Dont know why but I couldn’t put all of them in the same post.

I realy don’t know what to do, I’m been trading emails with Arena Net, all they said is to stop my background programs, wich didn’t fix a thing.
I sent them all my crash reports, Hijack This Log and Game Advisor Log since I have windows 8.1.
I’m going to leave the same thing here, if anybody wants to check it out, thank you.

Seems that there is no hope for me, just got another corrupt file.
I’m realy starting to think that there is something wrong with my hardware, despite all the tests I did and no errors popped up.
Maybe it’s my memories, memtests didn’t accuse any error though.
But I don’t think both of my drives would be messed up, and that happens when I have the game installed in both of them.
My CPU accuses no errors too.
I’m inclined to say it’s my memories, because I have 8GB, 4GBx2, and both the modules are from different brands, maybe that’s the problem, I don’t know.
But it looks like I’ll have to spend money on this again.
nvd3dum.dll is an error with your Nvidia driver.
Go into your device manager in windows, roll the driver back to it’s previous version, and then update again to the recommended driver.
See if that helps.
I will, thank you.
I spent a bunch of hours on gw2 today, after that crash, no more happened.
Played smoothly, and after I exited, I opened the game again, to see if I had to repair, and I didn’t.
Before it always asked me to repair, even if the game didn’t crash.
Now it didn’t.
That seems to be fixed, thanks for all your help with that.
I’ll try that with the Nvidia driver and let you know what happens.
Yay! I’m so glad it worked! Must have been a corrupt windows file from Windows 8, perhaps? I’m glad you’re able to play now!
Thank you for your help, I am able to play, yes.
The game crashed on me twice, but it didn’t ask me to repair.
I went to the appdata folder for Guild Wars 2, it was full of corrupted files there before, now there are none, there’s only Local.dat file and some text file called “ArenaNet”.
It was full of corrupted things before.
The text file does mention some errors, can you check it out and see if you understand it ?

Ok, after almost 2 days with with windows 8.1, I still didn’t need to repair my client.
Only had one problem, when I was doing Claw of Jormag, my game froze, that was the only thing that happened to me so far since I have Windows 8.1.
Most people I know in-game, when I talk to them about this, they say they never had a problem with Guild Wars 2, only like 2 people I met yesterday, said their game crashed everytime they closed it, but it never asked for them to repair.
And then there are people likeus, that the game becomes unplayable at some point, with constant crashes and repairs that don’t repair a thing.
I’m updating to windows 8.1, will try out in that version.
So annoying, right ?
Have had this problem since I started playing this games months ago, tried multiple ways to fix it, still no luck.
There is only Windows 8.1, a friend told me to install it, as it’s more stable.
There isn’t service pack for windows 8, no.
At least it’s a step in the right direction?
Maybe so, I realy wanted to fix this.
I think it’s some hardware trouble, or BIOS settings.
But I did memtest, no errors.
Stress tested my CPU with intel provided software, no errors, 40ºC below max temp.
All temperatures are realy good.
Tested my HDD and SSD, no errors.
I realy don’t know what the problem may be.
I know this never happened to me before with any other game, that’s for sure.
Have around 100+ hours in Skyrim and it never crashed and a lot of other games never crashed for me.
(edited by FerumPT.7204)
The good thing was that it didn’t ask me to repair the client this time.
Why did I speak ? The game just crashed.
Now I got a different error report:
- Crash <—*

I sent a ticket to arenanet, they told me turn off all services except for windows and to turn off all applications initiating along with OS.
I did so, so far around 3 hours of game time without crashing.
I don’t think upgrading to 8.1 would help, since you said it used to happen with Windows 7 as well, but you may want to see if a new Service Pack for your version of Windows is available. You seem to have a lot of Windows related errors in your log. (mmc.exe and flash player are showing up for some reason as “the signature problem”?) Sometimes windows will update known errors with their dll files and programs. This could help with the crashing.
I just checked for windows updates, none popped up.
The problem may lie with how full is the OP’s SSD, there may not be enough room for the Windows Swap file. Move the swap file to a second hard drive or free up some space on the SSD.
I have 68.1GB free on my SSD, isn’t that enough ? :s
I know, I’m sorry, trying to help you figure this out without doing anything major. I really don’t want you to mess with your memory unless as a last resort.
add the following line to the Windows\system 32\drivers….hosts file:
174.35.56.164 assetcdn.101.arenanetworks.com
This will only work if the access denied error is in relation to your internet connection, however. Still, it’s quick and worth a short before doing some of the more lengthy suggestions.
I am thinking, however, it still comes back around to a dll error and you need to safely uninstall and then do a fresh installation of the game. I’ll go take another look at your error report and see if there is anything I missed. There is a LOT to read there!
I tried changing the hosts file, but it doesn’t allow me
You think maybe I should upgrade to windows 8.1 ?

And I realy appreciate your help.
The problem is, I have unnistalled the game and installed again dozens of times, I lost count.
Same with windows, the same thing keeps happening.
In the last couple of days I installed the again 3 times already hoping to fix it in some way.
c0000005 can also mean “access denied”, apparently. Are you running the game as admin?
Yes, been running as admin since a friend told me.
I realy have no clue what’s wrong :/
I’d adjust the memory as a last resort. Try the uninstall, reboot, and clean install first. See if that works before messing with the memory.
You have an OS on your SSD, yes? Check and see what’s coming up under Control Panel<System. How many GB of RAM is it reporting the PC has?
Memory Installed: 8GB
I’d adjust the memory as a last resort. Try the uninstall, reboot, and clean install first. See if that works before messing with the memory.
But how do I adjust that ?
Silverstarre, I did all that you told me.
And my game just crashed again, got this report:

Flags: 0How much memory do you have allotted to your SSD? C0000005 errors are usual a windows system related error. In this case, it’s a potential error with your memory? Adjust the memory by taking it down a notch and see if the game will run.
How do I see how much memory I have allotted to my SSD and how do I change it ?
The game is running, for now.
Been working fine for about 30 minutes, but always happens, crashed, then works for a different ammount of time, and then crashes again.

I didn’t jave any antivirus installed when this problem started.
I have installed it on my HDD before, same thing happened.
I went to AppData folder\Roaming\Guild Wars 2, found Local.dat there, and there are a lot of files.
For example Corrupt-daceda19.dat, Have a lot of thoses called corrupt……
And have another one called Corrupted Archive, a test file, and in there I find things like:
Reason: 1
FileId: 0×000cc07b (0)
TotalBytes: 736624
BlockOffset: 720896
BlockBytes: 65536
DecodeOffset: 0
DecodeBytes: 0
ReadOffset: 0
ReadLength: 736624
Xid: 2-0×439c42db
Oh, and I went to Documents\Guild Wars 2, and there is no Local.dat file, only a Screenshot folder.
I did that on my SSD, where my game is installed, the check took less than 1 minute, and detected no errors, is that normal ?
I avoided updating the BIOS until now, I was told never to, I have Windows 8, When I installed Windows 8.1 I got a lot of imcompatibility issues, so I went back to 8 pro.

I checked everything, only a bluetooth driver needed update.
The only thing I never update was my BIOS, can that be a problem ? Should I update it ?
I’m sure my drivers are all up to date, but is there a good program to check that to be sure ?
I did run Game Advisor, and then read the report, or tried to at least, didn’t see anything related to a .dll error.
Just bumping this up, and adding something.
Sometimes I notice, that when the game crashes, things start to render as pink, like a table or mountains, they look pink until I repair the client.
Would appreciate a response, thank you
I used to have windows 7, and sometimes when the game crashed when I opened it up again it would ask me to repair my client because it detected an error the last time it ran. Sometimes it would even happen when I closed my game normally, then come back and be asked to repair it.
Now I have Windows 8 and it keeps happening.
I have it installed in a in C:\Games, don’t have it in the Program Files folder like it’s recommended not to.
Anyone know what can be the problem ?
Maybe my hardware, I have 1 SSD with the OS and 1 HDD, I have the game installed on the SSD.
