So it basically comes down to that I just should keep on playing it as long as I love and enjoy it hehe ;-) I wasn’t planning on quitting any time soon anyway. Good to see that there are plenty of people who also just love this game.

I’m going to take issue with the use of the word hate. Sure, words evolve over time, but hate should not be one of them. It has a pretty strong meaning which leaves little room for any other emotions.

I’m pretty sure that most of the criticism is from people who like the game in general but have some issue with an aspect they find unappealing. Now, I’ll grant you that there are some posters who loved the game, and for whom the relationship has soured to the point that their love for the game has turned to hate. They’re a tiny minority on these boards, though.

Yes I agree that hate is a bit harsh and too strong, but, I didn’t have enough sapce for my title, hate was one of the shorter words. I wanted to use a sentence with complaints, but I just couldn’t fit it in.

So, why is crafting in quotes? Do you think there’s a more accurate word for it than crafting?

Or do you think being able to craft them is a lie and we’re all hallucinating about it?

Well, I haven’t done it myself yet, haven’t looked much at it. I wasn’t sure that it really is crafting, thought that it went more through achievments, but guess that’s not the case. Guess you do the achievments in order to unlock the recipes and then you craft.

Whenever I go on the forums, I find so many complaints about all the bad things in this game.

Things like:

• The way of ’’crafting’’ your precursor.
• Dungeon reward nerfs.
• Grinding masteries experience points.
• Grinding for currencies in the new HoT maps.
• The lack of background information / story about the Revenant.
• All the holes in the story part of Heart of Thorns.
• The legendary armor crafting part, it’s not even completley done some say.
• The lack of versatility in dungeons and fractals.

The list can go on for quite some time. All of these points are somewhat true, but I still
LOVE THIS GAME. Recently made my revenant and since then I’ve been hooked again to GW2, I couldn’t even sleep at night because of excitement. I’ve been here since day one ( head start weekend ). Got about 3000 hours into the game.

Looking at all these bad points of the game really makes me feel bad, but at the same time I can’t stop playing it, it’s so weird, it’s like a battle inside of me lol, like a cold war, but I will keep on playing.

I don’t know what the point is of this post, I just wanted to share my feelings and maybe read your thoughts.

I am in the market of buying a new desktop, it will be mainly used for gaming, school work ( CAD, photoshop, MS office and such ) and a bit of video editting. The game I play the most is GW2. Now I am wondering If Guild Wars 2 will perform much better on the i7 compared to the i5, or will the difference be barely noteable ? Because I heard some people say that GW2 is quite CPU heavy and not so much GPU…
I want GW2 to run smoothly even in big WvW battles or World Boss fights.

My GPU will most likely be a gtx 970 or a 290x, or even maybe the new 390×.
Oh, I am running all of this on a 1440p monitor.

Any advice / comments would be helpful!

About the lenovo y50, the only downside on that is the bad screen, ive seen it for my self and its really bad, i must sit perfectly infront of the screen in order to get nice colors. And I dont need ultra graphics, also, its €999 here in my country, and newegg is very new in my country ( The Netherlands ).

And I don’t know what TLC is / are, i jsut know the 840 Evo is quite nice, ill need mSata.

But do u guys think that i can run med/high graphics with an i7-4700HQ with gt 840m ?

The €800 acer has an IPS screen btw. And yes, it’s not just for gaming, the reason im buying this laptop is because of college, but I just want to be able to play GW2 sometimes when im away or got nothing to do at school.
And good thing for me that I almost never play wvw haha…

An asus with a i7-4700HQ with a Geforce GT 840m is an other option for me. The Asus is a bit thicker and heavier than the Acer, so that’s maybe a little downside.
But, which laptop would be better you guys think? For just general use, like word and youtube / internet and for some Guild Wars 2? They both cost €800

I forgot to say, if I buy 1 of these laptops, I Will put an 120gb SSD, Samsung Evo 840 inside, and GW2 will be on it.

Yeah I know what the U stands for, but this laptop is still a steal it seems to me. And I heard 2 people say that they can play battlefield 4 on the laptop and also NFS: The Run on ultra…so that’s quite good ;o !

Hey guys, so im looking at laptops voor my school / study and i’d also like to be able to play gw2 at like medium/high graphics with atleast 30fps. So I found this pretty laptop, it’s very thing and low weight, it has a good price / value I think, something I’d call a bang for buck. Acer Aspire V5-573G-54218G50aii, nou my question is, can this thing run GW2 ? Or is the CPU the bottleneck, the weak point?

Agree man, if there won’t come a freaking expansion by the end of this year…it will never come, got nothing to do in this game anymore. They are losing people every day…

This may be an unpopular response but unless you absolutely need just one single powerful laptop I would suggest getting a cheap (and portable!) ~300€ laptop and then getting a desktop than can run GW2 as almost any discrete graphics card will win hands down in gaming performance. The main thing is though after what 8 years of Uni the number of times I’ve actually needed a powerful laptop (besides gaming) is surprisingly few, most of the time it just sits at my desk. Now I really wish I would have gone in this direction originally.

Yeah I have thought of thought option. The thing is, my pc runs GW2 just fine, but, me and my friends have a lan party every now and then, so a powerful laptop would be nice, and I decided to not upgrade my desktop and thus spend that money on a laptop.
But yeah…. I found a sick lenovo with gtx 860m, but it has no cd drive…
And now I don’t know wether to go for a cheaper laptop, like 500-600 euro’s, or get a really good one for 999 euros.
I’m still stuck.

If what u say is true….then any laptop with gt750m or higher should be able to run it lol, and MANY laptops have that.

Unfortunately I do not know that, because I haven’t started my study yet. But the system requirements for my laptop according to my school are very low… So I’m thinking that if it can run GW2, then it will definitely be good enough for college haha.
And is a GTX 850m with DDR3 good enough ? and how much better would be the DDR5, and will a GT 840m also be good enough, also DDR3, for like medium / high graphics.

Yeah I wont be rendering, I will be making CAD drawings and at a point i have to use photoshop.
And about the MSI’s, I read quite some articles where people complain about their quality…
HP laptops also seem to be bad, but, i found such a nice HP laptop for 700 euros, but yeah, dunno if it’s that good…

An i5-4210U at 1.7GHz with a GTX 850M, is that good ? or should i pay 80 euros more and get a i7-4700 HQ ?

Hey guys, I need a laptop for college but, also would like to be able to play gw2 at about high settings… it’s the only game I play. So, anyone here who maybe knows a good laptop? Like bang for bucks ? I’ve been searching so long for laptops…
Best solution would be to buy an Asus with a gtx 850m, preferably with gddr5, but can’t find the gddr5 version :S
So now I want something cheaper. Something for €600 euros would be the best, but can also pay a bit more.

Your character has such dark colors and it seems almost like 1 tone of colours. I’d add more colour. And the Crossing ( staff ) fits necro’s soooo well ^^ thats what im gonna get soon. Also, take a look at trickster armor, i really like it. got it on my necro.

I do not experience what you experience, I can kill many warriors ( with berserker’s stance), you just have to outlast those 8 – 10 seconds of that stance, quite easily done with Spectral Walk ( not sure of the name lol ) and with Shadow Shroud ( if you have the life force ofcourse). I play a terrormancer ( lot’s of fears ) with rabid’s amulet.
And you can remove their stability with one of your two boon removing skills ( I use the well one ). I also prefer Condi necro over power necro, because power necro is more dependent of your team…

Anyway, hope this helped you a bit.

Yeah I went to that NPC but he only gave me 3 common tonics, which gave me those town clothes… :S and nothing in bank.

Hi guys, so I had a riding broom and the sonic drilling tool or something, but I can’t find them anywhere… Anyone know where they might be lol ? Otherwise a compensation would be nice hehe…

Yeah I have the same problem :S But… it seems that the weapons which my character had equip’d in pvp did go to the wardrobe…but ofcourse, that’s not enough xD

Im excited about allll updates, only downside i might see is that if somebody has 2 legendary weapons, or bought the same armor skin for 800 gems just for their different chars. But what the hell else is there to complain lol.

Hello, i just got a little question, do you guys think that only the weapons / armor in your pvp bank will become skins which u can use in pve ? or also the weapons which your characters are wearing atm?

I would prefer they put it on indefinite hiatus and fix the dozens of fundamental problems like poor game optimization, bad dungeons, dead zones everywhere, bad events, needless grind instead of actual content, a severe lack of skills for every class, extremely lacking PvP, atrociously awful story, horrible class balance, broken events & numerous bugs everywhere…

I could go on, the game needs fixing but I doubt ANet will listen because they sure as hell haven’t for some time now, instead choosing to pump out more living story content that’s almost universally reviled despite a huge number of complaints posted on these forums the whole time.

Hmmm I see, and, for the celestial stats, I have the 2 rings and Karka earring, but celestial seems bad to me. And I have the soldiers fractal backpiece, fully infused :P But, going Hybrin with PVT armor and 5 berzerker accesories is a bad idea ?

Hey, I’ve been a D/D ele for quite some time now, but I still just can’t decide what accesories I should wear
Im wearing power toughness vitality armor (Soldier’s ) and 2 berserker daggers.
I have a weird combination of accesories atm, but I’m thinking of getting berserkers accesories. Anyone maybe got some ideas or can give me some insight on what to get :P? And, I got 6 Monk runes atm, should I maybe maximize Boon duration instead?

Hi guys, I can’t make up my mind on wether i should use rings like Lunaria and Solaria ( celestial stats) or not.
I have full power / toughness/ vitality armor, but can’t decide on the rings, and I use 2 berserker daggers. I just want to be balanced, so I t hink that celestial rings / amulet would be good for me.

What do you guys think?

Very nice kind, i just used it, with 1,65g i maxed cooking, forget about the little flaws xD It’s very nice!

It because that cultural armor has the shoulderpieces like inmplemented in the chest part, so, when u equip the chest, u also see the shoulders. That’s why you don’t see ur arah shoulders. But I don’t know 100% if it’s meant to be like this.
