First, yes the order choices seem, in the overall story, little more than a few quests that are meant to pad out your “personal story”, and to add some variety so not all your alts end up having the same exact story.
Second, I had this same armor and weapon question, and after being told countless times I should have researched my choices thoroughly before making such a monumental decision, I decided to find a work around so I could get the armor I want for my main. And there is one, but I leave out the details in case Anet considers it an exploit, I don’t know.
Last, I like that the order you choose actually makes some kind of difference to the armor/weapon choices, rather than the no difference it makes to the story as a whole. However, I would really like to know what those differences are before I have to choose. (not just role play talk about the orders way of dealing with things) Also, I would prefer that I get this info in game instead of having to search out fan sites and wikis.
How dare you role play your character. Razorface is right. (and not at all condescending) You should have studied up and your faction decision. You never, ever make such important decisions without hours of internet reading.
Listen, even if you are one of those weirdos that chooses what fits their character best instead of endlessly scouring the internet to kill any excitement or surprise, you still should have known by the way that one character, I think their name was “No One”, tells you all about the effects of permanently choosing a faction.
I mean really.
p.s. I think faction armor should be exclusive, but it should be pointed out well in advance what that decision means to your outfit choices. This is a game where looks are the all important armor stat.
From the various words I managed to pick out of that rambling bug report, I gather you, like many people, have noticed a few glitches in the otherwise epic dynamic events. That sure does suck, but here’s the good news; one day they might not be broke… maybe.
Huzzah!
And on that glorious day won’t you feel the fool for having moved onto another game that doesn’t cause you this irritation. You’ll have missed out on the opportunity to run these events over, and over, and over again. You won’t get your chance to come back to these forums and right a lengthy rant about how boring those events were. Oh I pity you my friend.
Side note, while I was writing that, I got confused and forgot which way I was pointing my sarcasm. So, yah, hope things work out for you, or not, who knows.
Cheers!

Why oh why would they keep server stats to themselves? Well my completely uneducated guess would be; because if you show someone a line of people queuing up to hurl themselves off a sinking ship they tend to want to get in that line.
Though, while I’m sure we’ll here about any significant rise in the player base, I’m gonna guess like most player dependent games, they’re gonna hold those particular cards close to their vet.
Well now, this seems the very antagonist to my love of complaining, not to mention my compulsion to whine. However, I will read this long and not at all hastily written, Q and A…
Hmm…
Interesting….
Oh, good point…
Of course…
Well, I find this all to be in perfect order. My mind is now forever changed. I will, hence forth, no long expect anything from a game with no monthly fee.
Now I seem to have developed a stabbing pain in my temples, along with a rather painful involuntary rolling of my eyes. I’m sure it quite unrelated to this of threads.
p.s. I like the game. Your logic is flawed. Hug?
Nice try… bot. This is exactly the type of thread a bot would make. Even the name, Caragen, bunch of random letters thrown together if you ask me.
Also, I am here by stating that I’m for this other bots idea of a toy banner.

First off… Whaaa! Bots you say?! With crazy names?! Duping the system?! Sentence fragments?!
Anywho, they’re disrespecting the company? Really… come on. There ruining a game because people in that game are throwing cash at them to do it. I doubt any one of them is even thinking about the company. Also, there’s are a ton of bot threads. Did we need this one? Anet is either doing something about the bots at this point or there not. Either way, repeat threads aren’t doing anything but cluttering the forums and urging fanboys to create more pointless threads about how everyone needs to lay off Anet. Wait… am I doing that? Am I a fanboy?! Oh god no! No! It burns!
At any rate, yes they are annoying. They kill immersion, ruin events, and make the whole game feel empty and hollow. So… yep, that’s a thing that should go away.
Now if you don’t mind, I need to get back in game, my best friends myobjjj and ryobjjj, are going to teach me the merits of repeatedly running face first into a cliff wall. They’re really quiet guys, but I think that’s cuz there shy.
OK fellow fanboys, gather round, there’s work to be done.
The review is long and thought out, we need a plan…
First, someone look up who wrote this and find some other reviews from them and explain how it shows the person is bias and not reliable. Second, we need people in here to nitpick his wording, really try and derail the topic. They said grind a lot, what does that even mean? Also, he mentioned WoW once or twice, lets harp on that, don’t let them get away with having played WoW. Third, keep repeating that the game just came out so we need to give it more time. Patches, there are always future patches, time is on our side. Last but not least, we need to make it clear they don’t get it like we do, and that they’re not play the game right or the way Anet intended.
Alright, now get out there and defend this company!
Goooooo Anet!
Seriously though, I have actually never seen a largely negative review before. Not that I was looking. Anyway, good read, nothing new, but then again its not new. I agreed with some of parts, not others, blah blah blah. I’m gonna go back to imagining my fanboy huddle.
Epic, hmm… would you settle for slightly above average? Actually that’s a lie, its just average. Well its actually below average, but here’s the good news, since no one can see what your contributing to any given event, no one will know… or care.
Have a precise, well thought out character build? Great!
Picked all your traits with your eyes closed? Also great!
Like standing in the back auto attacking? Guess what, that’s great too!
Seriously though, Its a mixed bag this. No status, means no one feels less than anyone else, but then no one has a reason to do more then the barest. And if you are trying harder even though no one will know, then your a better player then most, and your probably just in-game enjoying yourself and not rummaging around the internet trying to figure how to make others recognize your epicness.
I’m not getting it. We are really arguing about how your character is introduced to quests? Most MMOs (RPGs in general) make you talk to npcs and this one doesn’t so its revolutionary?
Some people like to pretend there character has to interact with other people to find out the situation and thats the old mindset? Mindset? This is some heady talk for a fantasy MMO where you find a quest hu.. heart, do/kill a load of random stuff, and level up.
I for one love the heart system. I like to roleplay my character is telepathic and can enter any village and know exactly who needs the feed bag and who gets stabbed. Cow or pirate… its a tough call but that pirate looks so cute, and that cows given me the stink eye.
