This is unacceptable. Anet removes mercenary amulet but does not restore Selfless-Potion to compensate. Shame. Shame. Repent. Repent. Now must complain/whine about other crap to compensate for lack of either of mentioned emoticons.

I had 3-5 duplicates of aetherblade weapon skins before wardrobe system was forced upon Tyria. I demand a full refund in gold at whatever the last known highest inflation price was (1000g each).

Selfless-Potion or we go to court. Kappa Keepo.

Anyone else out there who can’t queue unranked in PvP? For like 5 days now I haven’t been able to. When I click the queue button nothing happens.

I opened a ticket but I think the GM’s that were attempting to help me just gave up. The only time I can queue is if I’m with someone else who doesn’t have this problem.

When I switch to my EU account everything is fine.

The annoyance in this game comes from equal reward not being given for equal effort.

Spamming one or two buttons cannot be effective for any class in this game, because it discourages players to become better.

Why should I play the class that requires a ton of effort, when I can just play another class that spams one button and is still effective, and even multitask coffee sipping.

You can’t have two classes with similar roles have vastly different skill requirements, in regards to effective mechanical play, in a competitive environment.

For this game to not only be competitive, but fun, there needs to be EFFECTIVE counter-play to fighting anything a single player may come across.

Counter: “To move, act, or respond so as to be in opposition.”

This game needs to be all about counter-play. Anet needs to give every class appropriate tells to every ability of concern to other players.

All one-shot mechanics need to be removed or given proper tells/timings so that they may be avoided by other players.

An example of this is ‘backstab’ for thieves. Backstab is nearly instant and can one-shot, but the counter-play for this is that a thief requires stealth to backstab. So when a thief stealths, typically the other player knows that there is at least a 3-second window where they may in fact be backstabbed. This player has been given time to react to the thief stealthing, and may now prepare for the backstab.

The fresh-air burst on elementalist is almost another good example. The fresh-air trait has a 5-second cooldown, so after it’s used once, the other player know’s they have 5 more seconds before they have to worry about it again. The only problem here is that there is no requirement to use this ability at any time, meaning that good player will simply bait you’re dodges and force you to eat it every time. Against a good player, there really is no counter-play, except to eat/random dodge the burst and pressure them down before the next one.

An example of non-effective counter-play is spinal shivers on necromancers. Unavoidable damage is unacceptable. The only counter-play you have against spinal shivers is to stay above 50% health, or make sure you can get your heal off after it procs.

Anyway, I realize now that it would take a long time to type out all the fundamental issues in Guild Wars 2, concerning competitive PvP. All I want is for this game to be competitive.

I’ll continue to hearthstone when I que into turret engineers. I apologize in advance to all my future soloq homies, but it just isn’t worth the stress/effort involved to win or lose against someone you know is probably casually sipping their coffee.

1) My arguments for rotations are that turret engies theoretically have the worst rotation capability in the pvp scene and have horrible team fighting capabilities, so if turrets are bad in team fights and bad at rotating, then why ban them for ‘rotations’

The problem with turret engineers is that they are extremely effective at holding a point and locking down any players at whatever point they happen to on with little to no effort. In other words, a turret engineer is a bunker that can kill you if you fight it alone. This is to say that it normally takes at least two players to kill a single turret engineer.

Typically the strategy for countering a single turret engineer is to simply ignore them, and out-rotate them to the next point. However, if a team has two turret engineer, you are then forced to combat at least one of them.

If there are two turret engineers at two different nodes, your team has to dedicate nearly their whole team to knocking only 2 players off the map. Meanwhile our turret engineer comp. has an extra 2-3 players with unforced decisions.

The simple fact is that a turret engineer warrants too high a reward for the skill/effort/attention required to play it.

In fact the first day I tried turret engineer, even the first match, I literally 5v1’d the entire enemy team. Literally. I ran far, dropped turrets in the most annoying places possible (midair, on ledges, etc), hid behind a pole and watching them all die as they streamed in trying to res everyone as I constantly knocked them around. Before you knew it, everyone was on respawn, and I had apparently singlehandedly forced an easy 3-cap, and snowball for my pug team.

This is something I could never do on either of my other classes that I’ve had months of experience on. Yet all of a sudden I’m a master slayer with less than 5 minutes of experience on a turret engineer, with random traits I figured would get the job done.

This is the turret engineer issue.

Did not start getting this update problem until I used Kyllaa’s solution in attempt to fix a crashing problem. I reinstalled hoping it would fix the update problem, but with no luck. Now I’m stuck with constant crashing, and this update… You can see how these two problems don’t go together very well.

Sad to say, but after all this time playing this game and nothing being fixed, I think King Tyler may be right on this one.

Game crashes every 5 min, am I the only one?

Subsample works for the most part. I still crash in extremely large groups, like on tequatl and wvw with subsample.

But yeah like people have already said, it got way worse after culling update, but even before that update I would still crash in WvW. Rather annoyed right now cause I’ve crashed about 8 times trying to transfer all of these ascended mats from dungeons to different characters, which is the only reason I’m posting, because it’s literally that terrible.

I heard somewhere that mac beta client is like running gw2 on 32bit system, even if you’re using a 64bit system? Maybe that has something to do with it. But yeah, nothing new, pretty much the same thing everyone else has already said. Crash anywhere where there’s more than 20 people :P

Still crashing in large groups on mac! Now culling is gone and I crash after 5-10 minutes even in Lion’s Arch and Divinities Reach.

Same problem here. And I’m not using logitech anything. It just started for me after these recent builds. But apparently it doesn’t happen to everyone, because my friend tried the same skill swaping sequence I did and didn’t get this weird bug.

I’m on mac client just in case that has anything to do with… anything. Also 64bit version soon please!

Well this doesn’t really answer your question but it might help you make up your mind or something.

I haven’t tried Imbued Diversion because basically you have to choose between that and Illusionary Persona.

Imbued Diversion doesn’t even come close to being as useful, especially since the clones would have to walk up to the target in order to (hopefully) daze them.

Anyway that’s my opinion I guess.

I second this. If there is ANYTHING I miss about GW1 it’s the random 4v4. When you only have 30 minutes to burn, 4v4 was a good way to still have a ton of fun in a short time period.

Yes same problem and every mac user I’ve talked to about it has this issue. I’m kind of PvE’d out and would like to try WvW now! lol
