I think there are a number of very delusional people (on all three servers, but more on BP per this thread).

Lets just clear something up.

All three of our servers suck at WvW, we have a horrible rank. Having an ego in 13th or 14th place is hilarious.

So take a step back, realize whichever server even wins this match is still a poor WvW server and put your ego away. I’m trying not to be super specific and point fingers at anyone so nobody has to get super defensive but seriously, come on guys.

Lets have a good fight and maybe show a little more respect all around. I know it’s possible, there was a ton of that when SBI was at the top with HoD and JQ and I’d argue servers in 1, 2 and 3 have a far more difficult time maintaining tact and not letting ego’s get out of hand than people in 12, 13, 14.

And that’s great. Just pointing out bragging about being in even 10th place is well, 10th place. In almost every sport you don’t see a big celebration for 10th place. Shoot, you don’t usually see a celebration for 4th place.

I play this game for fun and some of the ego’s in here are just silly. Since you are from NSP I’ll make it clear that I think NSP has a ton of respect and carries themselves well on the forums. Most of what I said wasn’t directed at your server but I wanted to generalize it so people didn’t get immediately defensive and ignore it.

Bottom line, the ego’s are ridiculous and again downright funny considering this is so far from the top. Why don’t we agree to put them away, play the game and show some good sportsmanship.

This logic makes no sense. Why are you comparing our servers to those that have much more population than us? All our ranking tells us is how much people we have. You’re just being a baby about it.

Most people (not so much you evil) completely missed my point. Except the baby part. I don’t care if BP wins, I really don’t as long as we gave it our best. The kitteny, arrogant little trash talking however isn’t necessary.

Regardless of whatever reasoning/excuse people want to make for being in in 12, 13, 14 etc we still are there and there are many other servers that would crush any of our servers.

I’m not saying anything positive about SBI for the record, I’m not claiming we are great etc like a ton of other people on this forum because I try to maintain humility. I prefer the win that comes after not talking trash and I have no problem telling someone who won GG.

What I’ve been getting at the entire time is there are quite a few very disrespectful people (i would argue a majority on one of the three servers playing right now) who like to boast a ton.

I simply said I think it’s poor sportsmanship for 1 and for 2 it’s also pretty silly to me because again no matter what excuse you feel like making -there are over 10 other servers that would utterly crush any of our servers in this match.

Also stop with the excuses. Want to start using population as an excuse why your server isn’t in the top 10? Ok, that’s why BP is winning, because they have more people… See how that works? Excuses are stupid (population, location, “hacks”, etc) just leave it out and play the game. When BP win’s I’ll be the first to say they were the better server, not “they had more people, it wasn’t, fair blah blah blah”

Wishful thinking I suppose but I’d prefer to win with class any day of the week than the alternative.

I guess if your logic is 24/7 100 man blobs like in the tier 1, 2 areas, then yeah I guess we all suck. To be honest I can’t see how any of us would want to go any higher. The only way to get any decent even number fights is to blob up here in this matchup. I can say that I have had a few run ins with BP that while even outnumbered by 1 or 2 still led to some good fights. Maybe once all week with SBI but mostly with SBI if they blow all of their utilities and can’t burst you down they hurry as fast as they can back to their 20-60 man group. This comment is not meant to be disprespectful in any way, just a mere comment as to what I experience daily.

Blobs just wouldn’t be fun to me, plus WvW is about numbers and coverage. That is what the rankings show….. NOT skill. Still having a good time in WvW this week though and proud of how we held against BP and SBI hitting us at the same time last night. Props NSP!

My comment was actually focused simply around checking the ridiculous ego that I’ve seen from a number of people here.

Discussing large scale combat is a completely different matter. I’d argue if you are looking for small scale pvp WvW might not be the best venue and that Arenanet has provided that feature through the mists.

I’d also argue that it’s possible the average WvW only player isn’t great at small scale pvp because they probably spend the majority of their time with good sized groups since much of the objectives in WvW require that.

Personally I don’t care how you play, I don’t care if I even lose in WvW, as a team or an individual, it’s a fun game win or lose. I just think the ego is stupid and get tired of seeing some people running their mouth so much about how awesome they are.

Just wanted to say, the fight at SBI hills today was hilarious.
Not only did we hold outer for 1hour+ but lords room for about 25+ minutes with 15 people against 40 SBI, i must say, if i were the commander of that SBI zerg, i’d be badly ashamed of myself. Your first push cleared all our siege and npc’s in lords, but you whiped half the zerg, the second time we held you off with simple combat against those huge odds for another 20 minutes, all tho you did cap it at the end, i wouldn’t have been very happy with that performance..
However, so proud of the BP who were their and defended, was amazing.

We would have kept it if it weren’t for the zoom-hacking elementalists from SBI who cleared the tons of siege we had set up. I have screenshots but don’t see the point in posting them.

Careful now, you are going to rub yourself raw patting yourself on the back too hard.

PS. You should add that to your resume, seriously.

Due to the amount of accusations flying about between SBI and BP, I will decree a solution. Clearly, we need to petition to have ANET remove entry into all towers and structures for the remainder of the week, AND temporary removal of all doors/gates in Stonemist. Then we can happily play (kick the kitten) out of each other for the remainder of the week.

Anyone who needs to exploit to get more points in a meaningless score is, well, pathetic. REGARDLESS of server. Seriously though, lock all towers pls anet 0;>

I honestly believe the people truly taking advantage of it are a very small minority (and not exclusive to one server) but since BP has been losing the recent match up, a few of their forum posters are using it as an excuse. Fortunately even that group of people is a minority and as we’ve seen there are BP players on here with common sense and good sportsmanship not looking for some excuse.

There are, by the end of the clip, 5 dead SBI that had managed to find their way through a gate. The first guys seen is the norn warrior with silver hair who gets killed, the second is a corpse seen (SBI Raider [MOA]) from someone killed prior to this footage, the third is the SBI soldier from [MOA] guild, the forth is the dead corpse of an SBI assaulter from [Life] guild, and the fifth is the warrior at the end.

And like I said, yeah this time we were there waiting for them and no advantage was to be gained. But what of the other times this has happened and nobody has been around to defend or record? That’s when its a big problem. Unfortunately the best time to capture footage isn’t always the most relevant.

Ok, hold on a minute. Lets be realistic here. There are always people, not specific to one server who will exploit if they get an opportunity to. These people however are fortunately a minority.

I just came back to the game and I’m sure I don’t spend a fraction of the time you do in WvW so I don’t have videos like you but I’d be willing to bet this has happened with BP and NSP players as well (and every other server for that matter).

What I CAN tell you is that the times I spent doing WvW this weekend, when this happened (and it happens frequently to people unintentionally), they would come back out and at the same time you would see people telling them to just hop back over the wall etc.

SBI is not winning due to “exploits” and it’s not something that is condoned. Every server will have bad apples and there is nothing you can do about that. Some people don’t have integrity and until Arenanet fixes this there will be a minority who willfully try to exploit this. It’s unfair to claim a server is actively using this tactic to win though.

I remember back when I played and SBI was jumping from 1-2 with HoD, there was all this talk of both servers “hacking” and stealing orbs by flying across the map.

I’m willing to bet both BP and SBI’s average population is full of players with integrity. I also won’t be surprised if I see either side with a few that try and take unfair advantage of broken game mechanics.

However you won’t see me claiming BP is full of hackers if I see a small percentage doing this.

Finally, as I mentioned I’m just coming back to the game so I’m not that familiar with BP yet (my time in game was when SBI was a completely different server). With that said the last week I saw a ton of chest thumping from many BP posters on here and really got a kitteny impression from the majority of their posters.

Since the reset almost all I see are excuses etc as to why BP isn’t winning. Have some good sportmanship, man (or woman in some cases) up and try and take the lead back.

I loved the old HoD, JQ, SBI fights -there was mostly good sportsmanship and epic fights. Win or lose most of the 3 always gave the others props and kept trying to take the lead back.

If I recall, that’s how SBI earned the title Steelballs Island haha (from HoD) Drop the excuses, bring the fight and have some fun -that’s why we play these games anyway right?

after having looked at rankings, SBI is certainly not the server it once used to be. It was a major player for a long time but apparently people left.

SBI lost a lot of dedicated WvWers during the server hopping craze, since server transfers were essentially free during the first couple months after launch.

Yeah makes sense -or they just stopped playing. I know I stopped at about the 6 month mark.

Crazy to see how much things have changed.

Having started playing this game during release and just now coming back it’s pretty funny to see servers I had never heard of acting so kitteny.

I only mention that because I see a lot of condescending posts from BP. SBI was top 2 for a long time (over 6 months i believe), populations change and consequently ranking. From what I can see BP appears to have a ton more players during off hours too which is always a huge advantage if either of the other servers do not.

People with ego’s crack me up. Seeing a mid ranked server talk smack is hilarious (to be honest i think talking trash on here is stupid even if you are top tier) but it’s a even more ironic to be talking trash to a server that was on top for a very long time when the server talking the trash has never been top tier.

It’s crazy to see Henge so low too, I remember HoD, SBI and JQ were epic battles in the top 3 spots.
