Some endgame questions.

I’ve got a bit of an odd question because my mmo background consists of MMOs such as runescape and maplestory where the games don’t really end, per say, and most content is solo-able.

I like solo-ish content, I really like gw2’s personal story so far, pvp seems fun, and I enjoy exploring the map and doing world bosses. Are things like raids and dungeons necessary to enjoying gw2’s endgame? I’ve been thinking of purchasing the hot and pot bundle but I’m just worried that gw2 may not have enough content that I like at endgame. (I’m just speculating here because when I watched some videos on youtube and a ton of what’s mentioned is group content. Which is probably fine every now and again, but I certainly wouldn’t want to have to find a group every time I wanted to play a game.)

Also, considering living world season 1 isn’t available and I’d have to buy s2 separately from HOT, is there any sort of a recap that heart of thorns gives you to catch you up or does it expect you to watch a recap of s1 and buy s2?

Also, can things such as legendaries be acquired without raids/dungeons/fractals? :o

Sorry for my question dump. As I said, gw2 is extremely different from my other MMOs I play.

So I was wondering if the items that you get from the presents are worth keeping? I’m still new to this game and I’m having a visual overload with like 20 drinks and foods filling all my inventory spaces. Are these worth keeping, are they used for crafting or some other thing, or are they just festive fun items that I can sell to others?

I’m new to guild wars 2 and i’m looking for a guild that is very new player friendly- as i’m sure i’ll have questions as I figure this game out- and a place to relax and chirp in when i have something to contribute to the conversation. My mmo background consists of runescape and some maplestory(essentially games with no end game. XD) so I’m new to a lot of mmo tropes such as raids for instance.

I might be interested in some casual pvping, though I haven’t had the chance to try it yet.

I’m a quiet person for the most part because I have a speech impediment so I’d prefer to not need a voip program.

I suppose the only thing that I’m kinda picky about is that I’d like the guild to be somewhat restrictive with profanity.

Recommendation for a returning player?

I played guild wars 2 a little, but I don’t remember making it passed the 30s in level, and I remember almost nothing about how I had my class built, or if it would even be viable now. All I really remember was using a lot of elixirs and elixir gun/flamethrower.

I was wondering if anyone had any build recommendations for a returning player?

Thief questions?

I’m pretty new to GW2. I’m thinking of playing a thief as my new main. I tried the guardian recently and was put off that it wasn’t what I thought it would be.

I’m thinking of the thief as a character that is good at evasion and moving out of attack range. Is this the way the thief works and is it difficult in pve and pvp at later levels?

Also, what are some good pve builds for thieves?
