Fire overload still give a circle showing the radius of the overload when you’re using it, but somehow the air overload guide is gone.
Fix it please. The eyes-in-the-back-of-the-head bug stops me from using it at all.
I really do not like Feedback (mesmer skill) being made ground-targeted. It’s one more thing to stop and aim.
I really feel like the changes to Ele auras is a mistake. Auramancer is one of the best builds for an Ele to be able to heal in the new raid. With our auras cut down, it’s that much harder for an Ele to be a worthwhile addition as a healer.
I really resent having PvP changes affect PvE so heavily. Not everyone PvPs and this is not primarily a PvP game. To nerf PvE’ers because some PvPers are perceived as overpowered is nonsense.
Other than that, I’m very much enjoying the changes made.
Removed animations?
I have not had a problem with crashing out of meta or boss events since I got the 64 bit client. Yet in the last 7-10 days it’s happened 3 times. It happened tonight AS my octovine was going down, and the map was full and I could not get back in. Of course, I got no credit.
What’s changed to make this start happening again? And is it related to the lag people have been experiencing lately? (not fps drops, actual lag, and across a map because I’ve seen people start complaining in map at the same time I’m experiencing it.)
City of Heroes did it, and everyone HATED it. There was a massive wave of complaints about it, and they were back several years.
It’s not a good idea.
Feycat and Lotusklee — I see an outbound updates sent on Tuesday. Can you please check your junk, spam, and other possible in-boxes? I need to know for certain that you didn’t receive it because it was routed to an other bucket.
Checked both those things, and I have no emails since April 17, at which point it went into my inbox. I can’t see any reason why I’d receive my initial emails just fine and not follow-ups.
I’m sure it’ll show up in the gem store soon :P
You should be receiving automatic updates. I know that’s not the best way to communicate, but it is a way to let you know your ticket didn’t fall into the abyss, and with the heavy volume, it’s something we want to send, just to touch base and let you know your ticket is properly assigned and will be addressed as soon as possible.
Jamin and Feycat — are you not getting any communication from us whatsoever, not even the automatic updates? Or are you getting those but are not seeing forward movement on the ticket?
Thanks for that info.
I have gotten no automatic updates, I haven’t heard anything for 8 days. I put in my ticket, was told it was being transferred to the “Game Support Team” and an agent would contact me. No one has, at any point, even when I updated one item on my ticket. Nada.
Thank you for the update kuscheldrow, I think this is very encouraging.
I really do think it’s important for anyone that had formed an impression of the megaserver prior to Divinity’s Reach being taken into the fold to spend some time in DR and objectively report your impressions. I know it’s really hard to qualify what (if anything) has changed but try to note guilds you recognize and the general nature of the chat & emotes.
If we are going to be constructive and help ArenaNet to dial in the right algorithms to protect our communities in the new megaserver system we need to be objective and reevaluate as changes are made.
I’m on TC and was on for most of the day & evening yesterday and DR seemed the same as it always was. If anyone is having a radically different experience than what they are used to in Divinity’s Reach please post your impressions and server name.
We’re all in this together in order to stay together.
If you want folks to stay together, you might want to try it yourself.
Not all RPers want to sit in DR all day.
Some of us want to be in The Grove/BC/RS/Ebonhawk where it’s appropriate for our characters to hang out.
Some of us want to be RPing our adventures out in the world.
Saying “I spent all day every day in DR and it was fine” only works for a portion of RPers, and leaves a lot of the rest of us in the dust. And doesn’t conform to the experiences of even every people who DOES want to sit in DR all day. Please recognize that.
Yup, it did take me over a week. I submitted on patch day, so you should be close! To Gaile, I think the auto-update system is a great idea. You should keep it in effect permanently. It’s always reassuring, even if only an automated message, to know that you haven’t been forgotten about.
I like it too, even though I know some people are irritated by the “auto-send” nature of the response. But with delays, I personally like to know things are moving along, that the company still knows I’m waiting, and so forth.
Thanks for the vote of confidence.
And yes, things are moving along, albeit not as swiftly as either our players or we would like! :-/
So my ticket was transferred to another department on April 17, 2014. I have yet to receive an auto-update message of any sorts, nor have I received any confirmation that my ticket is being looked into. When can I expect this?
That’s exactly what I’d like to know. Is anyone tracking these tickets? In the other thread we could put our ticket number and have Gaile tell us what’s happening with it. These tickets were put in over a week ago and we have NO ONE who will tell us what’s going on with them? That’s some pretty shoddy CS. Especially considering the only refund we can get is gems, and sales continue to drop out of the gem store.
I remember another MMO where people were organizing Costume Contests with prizes at the end for the most beautiful costumes in different categories. It was fun, made by the community, and thanks to a large possibility of customization.
Something we lost with this system, for all the reasons quoted in the 15 other pages of this thread.
And Anet is still ignoring, or refuse to reply because they have their feelings hurt. It’s time to move on Anet, being kitten for too long is never good, do something.
CC 1mil inf grand prize under Atlas in 5 min!
If you want to read a more positive outlook on the Megaserver, check out the subreddit for GW2. People are rigorously downvoting all posts which dare to imply even the slightest that MS could use a tune-up.
That’s not true, most of the people on the sub are split about 50-50 on the issue.
The megaservers do NOT DO what we were promised.
It was supposed to preferentially sort us with others from our home servers. It doesn’t.
It was supposed to preferentially sort us with others from our friends list and guilds. It doesn’t.
It was supposed to preferentially sort us with people in our party. It doesn’t even do that!
What it DOES do is ram as many people into a single map as possible, negating server culture and causing all sorts of friction and unpleasantness and clogging map chat with nonsense and hostility. It makes it hard to do world events because there are SO many people it’s hard to even get credit. It makes it hard to do guild events because you can’t cram anyone else into the map. It makes it almost impossible to find RP anymore.
Basically, it is killing everything about the game I enjoy except how pretty much characters are… which the townclothes update did a good job of kicking in the butt anyway.
Dead Smexy – it took you over a week? Well, I guess I’m getting close then… hopefully…
Hopefully too much more stuff/sales won’t drop out of the gem store while I’m waiting for the only refund I can get. :-/
Ticket 550150 refund of gems for town clothes, submitted 6 days ago.
No word after the initial escalation, I altered my ticket slightly and heard NOTHING, no acknowledgement, no indication that it is being looked at.
Honestly you guys should have expected this volume of requests after you completely changed a purchased item, so I’m not feeling very patient about it. Thanks for looking into it.
ATTENTION
As we have pointed out numerous times over the last week, duplicate-item and replacement-item refund requests are large in number and processing them is taking longer than 72 hours. We apologize for the fact that the queues are backed up, but please be assured that all requests will be reviewed and processed as quickly as possible. (Staff is working OT to try to reduce turn-around time.)
It’s not really relevant if someone got a refund more quickly than you. What matters is your refund. That matters to you and to us! We will continue to work around the clock to process your requests, and we ask for your continued patience as we do so.
The delay in processing refund requests is a known and admitted issue and this thread is intended for other purposes. Please do not post about item refund requests in this thread.
So where should we post then? I haven’t gotten a single notification after the “escalation” reply, and it’s been 6 days now. Are you saying that people who are waiting for their refund have no recourse but to just sit on our hands? Because things are slated to drop out of the gem store, and since the ONLY refund I can get is in gems, it actually does matter how long it takes for me to get those gems. If CS doesn’t care, who does?
No we don’t. Not in this game.
Ticket 550150 refund of gems for town clothes, submitted 4 days ago. No word after the initial escalation, and honestly you guys should have expected this volume of requests after you completely changed a purchased item, so I’m not feeling very patient about it. Thanks for looking into it.
Okay, I’m getting refunds for all the townclothes I bought (and yeah, it was a lot) and I’d resigned myself to that.
But my sylvari starter bikini turned into a tonic. And UNDYABLE RED AND BLACK tonic.
Most of my characters are sylvari. Why didn’t you guys make the default dye on sylvari leaves… you know, LEAF COLORS? Or just take the tone from the skin, the way some of the cultural armor does?
I was resigned to losing my townclothes because all of my sylvari at least could still wear their original townclothes, but now I can’t even use them! They look HORRIBLE on all my sylvari.
Can we PLEASE get those turned into outfits so we can dye them? Please?
The one issue with guilding is that there are currently 9k registered roleplayers with one site, and plenty more who never go there. Since guilds only hold 500 members, the community will still be somewhat fragmented. Many of us are (me included) also not in roleplay guilds, and count on walk-ups for most of our RP.
Is there -any- way you guys could create a roleplayer tag? I’m not requesting a server, but someone flagged as ‘rp’ would be a) findable by other roleplayers and b) could be weighted toward being punted to the same instances as other roleplayers.
I just want to echo this.
will there be individual mix and match pieces in future releases? Or will they all be complete sets?
We will continue to release mix and match armor skin pieces
So if we spend MORE money in the gem store, we will get back the functionality of the stuff we already purchased?
I think not. You’re really shooting yourself in the foot with regards to the people who spend the most in the gemstore for pure fluff if you go ahead with this.
If you’re going to change townclothes, make ALL of them armor sets and ALL of them dyeable. Or leave them as is. OR offer back full refund on ALL of them, including outfits, the way you did with the flamekissed armor. Because this is some very poor customer service and will likely be reflected as such.
I’m a huge fan of this game, been playing since beta. This change annoyed me so much that myself and my group of friends all signed up for the EQnext beta. At least EQ has always supported RP.
Clearly you haven’t been paying attention to the various arguments over the matter. Also it is not my assertions that I’m presenting as fact but rather the fact it has been debunked by several other posters. All information I have seen those in favor of Sylvari being dragon minions either use Wooden’s Potatoes information, which as I mentioned several other posters have debunked with actual evidence in game, or Scarlet’s insanity. My participation in these debates have been minor, and even then have been mostly presenting alternative hypotheses that have been debunked by Konig and other posters.
I would look up the information but it seems you would only waver it as “speculation”. Also the fact you didn’t provide any information suggests it the usual information those in favor use to try and prove their hypothesis.
I’m not the one who said you factually know that it’s been debunked, so I’m not the one who needs to explain my “hypothesis,” as I don’t have one. I’m saying what I’ve observed leads me to believe it is true, you stated factually that all evidence has been debunked.
If you don’t even know what has been debunked and how, then I don’t think you can make that claim. But by all means, carry on.
Clipped.
Just a note – your sig line is misquoted. It bugs me every time you post, LOL
I’m surprised that they think this will stop the flood of players leaving for ESO.
Or that we needed to wait five+ months for these changes.
Why would anyone leave for TESO? That game is terrible – played a couple open beta weekends and never saw such a “meh, been there, done that,” game in my life. And I played SWTOR :P And the only game with worse animations is Secret World.
I can’t see TESO holding anyone’s attention very long.
We won’t have diversity either with “outfits”, but at least they are dyeable. So at least, let’s have all of them made into outfits. No tonics, please!!!
I’d rather have them ALL made into tonics if it means I can get my gems refunded. Personally, I think they need to do the right thing and offer us returns on ANY of the townclothes that have been fundamentally altered at this point.
Just make every piece a dyeable tonic with a “show on / off” toggle, just the give us the diversity back. Don’t start to ruin this game plz …
NO!
No tonics! You can only use one at a time. And they disappear when zoning (and have had many other problems in the past). I am not particularly looking forward to the “complimentary clothing” they are going to provide us with the tonics either. Everyone will look the same. There’s no diversity with tonics.
There isn’t any with outfits, either, since they can only be worn in a single unmixed sheet. They’re 100% destroying diversity and the whole point of townclothes with this move.
I don’t care to argue legality (which is why I didn’t) – it actually has little bearing on this issue. The court of public opinion will be far more damaging to Anet and GW2. No one has to go to the Better Business Bureau or file a lawsuit. If Anet has a reputation of selling items in their store for real money and then fundamentally changing those items (no, it doesn’t matter to the public that they disguise it behind “gems”), then people will become reticent to purchase said items and I daresay Anet can’t afford that.
Considering that NCSoft took a HUGE hit in the reputation for the way they handled the COH shutdown and their history of really, really terrible customer service, there’s a sizable population of this game that are/were playing it IN SPITE of NCSoft because they trusted and liked Anet. I’m one of them, a former COH player since beta who decided to give Anet a chance despite NCsoft.
If you don’t think this is going to spread around in a negative way, especially given that there’s a large population (remember, the Save COH petitions had over 20k signatures) that’s currently boycotting and spreading NCsoft hate wherever they do ready to take ANY mistep and run with it, you are deluded. The MMO-gaming population is fairly small and word spreads. If you are seen to be kittening over your players, that grudge will last a LONG TIME. Just ask SOE.
It should be available to me somewhere in my account information.
Honestly though, I would be willing to just give up on this whole debacle if ANet promised to refund EVERY SINGLE piece of town clothes. It’s ridiculous that they’re only providing refunds for some pieces of clothing when town clothes as a whole are being changed.
I actually feel the same way. I am sad that my characters will lose their individual non-combat looks and I won’t be able to regain them. But if I got my gems back for ALL the townclothes (including the multiple sets) I bought from them, I’d be willing to shrug and let it go. Then I can re-spend all those gems on the 8000 transmutation stones I’m clearly going to need in order to make this “wardrobe” work for me.
What evidence? Frankly, I play mostly sylvari and everything I’ve seen indicates the opposite.
Is this actually solid, meaning without a shadow of a doubt, evidence or is this things that has been used previous in speculation threads and have been debunked? For the time being, to my knowledge, there is no actual evidence stating without a shadow of a doubt that Sylvari are Elder Dragon minions just things that individuals have taken as fact in other speculation threads which have been thoroughly debunked by others.
If there is information that you believed is being overlooked or not focused on, by all means share it with us.
Um, you are the one who stated categorically that it is not true and has been debunked. I’m not stating anything – I ‘m asking for YOU to elaborate on your assertions as fact. I have never seen any categorical proof of it being debunked, nor any evidence of it. As far as I’m aware, BOTH sides are speculative at this point, though I personally find much more evidence in favor than against. Since you’re the one stating it’s been thoroughly debunked, I’d like you to elaborate.
The gem store interface in-game only keeps track of the last 8 or 10 things I bought. Since I purchased gems with actual money, surely there is a transaction history of everything I’ve purchased from the company, but it is not in my account information. Where is it?
I’m just curious if I’m the only one. I used to play around with the idea of making a Legendary when the game first came out. I was really leaning towards Bifrost, saving up 100+ unidentified dyes just leveling up. However, I was never happy with the idea that the staff would be stuck to just one character, so I never pursued it.
With the Wardrobe coming, I feel more inspired to try for a Legendary again. This time I’m thinking of going for Sunrise, as my main changed from an Elementalist and a Mesmer to a Guardian and a Warrior. Who knows, may even try for Eternity if I’m feeling particularly masochistic. I’ve never really held more gold than 30 at a time, save for a point I got gems for a holiday and traded those for gold to get the, ‘Golden,’ title and no other reason.
So, I expect this to be a painful journey, but I’m interested in it. Just wondering if anyone else is feeling the desire to go for the long haul. If so, post here, tell us what you’re aiming to make!
It’s really not relevant to my Legendary, because I got my precursor early (seriously, like 5 tries in the Mystic Toilet and I got it… it was almost a heart-attack moment) and none of my other characters would really use the item. I don’t plan to share it, it belongs to that character.
And don’t forget that some of us bought multiple sets of some of these items. I bought 4 sets of wintersday for different toons (one toon wore with a top hat, another with the ringmaster hat, another with the ear muffs and the fourth with the santa hat – none of which will now be possible).
But, since it is now going to be an account wide unlock I will have spent 4 times as many gems for the same functionality as a player who bought a single set – and, from what it sounds, still will not be able to get a refund for the 3 extra sets.
Anet really REALLY needs to clarify whether we will be getting refunds for multiple sets.
Well, at least I can get a refund and hope that ANet will create a costume set similar to what I have now in the future.
Really? You’d buy from them again?
I don’t care if they create an outfit exactly like the mix and match one I’m wearing now. If this change goes live, I will never buy anything from the gemstore again.
Wow, so I read that the halloween/wintersday/pirate/cook costumes will not be refundable because they’re not becoming tonics.
The wintersday outfit I specifically bought to mix and match, I hate the full outfit.
Thanks for the bait and switch, Arenanet will never get another dime from me.
They need to fully refund ANY townclothes that people want to return. Including multiple sets. Just like they did with the Flamekissed stuff. They took my money – they don’t get to change the item to something completely different without refunding me.
I think I understand what Curtis is talking about.
There’s a huge hole in my chest.
There’s a huge seam in the belly of my norn thief, my human necromancer and my friend’s charr elementalist because the waist of her clothing has a weird clipping issue that literally lets you see through her body. It’s been there for a year. So clearly this isn’t a real issue.
I’m not even going to go into all the clipping issues and holes and whatnot in EVERYTHING about charr.
Will the original set of town clothes you are wearing upon character creation be an unlocked costume that we can wear? or is that just gone?
If we lose the base clothes, I will no longer play this game. The sylvari starter townclothes are some of my favorites in the game.
But of course I will feel disappointed since I paid real money for a feature you’re going to take away from me (practically all the gems I’ve spent in the gem store are for armor skins and town clothes – and some of them even as gifts because of last Xmas promotion!)
So still, I really want to
a) be able to combine my town clothes (and that includes using the parts of the outfits separatedly), and
b) be able to dye them.
This. We paid actual money for the purchase of townclothes that worked in the way described above. If you are going to take that functionality away, then you owe us BLANKET refunds for townclothes purchases. Not just the ones you decide to arbitrarily choose to make into tonics instead of skins. I want them ALL refunded. I’ve bought multiple sets of some townclothes in order to use one or two pieces as part of an outfit. If I can no longer build the outfit I want, NOR change the color, I want you to take it back. If I have to change my actual armor in order to use it, I want you to take it back. We made our purchases under false pretenses.
I have 12 characters. Each and every one has townclothes made of combinations of gemstore items, and each one uses their townclothes frequently. I’m also one of those people who puts together a “look” for my characters and transmutes every time I level. I do not want my cosmetic functionality taken away.
If you do this, offer refunds for ALL gemstore townclothes. Not just the ones you arbitrarily decided to take back. And what about repeats? I’ve bought several sets of some outfits, as I’ve said, solely for the mix-and-match. I want refunds for my duplicate sets as well.
I can promise you that I will not ever buy something from the gem store again – and yes, I’ve spent WELL over $100 there. I’m not buying things that will be stolen at a whim.
We do understand and sincerely apologize that there are creative combinations of town clothes that will not exist anymore. Many have asked why remove town clothes as a concept. It boils down to we believe better armor skinning and the outfit system is something we can add more options to more often and will produce a better supported RP game for everyone with more variety in the future. In short, a healthier game.
To expand more on what I mean by better support, It helps if you think of town clothes as a 4th weight class of armor. Clothing was meant to offer visual options that break the class roles, however we were never completely happy with the way it was isolated from the rest of the game and still felt largely the same. Many pieces could have easily been mistaken for light or medium armor. In many ways it was more akin to building an alt character because town-clothes and armor were so separated. Additionally, every time we added something to town-clothes, it didn’t really help someone building their light, medium, or heavy look. And there was no way to add combat gear fairly without creating 3 versions on the back end (light, medium, and heavy). As a customization platform and sustainable expansion design it left a lot to be desired.
When we started looking at bringing more of the clothing back into armor with mix and match styles there are some fundamental incompatible things between weight classes. (part of how we set up every armor to allow many dye channels and styles per piece).. There really is no way at this point over six years since we started development to make absolutely everything work together. So we needed something new to continue to grow in the future.
Outfits give us a way to create highly stylized looks that aren’t constrained to armor slots or weight class. In addition to armor skins that are easier and cheaper to collect across characters and the account dye system we do believe the options across a players whole account are much more attractive now. You’ll see more outfits coming out this summer and additions to the game more often usable by your characters. We try not to allow too much ‘hoarder’ design where we just keep stacking more and more options on leaving lots of unsupported things hanging around. Yes, we do have to give up some of our current closet space and clothing to fit the new wardrobe in. Again, apologies for that.
As always we ask you to try out the new system of customization and see what’s available to you. I think many people will be surprised by how many pieces have become armor compatible. We hope the benefits to the outfit system and wardrobe in terms of future support and additions will be clear, and you can look forward to more new outfits coming very soon.
Then give us refunds for ALL our townclothes gemstone purchases. Not just the ones you’ve arbitrarily decided to turn into skins. ALL of them. Because they were purchased with real money, under false pretenses.
If I buy a copy of LOTR on my Nook, I do not expect Barnes & Noble to remove it and give me a copy of Jane Eyre. It’s a good book, but not what I purchased.
Others are convinced the Sylvari origins lay with the Jungle Dragon, despite current evidence debunking this.
What evidence? Frankly, I play mostly sylvari and everything I’ve seen indicates the opposite.
Look it up on the TP, the crafted runes are listed there and you can see.
Also keep in mind that with the huge influx in guesters we’ve got on TC right now, we’re having HUGE trolling issues. Sadly, lots of the guesters seem to find amusement in spending their time jumping up and down on/dancing in the middle of/say spamming in RP events, which is a real drag. Not to mention some real mean-spirited stuff I’ve seen in /map. Before, this sort of thing was quite rare, but now it’s growing more and more commonplace. Most of the RPers I know are RPing out in the world these days and avoiding the big city/high traffic areas.
Okay, usually the only spot I see an RPer is at the divinity’s reach tavern. You cannot deny that the role playing community seems to be quite down in population in this game. Curious as to why.
I can and do deny it. I run into it all over the world, pretty much everywhere. I don’t think the role playing community is down at all.
Have you tried looking on http://www.guildwars2roleplayers.com/ if you’re not finding it on your own? You could try attending any of the many events listed there.
I have literally watched people standing around watching people in combat go down – me included – so that they can rez.
THAT is ugly.
No you can’t, because you still only have 600 cogs.
And yes, really. The mini games are awful, you can’t join Toypocalypse with friends, and repeating the instances gets you basically nothing.
That would be great if we could get COGS…
This better be a bug. Seriously. Give us another 50 cogs :-/
Yup, you just need a descent group.
So then why can’t we just bring in our group of friends… you know.. from our Guilds…in this Guild Wars game?
Feh… Between this, Keg Brawl, the other holiday minigames, and sPVP I’m getting fed up with this forced PUG grouping mentality.
What’s next, forced PUG dungeons?
We have those; they’re called Fractals.
No they’re not, I’ve never done Fractals with a PuG. You aren’t automatically ripped out of your group and placed in a PuG with Fractals, but you are with this.
The rounds take forever, the weapons are slow and plodding, I don’t heal after combat, the Dolyaks don’t heal either, it just seems like a real chore all around, just an endless deathmarch toward failure. Is there some mechanic I’m missing here?
Next time just try reading the introduction at the beginning of the match. It is there for a reason.
Except that you can’t join as a party, you’re thrown in with 4 other randoms who have no idea what’s going on, don’t communicate, and quit as soon as anything bad happens, not to mention that if you take the time to type out any instructions, dolyaks are dead by the time you hit enter.
This event is a complete failure due to the forced PuGging.
Thanks for the info Electro. I went with the Deathly Avian Shoulderpads, since they look the most natural with the outfit I’m going for. Said outfit preview is attached.
Woah, what is that chestpiece??
