If they claim to know your DPS or gear, report with extreme prejudice.
But which option communicates this best?
none of botting, bad character name, spam, verbal abuse, selling gold, or LFG abuse really fits..
One of my favourite parts of Gw2 was that addons and dps meters we not permissible in this game. I’ve recently returned from a year and a half hiatus from GW2 and every time I join a group now i’m told i’m not doing ‘max dps’ and then I get kicked. My issue is, we’re not doing raids, we’re doing basic dungeons and fractals which I was clearing with 0 issue long before I took a break. This new attitude that has come with DPS meters is utterly toxic and despicable. The fact that I’ve been kicked, and watched others get kicked, in the middle of runs or boss fights as well is just not okay. There’s also no appropriate report option for this either.
It was always my understanding that using addons was a bannable offence or at least in a serious grey area. Why would I want to risk my account just to find out what my dps is? What changed? When did this happen? and what are the clear cut rules about which of these rogue programs am I allowed to install so I can keep up and not get kicked from groups?
Hi just wanted to ask a clarifying question. I’m returning from a long break from the game. Can this ascended pvp armor be used in PVE and are the range of stats options the same? or is this armor restricted to use in pvp only?
For ages now, everyone always says use D/D . . .

Ok lets do the maths:
Direct damage.
1) In scepter you have 2 damage auto attacks: the water (wich is completely useless as your water element is a defensive attunement) and the air auto attack.
Air auto attack in scepter:
- no amulet, i take the damage base from Build editor.
—> 96 + 192 + 384 = 672 every 3,50 sec.2) In dagger, you can use water, fire and air auto attacks ( water is useless because is your defensive element).
Air auto attack in dagger main hand:
- no amulet, i have taked the damage base from Build editor.
—> 448 every 0.50 sec.Fire auto attack in dagger main hand:
- no amulet, i take damage base from Build editor.
—> 3*133 (one per projectile) = 399 every 0.50 sec.==> Conclusion: you have a damage of 192/sec in scepter. You have a 896/sec or 798/sec in dagger.
==> dagger main hand > scepter on direct damage.
I am not taking count of the conditions damage because we all know how powerfull the dagger main hand is (ring of fire, dragons breath, fire dash,… ) compare to the scepter. So, if we take the codition damages in the equation, the results will be something like:
Dagger >>> Scepter.
The reason is actually really simple ( condition damages pass through the toughness )
To balance the scepter annet should try to put some powerfull autto attacks on it. But i think that Arena net prefers the conctact mage ^^
This is exactly what I was looking for, thanks. So I guess my follow up to this is, why is S/F considered an acceptable kit compared to D/F?

That can’t be the only reason? I would imagine the other skills more than make up for it.
For ages now, everyone always says use D/D, use D/D its best. I just don’t see it. I feel like S/D is the best combo for offensive? you get range, mobility, good burst. I just don’t understand the argument that d/d is better.

1) what do you think of using the vamp signet as a heal? I find the CD on consume conditions just ruins it for me now
2) I find myself considerably more squishy than I used to be, I’m not sure if this is a result of the game changes to necros or the game changes to other professions, what do you think about running spectral armor for some additional staying power?

Is pure zerker acceptable in high level fractals? so even though engi benefits tremendously from + condition dmg, i’m to ignore it entirely? What it, say I do want to WvW on it a bit, still zerker or would I need an alternative gear set?
hey everyone so I have a couple questions to things I couldn’t figure out or decide on my own. So, I main an ele and just hit 80 on my engi alt. I’ve decided im going to play a grenadier style engineer and I have some questions about build and gear. After reading both threads on here and guildwars2guru I would like to know the following:
1) how do I decide which two to pick between incendiary powder, explosive powder and shrapnel? (my inclination is explosive + incendiary due to sharpshooter in the next trait line)
2) Does steel-packed powder apply vulnerability 100% of the time? If so, is it still worth picking up precise sights for additional vuln stacking or is it a waste/redundant?
3) Is 25 in alchemy worth taking even though i’m not actively seeking a dedicated boon-stacking build?
4) I’ve gathered that these 55 points seem to be discussed as ‘essential’ for this type of build, i’m not 100% certain where I aught to spend the rest http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-V;9;9;9;0T4-J;1A;58;9;9FY That being said I assume answers to both the proceding and following questions will shed light on that, but any suggestions are welcome.
4) What on earth kind of gear do I use? Every thread i’ve read on this build/topic seems divided but FEW people seem to offer much in the way of evidence when they stake their claim. Is there any math/evidence that suggests one method of gearing is superior to the other? – Now for further clarification, I am interested in PVE ONLY. So fractals, dungeons, world bosses etc. I don’t know if full zerker, full rabid or full rampagers is the way to go, or even some blend of any two.
My present, personal, inclination is to go full rampager gear, zerker weapons with with rabid jewlery and engi runes I feel like it give me the best blend of stats without completely neglecting one for the other. – That being said I am 100000% open to advice, evidence etc. (http://intothemists.com/calc/?build=-V;9;9;9;0TJ-J;1B-8;38;9-3H7W3H7WQ-FgNL;5M-hWn1rYxZ259eWPk0R;9;9;7FFFFFFM)
I doubt it was real working key generator anyways. 99% of those youtube videos are just scams that try to get gullible kids to download trojans.
After all you’re not gonna create a video and ask folks to download your virus are you? No, you’ll call it something like a “Super Awesome Key/Gold/Pin Generators!!!”
I’ve never seen an actual “key generator” yet. They are ALL keyloggers or other forms of malware designed to steal your account. Every. Single. One.
Are you talking about for GW2 specifically? Because they certainly do exist for other games, or did in the early days of cd keys
I actually wasn’t talking about you, but about said thread. In 24 hours, that thread generated more dev comments and actual balance changes than the entire Necromancer subforum has in a year. THAT is what I am disgusted by.
Please understand that my job is to make sure the feedback of the sPvP players is properly communicated back to the company (note my title). The reason why I communicated in that thread was because that is my job. We have other community coordinators that are focused on other parts of the game.
The reason why I focused my communication in that thread is because it was loaded with constructive feedback, which should always be promoted. No, it was most definitely NOT the only thread about Necromancers. Also, it was NOT the only thread that I posted in regarding the Necro changes and feedback.
Now, with that in mind; This was a change that was SPLIT between PvP and PvE. The change ONLY happened for PvPers, and it was a quick turnaround due to the fact that the tournament was starting this weekend.
This does NOT mean that we ignore the Necromancer forums. This does NOT mean we don’t make changes that benefit PvE. This does NOT mean we don’t have hotfixes specifically to help PvE players.
Appreciate your feedback, but many of the things you are claiming are simply not true.
What bothers me most of all is that these changes were seemingly made based on the feedback and personal experiences of the vocal users of the sPvP forum as opposed to being made based on empirical data and evidence collected by the anet balance team.
I feel like we may as well just all roll guardians, mesmers, thieves or warriors. The only classes that they seem to care about in this game.
I’ve played Necro and Ele since day 1.
Honestly, after playing post patch, I don’t think the nerfs were too severe and I think condition necros are fine the way they are now. Power necros, on the other hand, I think do too much dmg, I feel like perhaps a nerf to the axe GM trait would bring things in line a little bit more.
And I agree with what’s being said, A good warrior, thief, engi or mesmer can easssily dismantle a good necro. The only classes I don’t find I ever have ‘trouble’ with are elementalists. But perhaps that’s because I play one and know how to fight effectively vs one

I’ve experienced this delay as well and its gotten me killed a few times. My skills (6 and onward) don’t show up and are inaccessible for a few seconds meaning I can’t heal or pop a cooldown.
Why is there no amulet with ‘knights’ stats on it? Power/toughness/precision?
Necro is my fav class to play in WvW. Heavy conditions build + epidemic = chaos.
I was being completely sarcastic Robert.
There are other games I have played where I would kill a boss 20-30 times and not get the specific item I wanted, and I would just have to keep at it and hope I got lucky. I much prefer the system we have right now.
This is why I also love the current system, World of Warcraft drove me up the wall because of this. I hated doing the same content over and over and over again only to never see items I need/want drop.
All built up etc, and we have our namesake, our guild, as a community, has been gaming together for over just short of a decade so we’d rather 1) stick together in our current iteration and 2) keep our namesake etc.
So, a little over a month ago now our current guild leader quit the game. Not only did he quit but he uninstalled the game without passing on guild leader to another officer who still plays. I’ve contacted support twice now and both times they’ve said ‘we can’t do anything about it.’
What are we then to do? I was told to make a suggestion/request on this forum that it be possible for support staff to intervene upon request and reassign guild leader to one of, or the next, highest ranking officers in the guild after an extensive period of time has passed such that it is reasonable to assume the delinquent guild leader will not be returning anytime soon.
I would love an official response and a complete explanation as to why such a thing is presently impossible. I’m sure our guild is not the first to experience such a situation nor will we be the last. World of Warcraft had a similar policy in place to the one that I suggested, can something along the same lines not be implemented into GW2?
