Sigrid Stormblade, nee Earunsdottir, is my current Norn… Sigrid “Halfblade” if you want to mock her (and by extension die)! She’s a female Norn Ranger, only recently had her mother’s greatsword reforged (got cut in half by her rival at a recent moot) and is clamoring to regain some of her lost glory. By killing a giant earthworm made of ice and spikes. Yeah.
Also: Freya Earunsdottir, Sigrid’s youngest sister. I could go on and on (I’m an RPer, I gave her a family and a backstory, so sue me ;3)
And now (sorry for the triple names, you only have to rate one if you don’t want to do them all though!) Maddi Fairtongue, Sigrid’s older sister, second-oldest of their family. Apprentice Skaald (so basically a Guardian ;3), who uses a sword and focus.
Does anybody know when New Zones will be added? I pretty sure ‘The Lost Shores’ added the latest zone (Not counting Temp content or dungeons) correct me if I’m wrong.
We had capes in DAoC and it looked great for It’s time and caused no real lag. We have much better CPU’S these days.
Not sure why not besides clipping which already happens, so what?
Just because we already have some clipping issue it doesn’t mean we should add more.
The problem with capes is the Charr. They run on all four, which apparently created huge amount of clipping, and it didn’t look good (according to ArenaNet)
I think the only way to add capes to the game is to set a race limit on them, leaving the Charr out. I don’t know if Charr players would like this.
Or have the option to make the Charr walk on 2 feet when using a cape, this will require animation work but can be done.
No lol they won’t bring back dual professions. The best we’ll get is maybe a new weapon set or two in 2015 at best considering the snails pace the game is moving at right now.
I don’t believe for one second the balance argument holds ground for more skills because GW2 is not even balanced, although that’s not a skill problem but rather everything except zerker is sub-par and weak scaling, slightly different story in pvp.
As far as I see it’s being updated more then most other MMO’s such as WoW (Not counting their expansions) And the content we are getting is free.
Will this be like GW2LFG site or will it be more like WoW LFG?
I do prefer GW2LFG site over the WoW one, WoW one puts you into unreasonable que times and is quite annoying.
ArenaNet said (I think…) that balancing something like cross-profession is really a challenge. Original Guild Wars had over a thousand skills to balance, and that is why they went with the more simple approach in Guild Wars 2 since it’s a lot more easier to balance.
I don’t think we will see cross-profession in this game. However, we might see more utility skills, and more weapons in the future.
I’d like to see more weapon types like dual-bladed sword/greatsword or cannon (Not sure if cannon is already in the game)
I’d like to see this but I thing they’d have to be similar.. Like Guardian/Warrior Mesmer/Elementalist and etc.
Edit: I don’t think we’ll be seeing it anytime soon though, would have quite the impact also, it’d be cool if they’d be seperated by 20 levels or so.. So if you level 80 Guardian side hit 80 your Warrior would be level 60 and so on.
Hello, I’m having a bug with tele’ing to dungeons. I’m in the area dungeon and the Pop-up normally pops up and says your group is in dungeon…. I click join and nothing happens? I went to Char Selection, changed area and even restarted the game.
I’m planning to power-level a character 1-80 through crafting (or is it 1-70? Not sure) what’s a updated guide on all crafting styles and will be updated as times goes on?
I know they can’t everyone happy but it’s a one time event, and according to a time converter I used, the time is 7am in the morning? I rarely wake up and such a ungodly hour!
If you see nothing on the map then it would be safe to assume there isn’t a commander on your map at that time. It’s a fairly noticeable blue dot on the mini map regardless of their location it will at least show up in the general direction they reside.
I see them on the mini map. Not on the large map though.
So what you’re asking for is a linear quest-based grinder? That’s one of the things GW2 was trying not to be…
If you think the core content delivery system of the game is a ‘big time waster’ you might be playing the wrong game. /shrug
I’m not asking for linear-ness I’m asking for more story content that levels you to the next one, is that simply too much to ask for?
Or add a fun reliable way to level, such as dungeons for lower level players!
I recently just finished the level 11 charr story quest. After it was completed they told me to level another “3” more levels just to continue it?
Why do they do this? I can’t see why they don’t just throw in some quests that don’t even have decent story to fill that hole?
They’re forcing gathering, crafting and dynamic/heart things on me.
Thing is atleast maybe WvWvW Xp gain semi-decent.
I hate walking around looking for vista’s or dynamic content! It’s just a big time waster.
Edit: And what makes it worse is the lack of players in the content if a fresh players jump in. Most dyanamic events require a group, I can’t even find some players to help me, and when I do. They never, ever help!
What does your ping depend on exactly? On most MMO’s I play on the most populated servers with no lag. Since this was a high graphics game I thought it was different. (Can’t run the game with maxed out settings.)
If I transfer to a American Server? Europe is closer to my location the US is but will the lag be a high amount on barely a difference? my internet is like 15mbps and upload is like .25-2mbps
Hmmm. Well I don’t know what Australian Victoria Hours would be, but my guess would be a server with decent Asiatic presence… Chinese/Korean/Japanese. I don’t know much about other servers, but Stormbluff Isle has a few Korean Guilds on it.

Are they mostly english speakers? Is the WvWvW empty at times? In my server it’s pretty hard to find players. Even thought it’s high pop, when I do though… They don’t reply to anything I say?
And here I was remembering someone say in some video that random drops are bad and not what they wanted for their game. The reasoning was something like “it’s no fun to grind an instance and hope for that drop and have some players be lucky and others not, resulting in needless grind and frustration.” Or something like that.
If anyone remembers who that was and which game still offers this, I’ll buy it immediately and even spend money on in-game-shops.

Does anyone know any really high populated servers? (Even in the 1-15 areas zones) And highly populated in Australian Vic Hours. I’m in a “High” Pop server though there aren’t much players?
There are a ton of nice events that I just can’t solo and it’s a shame really, I can’t get a decent amount of XP.
Forum Mods have said in the past that all 3rd party mods are illegal, however this is not the case. As Gaile Gray, a dev at Arena Net explains here. Its not that they dont approve of mods, its that they dont have the time and resources to approve of each specific mod, and dont want to be held responsible if a mod has malicious code and something goes wrong.
Mods are not allowed if they alter game files, or automate any action. Combat Mode does neither of these, it just alters the keys your mouse sends to the game client, and every click performs a 1:1 action in game. Mods that give the user and advantage are also illegal, but as many have pointed out, Combat Mode gives a slight disadvantage if anything, as you cant put Ground target abilities out of LoS or directly behind your character.
That’s AN’s official and highest authority response on the matter. If you’re not comfortable using CM for any reason, DO NOT USE IT.

If I had to remove it I would I just need to know. Also I don’t understand why it should be a bannable offense. All I use it for is to my skill 1 on my left mouse button and roll on my right mouse key.

This isn’t banable, I’ve been using macro mouse commands for years in GW1, and since beta in GW2.
If you make a whole macro command that enables your character to kill / farm things without requiring any input from you while you AFK, that is bannable.

Would I be able to reach level 80 before an expansion hits? In games like WoW I’m usually too late and get caught behind, probably because of the lame and tedious leveling process.
Open up your Hero Panel (H), on the middle top (just above the Headgear), there should be an icon for Dyes.
Click it and the colors available to you is on the left side. Click on the color, mouse would change to something like a paintbrush and click on the little colored square/s just below each gear icon. It will tell you what part of the gear will be changed in color.
