trahearne approaches the siege of Orr like an easy mode game of Guitar Hero.
On a side note @Kromulous that screenshot made me laugh so hard, not even kidding.
Well regarding the underwater combat I’d like to point out the hilarity of it for engineers. Now obviously all manners of play style should be possible underwater, however, the engineer speargun is so hilariously useless I don’t bother with it.
So as a result I share with you the easiest way to murder everything underwater. In fact ignore your weapons. As of now our kits are pretty meaningless seeing as they do not carry weapon stats over. But, underwater the sheer damage from the Grenade kit is unbelievable. I have 30 points in the Explosives tree, making sure to pick up burns, increased explosion radius and increased distance with + 1 Bonus grenade on toss. Everything is auto target with grenades under water, not to mention that you can throw grenades as fast as you can hit the 1 button (well not really but its on no cooldown). Literally every other grenade skill is meaningless.
Now the damage output is enormous, noone in my guild can fight underwater like a grenadier + turrets. But the fact that this is the only feasible way to fight underwater as an engineer is a problem.
Yeah some missions seemed almost impossible, I joined up with some friends to complete some of the more difficult quests. The AI has a tendency to completely ignore the allied NPC’s for the most part, and even if they take some aggro they die rather quickly anyway. The same goes for a majority of the later dungeons. I don’t think they received as much balancing seeing as they couldn’t be mass tested during the beta.
NOTE: I do reveal SPOILERS proceed at your own caution.
Trahearne becomes the focus of the story line post your personal Order quest line. I would not mind if he had been developed in the slightest. Trahearne easily is the flattest character in the entire story.
While some people complain because their character no longer is the chosen one, I complain because the game essentially gags me with a dirty rag covered in “Trahearne is Awesome” brand chloroform. There is a reason why Superman is one of the least interesting super heroes. It is because he is the golden boy and he can do everything. Inexplicably everyone and their cousin owes Trahearne a favor.
“I’m just a scholar” wields a greatsword like a master. For a man, or vegetable, that has not experienced military command before it is astonishing how he does not even stumble in his new position as Marshall of the Pact. There is rising to the occasion and there is being so good it is no longer believable.
The man shows so little emotional conflict in regards to his decisions, you would think someone faced with such overwhelming responsibility, for the first time presented with a chance to fulfill his destiny might give you something to relate to while you sit in your chair frantically clicking for survival against the undead horde. But no.
Don’t get me wrong. I adore this game and a majority of the quests are phenomenal. I myself played the charr and sylvari starter areas and took my charr through the order of whispers. The mentors in both of those zones and stages of the quest were fantastic, well rounded, entertaining and they gave your character AND the mentor more meaning. Trahearne just drops the ball.
I mean I’ve never been fond of that tier of the food pyramid. I always did prefer my meat.
