Totally agree!
There are games that are too easy and there are games that are too hard. Either extreme make me loose interest quickly.
HoT is TOO HARD! it feel like a chore. For instance, the chapter 8 city of hope is TOO HARD (remove healing skills, and every combat becomes difficult, is so stupid!). It make me want to quit the game. It discourage me to replay HoT because of that stupid unoriginal part, because for the 2nd time I’m stuck at this part again. Where is the casual play you we’re talking about? If a part is TOO HARD and I have to restart over and over and over again because I just keep dying, it’s not fun anymore.
I have a guild member who doesn’t even have unlocked the gliding mastery yet, because she’s a casual player who just want to have fun and relax. What is fun and relaxing when you die every 2 sec? She has absolutely no fun going in the jungle, which is sad because gliding is one of the best feature of HoT.
So overall it’s not a fun expansion, it’s more of a pain in the kitten ., that’s what it is.
To hard????.. Say what.. I think it is pretty easy that is for sure. I had to google up city of hope to se what it was. Had forgive that part, maybe because that was like easy in my opinion. The only hard thing in the story was the last instance only because of all the bugs.. Sometimes and i mean it, it is learn to play. You can go full zerk if you want. But if you die alot, maybe change to something else or change traits and utilitys. Learn to use all skills, learn to dodge. Not that hard. The game
Is not About Finding the best build and stick with it.. Sometimes you must change traits or utilitys for the situation your are in.

What will save this game in next expansion:
- New weapon types
- New races
- New continent (at least 12 maps)
- Events similar to SW (no HoT events)
- Better rewards (not just blue items)
- Mounts as cosmetics
- Capes (no more wings)
- at least 36 new armor skins (12 for each class)
- better wvw
- 2v2, 5v5 10v10 arena system
- pvp armors and rewards
- 6 new dungeons with 3 path each
- 2 new raids
- new and better crafting (fishing, treasure hunting, archeology or something…)
- rare monsters with rare drops
- new fractals
- new elite specs
- no gating and no “we will nerf this so you must play that attitude”
… and that my friends is worth 60$
Some of the thinks like more raids, new fractals. We are gonna get with in HoT exp life. When we get new exp, Then can we look at what HoT was giving use. Now it is to earlly. The do not give everything right away and Then. 1-2 years of nothing. Look at for example wow exp. They do not give everything right away either. And look how long it takes to get new stuff in wow. Anet uppdating and giving new stuff outclass Like Every other mmo.

Yes, i understand. What i mean is that you obviously didn’t read all the other posts, where reasons for player disatisfaction are presented in depth. So, basically, you don’t know what people are talking about because you were not interested to find out in the first place.
Did you even read my post?.. Feels like you like read the first thing i wrote ans did not read anything else. Because if you read more you can see that i cant se how people se this game not causal friendly. You get ascended rings and stuff like that more like for no Effort at all (with laruals login rewards) or you can get Them faster by doing fractal dailys like adept (no agony needed). Takes no time at all and guild missions. There you go minimum req for raid. When core gw2 was new, people complain that is was to easy to get exotic gear. So they gave us ascended gear. Make ascended gear more easy to get would make Them go back to square one. Pvp (not WvW) is even more casual friendly because you do not need to grind for gear. Everyone is on even playingfield. That people need to do is just practics and get better. WvW is in limbo right now, nothing to say there. HoT. Mastery is a new way to lvl your character. See it like this. Core story needed lvl req. HoT story do samething but with mastery instead. The timers for the event in hot is samething as big world Bosses timers. Do people complain About that, not what i can see.

I have not read all 22 pages.. But everytime i wonder what people are Talking About. No more causal friendly???.. I mean gw2 is casual friendly and is gonna always be.. It take longer to achi your goal if you are a casual Then hardcore. That is fact. You play less Then a hardcore player. The logic speaks. If you want something right away that is not design for to get right away, ofcoruse is gonna be grindy. Logic speaks there to. Sometimes time Gates like daily on ascended crafting and daily fractal, legendary. (Paper thing) make that hardcore player cant get a edge on casual because they play more. Hardcore player cant progress further because time gate. Causal cant progress further because they dont have the time to play (but still have time to do the daily on the time gate). I am casual that IT for sure. Sometimes i just do fractal dailys. Like adept and veteran (cant do champ because dont have enough agony) i do the recommended on adept and veteran to. On like 30-40min i make 8 to 10 gold. Then i am Done for that day because i dont have time to play more. Sometimes i am looking on the event timer on guildwars 2 wiki and see what i can do on the time limit i have, sometimes i can do big meta events, sometimes i cant. The gear req for stuff is full exotic, take zero time to get. You can raid full exotic but recommended is everything ascended except the armor. (Take sometime if you buy everything with laurels but you can do fractals and guild missions and stuff like that to and same time, start craft ascended weapon or hope for drop in fractals and or world Bosses.) everything you do give you exp. So at the same time you do all that, you Also lvl your mastery in the background. If you want everything right away ofcoruse is not casual friendly and feel grindy. Logic speaks. The game is not design to get everything in a week, even core gw2 have that design.. If you look at other mmos. Gw2s “hardcore stuff” is like casual stuff compare to other mmos.

I play P/D. Most for singel target. Bleeds and vunarbility. I use shortbow 2. For AoE and other stuff. Shortbow is my third weapon. Some i swap in before fights. I have full dire gear i have like 20k hp. I think that is good. I am gonna test the traits and utility changes. Thanks for that.

this is my build
i have shortbow but i only use it when i need to travel fast or when it is AoE damage that is needed.
anyway i need to help to polish it. my goal is to have 2000 condi dmg and 2000 toughness. when i use food buffs utility buffs. but not any other buffs. i can take awake 2 defensiv agony for 2 offensive agony. change food buff, maybe change runes. but i like my krait runes. Should i go with rune of the undead?
if somebody have some suggestion to change something pls tell me. I do not want any to say go full berseker or you have to muth toughness… something like that. i use my build most for open world pve and solo stuff. i do some fractals to.

I go to the forum to look for suggestion for my build or read intresting stuff. But all i can see is complains. The forum is poison with complains that most of time make no sense at all. For example the content is to hard. No is not, i have overaggro mobs, i hade like 2 or 3 veterans on me and other mobs at the same time. I was like “i am gonna die now”, use all my skills, move around alot, dodge, use range ability and i did it, kill Them all. I have started to wonder if people really suck at this game, or they dont care or they want everything on a silverplate and dont wanna work for it. Maybe they are so use to the Faceroll the core game have that they never learn to play. I mean this “hard content” is more like “normal content” in other mmos. I am use to tactics and aggro management and other stuff so this content is something that i really enjoy. I mean thank god is not Faceroll anymore

You cant nerf somethings just because that cause a bug on something else.. Fix the bug, Then if it still broken, most of the case is not, Then nerf.

What are the strengths of a hybrid d/d build then? Why should I choose it over a power d/d build?
i dont know about the strenght but i would say you choose the build you like and fun to play. if people wants to play melee condition and for them is fun to play that, then it is d/d some is the way. but if you take away that option. the melee thief is gonna be just power thief. For me Gw2 is a game that you have alot of option and every build has pros and cons, but other builds are not bad just because one specific build is “meta”. so if Anet take away death blossom, they alos take away option you can do with your thief and that is not the way to go.
Why can’t they just put DD as the p/d DW skill then? That’s a proper condi setup without most of your skills being power-based. IF you want to play ‘melee’ condi, all you’re gonna do is basically caltrops+evadetrops+3333333333 with some auto attacks mixed in. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t seem like a fun build and I don’t think Anet went ‘yep, this is perfect, you just spam 3, so much fun’.
but if you take in DB in p/D you take away shadow strike and that skill is really good in p/d. should you take that in d/d. nope you cant, because you cant shoot one with just daggers. as i see it, you must take away DB completly if you dont wanna mess with other weapon setups..
But to spam Pistol whip is not fun either and not the thing Anet wants it.

i agree that pistol whip do more damage then death blossom in some way. but death blossom is not usless and it is one of the important skills in condition builds, when you are in melee fights. (for example: you can stack bleeds fast).
The problem with it is that you need a build strong in condition
damage to make it good and while you do that, you make the #1, #2 and #5 of the weaponset a lot weaker.
they are weaker yes, but they are still usefull. for exampel in pve, you attack stuff that cant bleed, then the other attacks are more usefull.
Stun interrupts. It is not just about damage
ok Pistol whip stun, but that dont change that i think S/P Pistol whip playstyle is boring.
Right, lets go to calculations. No buffs, no stacks.
Single pistol whip does 12-13 k damage on lvl 80 mob. Auto attack chain does roughly the same, in almost same time frame (Pistol whip has 2.2s cast time according to wiki and auto attack chain takes pretty much the same for bare eye). So 12k/2.2 = 5454 dps. Honestly… reason to use pistolwhip is stun, higher number of cleaved targets, signet of malice proc and evade, not much higher dps.Single bleed stack does 120 dps with around 1500 condition damage. 25 stacks of bleed would do 120*25=3000 dps. Single death blossom+auto attack chain (which cant cleave so in aoe situation it would drop dps, but lets assume it cleaves) in carrion gear would do 450(db) + 2500(aa including 3 seconds of poison from last aa chain) damage in roughly 3s time so( 2500 + 450)/3 = about 1000 dps and you can use death blossom every 3s at most (1ini regen every 1s, lets include any ini regen traits u might have, allthough every other deathblossom you would have to follow with 2 auto attack chains to regen initiative) for sustained dps. So we have 3000 dps from 25stacks of bleed and 1000 dps from physical damage and poison = 4000 dps. Now that would happen only if you could keep 25 stacks of bleed constantly which u can’t. In reality you can keep around 10 stacks of bleeds while bumping up to 18-20 very briefly with caltrops (25 maybe if you go balls deep in DB spam, but then u get initiative starved), so your 3k dps from bleeds is actually more like 1500 dps what drops total dps to 2500. You can pick any gear any build, be it full berserker, hybrid celestial or full condi carion, rabid, even rampager with all its precision and no crit power (not even mentioning dire, cause that would decrease physical part of damage even more), none of that would come even close to what aoe damage full berserker S/P can pump out.
If we would take into account grp damage where vulnerability comes into play, damage gap would be even wider.
Conclusion: Death blossom is kitten poor excuse of aoe skill, same as d/d is a kitten poor excuse of aoe weapon set. If you are running D/D and know that you will have to aoe (and you will have to aoe pretty much everywhere), bring real aoe weapon as secondary.

it is more or less pure condition but i have traits in Deadly arts. with this build Deadly Blossom is amazing. i use DB in melee combat and i use p/d when i need to go in range and kite the mob or something.

What makes a condi setup? Why is p/d used for conditions? It only adds 2 stacks of torment as an extra condition. The usage of torment is meant more as a cover then a source of damage. Most condi builds still rely on bleeds.
A D/d set can get cover conditions . You can still get torment via p/d as the second weapon set. You can get it via a venom. You can get covers via your steals and trait for weakness and the like. What logic dictates that d/d can not be part of a condition build because one of its abilities gives 3 stacks of bleeds that last ten seconds?
The advantage p/d has is not “more conditions”. It is the ability to fight at ranged.
Why does a p/d condi build use C and D? That is expensive in INI points yet it a focal point of the build. They are not getting a whole lot of damage off C and D.
They do this to stealth so they can launch “sneak attack” sneak attack loads on 5 stacks of 4 second bleeds. It requires one get to melee range in order to use it. This costs more ini then does a death blossom.
Why is sneak attack preferable for laying down bleeds over DB?
DB is 4 ini to get 3 stacks of bleeds that last 10 seconds on multiple targets. It pretty hard to “miss”.
Sneak attack is 6 ini to get 5 stacks of bleed that last 4 seconds on one target. It easier to miss the cloak.
I suggest you burn less ini using DB if the goal is bleed stacks.

Dont take my Death Blossom away. that skill is godly in condition build. stack bleed like crazy. like babazhook.6805 sayed it is great condition builder.
i have linked wrong GW 1 account to my GW 2 account, i wonder if that can be fixed. i mean the gw 1 account i merge when i created my gw 2 dosent exist, or have any gw 1 games on it..
