I do not frequent the forums often, so I do not know whether this has been posted before. I am a frequent WvW player and often buy wvw gear as I switch around my gears and stats quite often. Using Transmutation crystals was alright and affordable.
However after the wardrobe patch, the only way to get my Traveler runes or Bloodlust sigils out of my items is to purchase the ridiculously priced Upgrade Extractors (5 for 1100gems which is 105g or 21g each) and you need 6 just to get a rune set out of a set of armor. I think economically no one would use Upgrade Extractors at all.
(Traveler Runes 6-8g each)
(Bloodlust sigil 8-10g each)
The only way clear wvw gear is to destroy it since you can’t throw it into the Mystic Toilet or Vendor it or Salvage it, making WvW gear a lot less appealing and viable in some ways. But mainly, it is just a very inefficient and confusing concept. I feel that many, including myself, have been frustrated over this issue at times
I would propose to either
1. Make WvW gear salvage-able like normal gears, but perhaps adjust the prices up to better reflect it’s true economic value and to prevent opportunistic behaviour. (You can farm dungeon weapons and salvage them for parts, so I don’t see why WvW gears can’t.)

2. Lower the extractor costs, no one economically sound will use that. Make it an economically-Viable option.

I’m sure this problem is probably just an overlooked issue from the wonderful wardrobe update, and I do sincerely wish that the staff from ArenaNet would find this agree-able and make some changes.
